You throw your head around, shifting your gaze back and forth between the suspiciously amused Cathy and your dead-serious aunt staring down on you. Why would she react so strangely like that? What's going on? Do they know something you don't?
Did you just step into their teasing trap? Is this just another scheme to get you to embarrass yourself? Are you just...
No! You absolutely refuse to let them mock you again! You hold the ball now!
You focus your stare back to your aunt and muster the most impish smile possible. You don't know how well you succeeded, but you like to think that you look very knowledgeable and privy to all of her embarrassing, dirty little secrets. This seems to do nothing to change the expression on your aunt's face, however. ..
Though you try to appear calm, you're forced to admit to starting to become a tiny bit nervous as you speak up. "Nu-uh! No good magician reveals their secrets!" you hastily announce. "I-I'll naturally use this when you least expect it, and when it would be the most embarrassing to you! Just wait"
At the same time, you're taking quiet, sneaky sidestep to get out of the living room and the presence of the two adults.
"Oh really now?" your aunt shoots back with a raised eyebrow and a slowly growing smirk. "Because it seems to me like the opposite… Namely that you're actually trying to hide something here." Wait, what-? "And where do you think you're going now? You needn't be so secretive about your affairs, we all know about those."
You freeze for a moment, your face reddening considerably. You're not ready for this, this is not a hill worth dying on. So you pull off the greatest damage control strategy by covering your ears with your hands and speaking up. "I can't hear you! I can't hear you!"
You don't even look behind you as you bolt out to the safety of your room with newly gained sense of vigour hastening your departure. You don't need to hear the rebuttals, and you won't get teased if you don't hear anything. It's genius!
Your aunt deems it unnecessary to follow you though, and as soon as the rush of adrenaline fades from your veins, you let out a sigh. You still need to prepare for the day with Ami and others, and you haven't really done anything yet for that. Time to get ready, you suppose.
You de-transform first, and move to get some new clothing. You're still slightly sweaty from your practice, and need to take a shower before moving out. Neither your aunt nor Cathy blocks your way there, and you can hear them talking about something in the kitchen, while the former hustles around with the pastries and a radio blasts some pop songs in the background.
After a refreshing shower that makes you feel quite a bit better and relaxed. A quick drying and brushing of your hair later, you get your clothing and bag ready for leaving. You don't really need much there, just your grief seeds in case the worst possible scenario happens, and you run into a witch. Although, after contemplating it, you decide to take the pictures she gave you.
Maybe you could show them to Matsuko and Yuujin.
It's about 11 am once you're done. More than enough to walk over to Ami's at a leisure pace and even take a small detour at that. Your Gem and seeds are safely tucked into your pocket and bag respectively.
