Pokemon Orange Version

I want lord Piplup, of House Steel! Steel types are a solid defensive typing, forming the bulwark of a late-game team

I don't want Torchic. F* you, you fire fighting liars. And I'm allergic to owl pokemon since Hoothoots. So, Piplup, here you go!
(Will vote for any plan that has piplup and not a stupid name (funny /punnynames are not neccesarilly stupid)).

I once made a normal-type team with a theme of being half a trick room team, half a speedy+tailwind team for doubles format. It was gimmicky as fuck but it worked surprisingly well with a high win-rate.

The point being that a properly trained single-type team is a force to be reckoned with, as long as you know how to counter what you're weak against.

(Though to be fair a few gym leaders like Sabrina could probably be considered exceptions.)
Sabrina just takes advantage of having the second best pokemon in the game (alekazam) and the fact that psychic had no actual counters in gen 1, because there were no valid bug moves, bug pokemon were either poison or fighting, dark didn't exist, and ghosts were poison, and also didn't have ghost moves.

Eh, a local boy! Or, uh...

And, now, to fight off the urge to define her too strongly personality wise...
