Distract him with a short light show, so he won't blow up at the stranger holding his daughter and will instead gawk at us. The surprise should buy us some time to explain ourselves.
 
The man may be Big Boss Verrier, so if we kidnap Ariane, Uncle may lose his job.

    Yeah, how exactly are you going say no that? You could probably kidnap her or something too, but that would just cause more problems in the future. It is probably for the best to step in now.

    You take a step and clear you throat in an attempt, "E-excuse me, sir?" The man's eyes seem to flash for a second and he turns his intense gaze towards you. Despite your best efforts, you can't help but to flinch under the angry scrutiny.

    "And who would you be? Are you behind this insanity?" he demands from you in flawless Japanese. "...and iss there any particular reason for you to stroll around in props?"

    Well, you suppose your uniform can come off as props for those who don't know better, but it is still annoying. However, this is not the place to be indignant about it. You offer a small and nervous bow and introduce yourself, "I-I am Tamiko Higekino, pleased to meet you... Uh..."

    You quickly take a look at Ariane, "S-say, is this your father then?" She only nods mutely in response and you turn back to the fuming man in front of you.

    "W-well, pleased to meet you Mr. Verrier. I-I suppose I am responsible for this. But it's okay!" you hastily add in hopes of not giving the wrong impression, "Y-your daughter no longer has to fear that the light will hurt her. S-see, even now she is unaffected!"

    Behind you, Ariane nods furiously in agreement, clearly not keen on going inside even when asked. However, this does very little to actually convince him, something he makes quite clear. "Do you have any idea what you are even talking about, lass!? Life-threatening illnesses don't just up and disappear suddenly like that!"

    Well, at least he hasn't grabbed Ariane and run back inside. You take this as a potentially good sign.

    What do you do?
