Honesty is the best policy, especially when dealing with priests who are also acting as cops and you really want them to deal with the dead body and the fake priests before the town is overrun by zombies.
 
We are going to loose these two items. I say we hide the fact about the amulet because we were told to always ware it. I do not want to know what will happen to us if we loose it.

Most likely we were told to always wear it, because it's a protective amulet, enchanted by an Amethyst Wizard.

It has already protected us from direct harm once. Now it can protect us from indirect harm by letting the priests have a look at it and see that it's just a regular enchanted amulet. Rare and expensive, sure, but nothing heretical.
