AFTERNOON: Train Totodile
You decide to start the afternoon with some training! You get Totodile out of her pokeball and tell her what you're gonna do.
"Hey Totodile. You like biting things, right?"
Totodile looks at you, cocking her head to the side.
"What? You bite things all the time!"
She shrugs.
"Well, you bite me a whole lot!"
You sigh. It's time to get creative. You take a stick off the ground and tie a string to one end. On the other end, you tie a green poffin with sprinkles. That causes Totodile's eyes to follow where the treat dangles.
"Did that get your attention?"
You swing it back and forth, hovering just out of reach of her snapping jaws.
"Try biting this instead of your trainer, huh?"
Training Check
2, 1, 5 = 1 Success
Totodile doesn't quite take to training like you hoped she would. She's quicker than she looks, and you go through half the poffins because she bites them clean off the string!
The other half vanish while you're taking a break. When you had your eyes closed, totodile got into the bag and helped herself to the rest! The little brat waited for your guard to go down! You didn't even think pokemon could work zippers, and now you have to put locks on your cooler!
A few hours in, you give up and let her nibble one of your safety gloves. That you know she can do without making it complicated. Totodile tears it off your hand and goes wild, running off into a puddle and ripping it to shreds.
You don't think Totodile is any more "disciplined" for the exercise, but at least you kept your hands.

EVENING: Head West to Rosemaburg City
With training being a dubious success, you head West so you can reach Rosemaburg by nightfall. You've been there a few times with your mom over the years, so you know the way. Even if you didn't, the road's a straight line! How hard can it be to walk forward?
You're going down the old road that mom complains the government should be "putting our tax money towards before I bill them for my next set of spare tires" when you trip on a log!
"Woah!"
You fall on to the ground! Behind you, the log rises off the road in a rage!
"Uh oh."
Wild BIDOOF appeared!

The following event occurs based on the assumption that the Bidoof didn't slit your throat and eat Totodile for dinner.

After that unexpected encounter, you finally reach the short bridge to Rosemaburg City. You read the sign as you cross the bridge.
ROSEMABURG CITY "The vibrant getaway under the sun!"
Set on tip of the Corianda Bay, Rosmaburg is a big coastal city. A lot of traffic goes in and out of it, though you've seen the pictures and Corianda is even bigger. Walking down the bridge, you can get a clear view of the beach and palm trees at sunset. Speedboats and yachts race across the clear blue water as Wingulls and Pellipers fly above in a bright orange sky.
Before you can check in at a hotel for the night, an old man sitting in a folding chair calls out to you. He has a sack of standard pokeballs in a net bag at his side.
"Excuse me, young lady!" he says. "Are you a pokemon trainer?"
"Yes! Just started."
Nearby, a pidove lands on a garbage can. It pecks at the lid and attempts to pull out the remains of a candy wrapper with its beak.
"I used to be a pro pokemon catcher, back in the day! Now that I'm retired, I have nothing better to do than to show youngsters how to catch pokemon of their own! Would you like me to show you the basics of catching?"
