Balls. It looked cool.

Oh, it does, I even named mine Boktai, after JWittz's Heliolisk. Unfortunately, it was slow and weak as glass.

The one I have had the Ability Dry Skin, allowing it to heal in rain or when attacked with Water-Type moves. Accordingly, I gave it Surf and Rain Dance, and also gave it Thunderbolt and Charge Beam to get STAB.

I found that arrangement quite brilliant on paper: Rain Dance both boosts the power of Surf and heals Heliolisk at the same time, while the Charge Beam attack boosts Sp. Atk at the same time, allowing for Thunderbolt to do more damage.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the damn thing to work the way I intended at all; every time I brought it out it was crushed by the opponent's pokemon within 1-2 turns. The thing's a worthless glass cannon more than anything.

It actually has comparable attacking(sp. atk) stats to a lightball pikachu and good Sp. Def it seems. It's also got great speed at 109 base.

It just can't take a physical hit at all and has HP comparable to a Pikachu.

So, basically light ball pikachu, but better?
Also, It can Learn Surf? I didn't know that. If jolteon wasn't my second favorite pokemon, I would put the one I have in my team in no time flat.
Also, Canceller, it evolves with a sun stone if you didn't know.

Heliolisk is basically one whole big shout-out to the Jesus Lizard, given that it can learn Surf (thus, walking on water), and has the Dry Skin ability. It's also a reference to solar power as well, since it evolves using a Sun Stone and is an Electric-Type.

So a fragile speedster who can hit hard but cannot take any physical attacks? I can live with that.

I only wish the lizard had Sun Power or Dry Skin, with the former I could give it the leftovers and just let it rip everything to pieces given a bit of preparation. Meh, that is what breeding is for once I have Fly.

Right now I am just going to Experiment how I can use it best. Searching for a Sun Stone, but not having much luck. Got a few Water Stones and Fire Stones, but not a single Sun Stone..

Well, he learns most of his useful attacks later on in unevolved form anyway, Volt Switch and Thunderbolt are very useful for something fragil like this.

Edit: It is certainly annoying that it doesn't learn Solar Beam and can anyone tell me why Parabolic Charge doesn't hit multiple enemies in doubles? That is something it should do..

You can get Sun Stones from mining in your Secret Base, and you can get Ability Capsules from the Blackfist City Department Store.

I know, I got the first one from there so I could evolve Dimension if I remember right. I managed to get one, now I just want to get my Hand on Volt Switch before evolving it.

Also, Electrify would be so useful in doubles where you have an ally with Lightning Rod.

The TM for Volt Switch can also be bought at the Blackfist Dept. Store as well.

And thunderbolt. You can actually buy that now without trading tens of thousands of poke for coins. Just 3000 poke. Chump change.
You can do the ludicrously overpriced game corner method if you want to get them slightly earlier, though.

NOOO!!!! you are ruining all the fun that is in grinding a Pokemon to twice the Level of the wild Pokemon while only fighting specific enemies^^

Nah well, I am already Level 39, so one more and now that I have completed the EV Training. (253 Speed, 253 Sp. Atk., 4 Sp. Def) I can get the last Level for Volt Switch with the ghosts in the Secret Base.

Does...this game game have theB/W exp system?

I don't think so, all the Exp is static from what I have seen.

Whatever, I have been in an all-time Zeta buzz, so here is the next update.

Say hello to the Killer Birdy of deadliness.

Useful and dangerous against Rock and Steel types alike, even if it won't be to great against the next Gym.

Walking through the City I find this guy.

You bet.

I do have that Misdreavus and I plan to Train it up more in the future, but otherwise I am somewhat limited. I do have a few Dark Types in my box, but nothing trained up.

Sure, just wait a Moment and I will get that leftover Pokemon from my PC. Don't move away. (Not like he is going to do that.)

*Moves to PC and then back to the guy for the trade*

Yeah, I remember it from Mystery Dungeon, it was a great friend and cool ally and stuff.

Hurrah! Now to think of what to do with this. The Absol I had in Emerald was totally screwed up in hindsight. I taught it Thunderbolt, Flamethrower and Blizzard if I remember right, combined with Perish Song as the last choice. Well, I can always get back to it later.

Whoever said that TV Shows are going to ruin the youth was probably playing this game. *Slowly moves away from the Girl that has started a Religion over Television*

And here is the Evolution, thanks to a Sun Stone.

The Team with which I am going to tackle the Gym now. Mixed Typing with a few Normals to neutralize the Ghost attacks. In that hindsight, a Normal/Electric typing is pretty great.

Hey, it is another kid with power far above his common sense. Considering that Trainers start at 10 and there are at least 2 per Generation that have enough power to fight legendaries after a short time, I would expect more kid Gym Leaders.

Oh wait, there are kid Gym Leaders, these two Psychic twins from Hoenn, and didn't Sabrina start her carrier as a Little girl?

The guy tells me that Dark Types, or another Ghost type could deal with this, but honestly, just having some normal Types that have good Non-Normal Type attacks can seriously irritate any Ghost whose main attacks are Ghost Type.

Actually, it does seem to run on B/W's EXP scheme. I have noticed a marked reduction in EXP from the same source as I level poke's up.

Grinding is an acquired taste I think.

I've actually gotten much better at it since Acquiring Pokemon X... or maybe you just need so much less in that game because my team there is like 10 levels above freaking everything.

Though I got most of it while trying to get my hands on both a Ralts and an Eevee. Stupid semi-rare little buggers...
