Part me wants to go to Bretonnia just to stick it to the Empire College that kicked us out, but another part of me wants to set up a Kingdom of Steam in the Border Princes.
To be honest, I was thinking of trying to make a better crossbow, and market it to local Sylvania; something with high stopping power but much quieter than a gun.
Nope, i refuse to set foot in Sylvania unless it's as part of a sizeable armed group to kill vampires and other undead. You know, after we get our shit together the place that would less be suspicious of us would be Sylvania, like those guys would be outright loyal to us if we help even a little bit with their depressing lives and it is a place for us to deliver the good word of the Steam power, because i can't remember them having any Gods having strong presence there maybe just Morr because of all the dead but outside of him, that is a field day for us to collect
I like this idea.I'd rather we go to Marienburg and build enough capital there to travel elsewhere. Having soap as a source of income in a wealthy city like Marienburg would pay for itself very quickly.
And some kind of holy water steam diffusion systemLet's go to Sylvana AFTER we've developed high pressure flamethrowers
Altdorf and Nuln would likely be the most prepared for the adoption of steam power as both canonically have factories built there as well as a healthy population of Dwarfs to shore up their industries. Sylvania on the other hand is uh... Horribly mired in poverty and serfdom on a level that puts them behind even a lot of Bretonnia when it comes to their technology. Being oppressed by vampires and facing the undead as a fact of life will do a lot to stop progress.Does Sylvania (or anywhere in the Empire really) even have the industry or population to support the widespread adoption of steam power? Like, there's a BIG leap between the current development of Human lands and using steam power outside of niche cases; major improvements to agriculture and land consolidation to free up workers, an educated populace that can understand and learn how to use and produce all this new stuff, a developed metal working industry, large coal or charcoal production, etc.
The problem with that is that we're currently blacklisted from being an Engineer in the Empire, as noted in the workshop action. Then if we want to get things ROLLING we'll have to go to the most hopping joint in the whole Empire (it's Nuln).
I'm here to LEAD, not to READ; such details pass by me and are IRRELEVANT.The problem with that is that we're currently blacklisted from being an Engineer in the Empire, as noted in the workshop action.
Thing is the seeks patron action, we only have 2 dice in the pool and need 2 successes and the other is joining a merc band to try and generate profit- if we want to go and setup in Marienburg it is probably best to do so now.I think Marienburg is obviously the best location for multiple reasons. Not only is it a hub of trade that holds many cultural ties to the Empire and its engineering expertise, but it also has a very capitalistic society with many investors that would be very interested in industrial technology. It was a society like Marienburg that drove the IRL Industrial Revolution, after all. However, considering our relatively precarious financial situation, I don't think it's a good idea to head to Marienburg right away. It might be best to save up extra wealth and take a turn or two preparing before departure.
We need to at least build some weapons to protect ourselves first, since it's noted that we'll likely run into trouble on the way.Thing is the seeks patron action, we only have 2 dice in the pool and need 2 successes and the other is joining a merc band to try and generate profit- if we want to go and setup in Marienburg it is probably best to do so now.
Which if we do the matchlock crafting leaves us with only 1 wealth left which seems like a bad idea.We need to at least build some weapons to protect ourselves first, since it's noted that we'll likely run into trouble on the way.
Kislev City or Erengrad could also be promising depending on when we are- if Boris has taken power, he's very eager to modernize Kislev.Altdorf and Nuln would likely be the most prepared for the adoption of steam power as both canonically have factories built there as well as a healthy population of Dwarfs to shore up their industries. It's better than traveling without any weapons to defend ourselves imo.Which if we do the matchlock crafting leaves us with only 1 wealth left which seems like a bad idea.
We would have to buy powder and ammo as well which might eat up our last bit of wealthIt's better than traveling without any weapons to defend ourselves imo.
For clarity the travel to Marienburg action will involve hitching a ride with a caravan. Lone/small group travel throughout the Old World is for Witch Hunters, Slayers, or a very out of his depth man named Felix getting dragged across the planet. It's better than traveling without any weapons to defend ourselves imo.
