Playing in the Sun (Gamer/Exalted SI)

Imperfection of the Shadow of All Things: All perfect defence Charms with this flaw fail outright when confronted with a Holy effect. This Imperfection may be closed by slaying the Unconquered Sun, who defines the principle of Holy.

Greater Imperfection of the Ultimate Darkness: All Ebon Dragon defence Charms, perfect or otherwise, cost a number of additional motes to activate equal to the rating of any Virtue channeled to enhance the attack (maximum 5). It is always permissible to channel any Virtue enhance attacks against him, defend against his attacks or take any action that he directly contests with his traits. Finally, channeling a Virtue against any physical or social attack the Ebon Dragon makes perfectly defends against that attack.

However, you neglect his other statistics. Behold:
  • Ebon Dragon Yozi-Body Unity makes it impossible to attack him or defend against him unless you can attack/defend vs. material and immaterial targets, which costs motes - and he has 1000 motes, four times as many as the Unconquered Sun, and almost 8 times as many as the average elder Solar.
  • His perfects can't defend vs. Holy, but he has other, non-perfect defense Charms which will work, and not everyone has access to Holy.
  • Channeling Virtues are all well and good, but it costs Willpower to do so, and Hollow Heart Transcendence gives him 20 points of Willpower to spend, not just 10.
  • Dragon Who Swallowed The Sun means his standard form is 2 miles wide and 50 miles long from snout to tail, giving him a sizable Magnitude bonus, and his blast attack has a range increment of 3 miles, putting him out of reach of most attacks.
  • He can create a duplicate of his attacker under his command with Shadow Slave Extraction, which has the same statistics he would gain via Black Mirror Shintai.
  • Mere Wounds Mocked increases the target number of damage rolled against him to 9 (unless Virtue-enhanced or stunted, but you only have so much Virtue and can only stunt so many times).
  • Worst of all is Exiled By Wicked Hate; if he "kills" you, and you don't have an active Shaping defense (which costs motes), you are banished into the darkness beyond existence and made immortal to suffer forever, as per Life-Denying Hate; Celestial Exaltations remain behind, so even if you somehow find a way to return, you aren't Exalted anymore.
  • Last, but certainly not least, you need a Primordial-killer Charm (Much rarer than a mere spirit-killer) to put him down for good, and he can sense if you have one and will do his best to hightail it if he's in danger of losing. And of course, if you do kill him, he becomes a Neverborn...

Bolded part for emphasis, Supremacy of Defense, That Little Old Lady might not be able to kill TED, but she can Perfectly defend herself, or those she cares for as long as she channels her virtues (so four, five attacks at most, then she's Dead)

Also there is a Solar charm that lets the Solar Define Holy, so that As Long as that Solar stands, his holy effects still stand, something like Should the Sun not Rise I believe. Ghost-Eating Technique states it kill Primordials.

Wait, are we getting into a mechanics debate?

Ghost-Eating Technique kills Primordials. This is explicitly mentioned in its text.
Ghost Eater Technique is THE primordial killer charm. Some of the other exalted splats have them to but they are unique to exalts. Primordials are not meant to die. Exalts can only kill them because they have some of Autocthon's essence who is the only primordial that can die and has defying limits as part of his themes.

If they don't specify they kill primordials they don't. Spirits can't kill primidials, gods can't, other primirdials can't, raksha can't this is something only exalts can do. (Autobot might but he lacks the combat power to find out.)

Not unless she can defend vs. material AND immaterial targets; otherwise, TED's attack goes right through her defence attempt.

Should The Sun Not Rise allows a Solar to use Holy Charms in the absence of the Unconquered Sun, and provides a discount on Holy Charms to boot... but not all Solars have it, and TED can sense those who do.

All spirits and Primordials can sense the presence of anyone who knows Ghost-Eating Technique, and TED will Nope out of combat if he's up against someone who has it and it looks like he might lose. And he's the best there is when it comes to running away.

TED would nope at the concept of fighting anyone who could in theory know GET or an equivelant Charm.

Fighting TED is kind of like fighting salarians; if you are in open combat you've either already lost or there's something seriously wrong.

Also, let me echo your sentiment on Snip 7. Holy shit.

Quick question: This is an appropriate song for Abyssals, so what would be an appropriate song for a Solar? I mean, other than this of course...

If I could look at the songs you posted I might have a better idea for this, but how about "Johnny Be Good" or "We Are the Champions" or "Princes of the Universe."

"Warriors of Light," and "We are One" by Freedom Call and Triarii are pretty good but the best one would have to be "Emperor of the Sun," also by Triarii.

Yes, killing the Ebon Dragon is difficult because he is a coward who will run away at the first opportunity and will try to create an opportunity to run away as soon as he can but you really don't need to kill the Ebon Dragon to derail his escape attempt.

In RotSE his plan could only work thanks to factors that don't exist right now. Like the fact that the Exalted host was crippled, that half the Solars weren't even Solars anymore and some of them were outright on his side. Those who opposed him weren't in position of power like in the First Age and/or they couldn't even operate freely and/or were also enemies with each other.

To be free TED need to marry the ruler of Creation first in Hell and then on Mount Meru. In the First Age this person is Merela, an Elder Solar who also happen to be the lover of the Unconquired Sun... Seriously if TED manage to kidnap and marry the Ruler of First Age Creation despite that and the fact that the Exalted Host is united and at the height of its power, he really deserve his freedom.

This is without going into how his plan could only work because (a) no one was aware of the existence of the loophole (b) the Scarlet Empire was set up so that the Empress was nearly impossible to replace (something that isn't true for the Solar Deliberative).

The first is important because if the existance of the loophole is well known it will automatically make all TED attempts to pull that kind of stunt nearly impossible. The latter is important because not only it stalled all attempts to crown a new ruler when the Empress disappeared, it also allowed her to take back the throne with only a flimsy explanation despite her long absence.

Snip 8
Bonus Objective: Speak to Gaia - Complete
Experience Awarded:
5

Items Awarded: Mantle of The Emerald Mother
Other Awards: Contacts * (Gaia)
Another pop-up. Seems I'll be seeing quite a few of those today... I mused, closing the pop-up as I inventoried the Mantle. No need to let all and sundry know about Gaia's interest in me *cough*Kejak*cough*. Now, let's see...

There were six arrows in my minimap; five gold and one white. I didn't need a pop-up to tell me that those would be my objectives; gold for main objectives, white for bonus objectives. The arrows were of different sizes; presumably, the bigger arrows indicated objectives closer to me than the smaller arrows. With that sorted out, I started walking, turning corners as appropriate to find the closest objective - a primary.
I turned another corner - *Snap* *SMASH* *Thump*- what the?

"Shit! It's loose!" "Catch it!" "Don't let it - ARGH!!"

Something that sounded like a giant cat yowling in pain-filled fury rang out from a door about halfway down the corridor - behind which, my minimap stated, was my objective. A Twilight Caste mark was centered in a gold broken circle, like in Star Trek Online, so I presumed that would be my Twilight Caste Instructor. Also in the room with them was five Dragon-Bloods, three Air and two Fire aspects... and a demon, rapidly moving towards the door -

*BOOM*

And I got my first look at a demon in the spiritual flesh. A green lion, somewhat smoking and dripping a clear fluid that smoked as it hit the floor, looking at me with rage-filled green eyes.

Teodozjia, First Circle Demon
Essence 4

Ah, fuck. Good thing I had put the Mantle and my beamklave in my inventory instead of equipping them; this was the worst possible First Circle I could face. The Lions Sent Into The World are not singular demons, but possess a collective conciousness: what one sees, they all see, and what one knows, they all know. Moreover, even if killed with a spirit-killer Charm or spell, Zsofika can make a new teodozjia with all of a dead one's memories at will.

My only consolation was that they descend ultimately from Adorjan, not the Ebon Dragon; still, I had to hold back, lest any others I meet know what weaknesses of mine to exploit. And of course, TED could interrogate any First Circle he chose at will, being a Yozi; in his position, I'd question the Lions regularly for any new info they may have learned.

Judging from the dripping liquid eating holes in the floor, the Twilight had been attempting to render this demon into chalcanth; sadly, this was likely to be par for the course. Stupid Great Curse.

And then I had no more time to think, as the teodozjia leapt at me, jaws open wide, forty inch-long teeth seeking my throat!

On one hand, now you have a chance to get in good with your instructor. On the other hand, Teodozjia.

Actually, you might not need to fight it. Considering the circumstances, if he runs off there's bound to be a giant "CoD on the Loose" alarm, which won't end well. Dog-piled by Celestial Lions, or rendered down into what is essentially a mana potion?

Gets to close to a Zenith and explodes.

Weren't you supposed to be in Yu-Shan? Because if you are, you should know that summoning Demons in Yu-Shan is illegal.
Yu-Shan is a wasteful, corrupt bureaucracy where half the work done is an attempt to avoid work. It's just as much of a mess as Creation, except everyone's shit smells nicer. I can easily see a demon being summoned up, so long as it isn't made public.

In this case, someone's going to get a paddlin' because there's no deniability. Unless he says that it was a Genesis project that got loose. People might choose to believe that to avoid filing paperwork.

So; you're gonna want to not draw on any of Gaia's charms for this fight. It'd be bad if the Yozis thought that Gaia was making real Exalted and not those dragonblood chumps.

There is also the unlikely possibility that he is Gaia's Akuma.

Becoming an akuma requires a conscious decision to sell your soul to the Primordial, at which point they shred your free-will and stick an Urge of their design into you. This lets you use all of their charms that you meet the requirements for.

What happened here is that a Solar exalt was given a very potent artifact and the backing of Gaia.

Yes, i know.

What i was saying is that if the Jade Lion see him use Gaia's Charms being an Akuma is a possible explanation.

Another possible explanation is that he learned Primordial Principle Emulation.
