WAIT
LATE NIGHT REALM JUST REALIZED SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT!!!
[ ] (Free action): Ask Kira to touch your deck! -[ ] If she is hesitant, explain that the deck you have contains a bunch of spirits that only wake up when reacting to people's magic.(Edit: This is wrong... maybe)
KERMIE YOU FOOL, WE GET NOT ONE BUT 2 NEW FORMS! WHY WOULDN'T KIRA TOUCH THE DECK MWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA
Well if this is allowed of course
Purrson reels back a bit but continues. "...My guess is that exposing the deck to others that have been under heavy Void influence or are Kamen Riders or Magical Girls might reawaken any different spirits that were sealed inside those cards for whatever reason. Speaking of…"
Okay So I miss remembered exactly what Purrson said but that doesn't mean that this won't get us anything!
Maybe. Would disprove Kira isn't a magical girl if it fails at least
Sorry, but I'm gonna have to veto this. For all you know, Kira's gonna see it as a normal deck of cards like Mai and Arata did, and then that leads to an awkward explanation that Rei does not have the Social to sit through.

Ah- so we need higher Social to ask someone to touch the Deck? Alrighty!~
And I should vote hold on- [X] Plan: Sky Bound Deck Construction
This probably won't win, but I do want to get the final Alice spirit free from their cage

One vote isn't gonna be enough to change the outcome, so I'm gonna close out this vote.
Here's the order for this week's plans!
Turn Order:
1: Ask Akemi to touch your deck, Train your technopathy powers, Train to defend the weak.
2: Look more into the Void Glyph with Kira (and with Akemi).
3: Work at Animate part time, Get situated, Work on being "a real superhero team"
4: Explore Tokyo, Investigate Rumor
5: Reading Up!
6: Get some help with the voices in your head, research on mysterious deck, Have a "talk" with Purrson.
And this in game week should last 7-8 updates, before we're on to more important stuff.
Someone else, a Physical check. After that, the Akemi/Himari training arc update should come out tomorrow. (I've already finished up all of Akemi's obtainable Overlays/Forms, it's just up to you to pick.)

Tokyo, Jun's Apartment Roof
-Have Himari train her technopathy.
-Have Akemi train to defend the weak.
-After, ask Akemi to touch your deck, (not in that way, get your head out of the gutter) and get a new form.
"Left! Right! Stab!"
You, Purrson and Jun are watching as Himari and Akemi swing their blades. Akemi has the "Voidcutter", as Purrson called it, unsheathed and swinging through the air, while Himari has a training kendo stick in her hands. Jun has his hands cupped together, yelling instructions.
"Himari, keep your hands up, even when you don't have anyone swinging at you! Akemi, spread your feet wider! We'll be taking a break now!"
Jun's only about ten minutes away from your apartment, so you managed to get over to his part of Tokyo in time to see Akemi and Himari training together. It's definitely a sight to behold.
The second Jun calls a break, Himari pretty much flops onto the floor. "Oh god… tired." You can practically see steam floating off of her head. Yikes.
Meanwhile, Akemi just sheathes her katana again, and wipes a bead of sweat off of her forehead. "You'll live, just go and get some water."
You've just been sitting on the floor, enjoying the show. Definitely not the worst thing you could be doing with your time.
>Definitely very entertaining.
Also, after some sleep, it doesn't feel like you're getting a chat log beamed into your brain whenever one of the Malice girls speak, so that's also nice. Purrson theorized that it was because of your brain or "soul" acclimating, but the more you think about that the bigger your headache gets. So maybe best to leave that on the back burner for now.
As you're ruminating, Purrson leaps onto your shoulder. "Do you think that they'll make a breakthrough or something? So far, it's just been routine training…"
You just smile, and pet the cat (-like being) on your shoulder. "Oh please, they haven't even started yet."
After some huffing and puffing, Himari gets back up, and cracks her neck. "Alright, I'm ready for the next round now. Jun! Toss me my things!"
The boy in question quickly looks up from his laptop, gets off the cooler he was sitting on, and tosses something over to Himari. She extends her arm out sideways, and without even looking in its direction she catches—
A half-filled energy drink.
Himari blinks, before actually looking at the thing in her hands. She chugs it down, before looking at Jun with annoyance in her eyes. Well, at least you think so, considering you can't see anything in her eyes.
"Akimitsu, I'm glad that you didn't buy us the sugary cash grab from any influencers," she says, "But I wanted the other thing, please."
No, you were right the first time. She's pissed.
If Jun's scared of the assassin girl that could tear his throat out, he doesn't show it. He silently grabs something from behind the cooler and lobs it at Himari. This time, she looks at what she's catching.
In her hands. Himari holds a thin piece of sheet metal. She bends it a bit, speaking as she does. "Me and Jun tested this out a bit, before you guys got here. My contract with the Void allowed me to have a greater connection with technology. That essentially means that—"
She flexes her arm a bit, wrapping the sheet of metal around her limb.
"I had an instant connection to any computer, phone, or VR set. I could hack things at the speed of a specialized HumaGear or program, as long as I was touching the device with one of my hands. But after some experimentation, I also realized that…"
[Himari Mental Check; DC 60/80/100]
[64+25=89. Great Success!]
The sheet of metal curls, with part of it detaching off of the larger sheet and sticking itself to the top of the metal. More pieces fly away, and are bolted together by some strange magnetic force, before all that's left of the sheet of metal is a bracelet on Himari's arm… and metal in the shape of a slingshot.
"…with the right sort of metal and some thinking, I can sort of partially recreate some of the mechanical things I've seen before."
Jun closes his laptop to watch, and nods. "We tested it out. It only works with small pieces of metal, but that sheet metal I got for her is pretty cheap in the long run. Aside from that, we haven't tested it in her "Magical Form" either, so it could be even better than what you see here."
"Yeah, I have a feeling that I could probably recreate the thing that that Archfiend dude did if I put my mind to it," Himari says, "but enough talk. Here's a demonstration."
Himari grabs a small piece of sheet metal, about as big as the tip of your thumb, and places it in the slingshot of scrap. It stays floating, held in place by the magnetic force. Himari slowly pulls back the ball, Purrson sinks into the floor in fear, and Akemi squats down.
>This would be a good point to duck.
The Red Queen doesn't need to say it again! As Himari pulls back the scrap projectile, you duck— just in time as well. The magnetic force flings the scrap metal past you, right by Jun's ear (he doesn't even react), and hits the fence of the roof… going straight through the fence instead of bouncing off of it.
As you get up from the floor, you feel some mixture of impressed and scared for your life. There's a gaping hole in the fence, one that you could probably crawl through. She hasn't even transformed yet! And it already broke through metal!
Akemi whistles. "Goddamn, that's one hell of a shot. Can you undo that?"
Himari nods. "Yeah, the only thing I lose is the actual projectile. The actual sheet metal is pretty flexible. I hear this guy called Nakayama designed it. Cool dude."
Don't you know the guy?
>Don't worry, we've got time later for introductions!
Akemi then grins and— oh no.
[Social Check; DC 40]
[AUTOPASS (Old Friends)]
She's doing that thing again.
[WHAT]
That thing where she has an idea that's extremely dangerous and extremely cool. "Akemi, please don't do something that'll blow off a limb."
She laughs, smiling with so much confidence in her eyes. "Oh don't worry Rei, it'll be fine," she says, "and besides, I actually need you to just stand right there for now."
Purrson climbs off her shoulder, and you stand there, stock-still. "Akemi…"
You blink. "Something about seeing the battlefield as some sort of chessboard, and considering it from all angles? That load of hogwash?"
Akemi places a hand on her katana, the one Purrson called the "Voidcutter". Zero points for guessing what he and Akemi want it to cut. "Well, I've been working on my swordplay. As it turns out, I can do the same thing… when I have my point of view focused on someone other than myself. Himari, fire at Rei!"
[Akemi Physical Check; DC 60/80/100]
[93+12=105. Incredible Success!]
Oh shit— [OHNO]
Your joints lock up in shock, as Himari's arm aims at you and you see a piece of scrap loaded on her slingshot. You close your eyes involuntarily before—
SHING!!!
You open your eyes again. As you touch your face to check that your cheeks aren't missing, you look at Akemi. It doesn't even look like she's moved from when you last saw her.
Akemi points behind you. "Hey, take a look."
You turn around and bend over, to pick up the scrap metal projectile. It's been… perfectly sliced in half. The two halves don't even look like they were part of the same object.
Himari slaps Akemi on the back of the head. "Don't give me weird orders like that, geez! It's a good thing you saved me during the Archfiend fight, or I would have thought to aim at you instead!"
Akemi just giggles. "Hey, I had to feel the rush in order to get both my arms and Void contract working. From what I can tell, it only actually starts flaring up at full power when I'm hyped up or one of my friends is in danger." She looks over at you. "Y'know, friends like you, Rei."
…it's nice to know that she still cares about you after all this time.
"This still doesn't excuse you aiming a mini particle accelerator at me, though." you say to Akemi.
"You've fought sharks before, you can take a hit to the shoulder." Akemi responds.
"Akemi, I don't think that you're really listening to what Rei's saying."
"I think you should stay out of this, Schrödinger's Kitty."
"I get that I've been on my laptop this whole time, but can you guys not talk to the invisible beings without translating?!"
Himari learned a new passive and a new skill!
By reassessing her powers, she gained +4 to Mental and +2 to Physical!
Akemi learned a new passive and a new skill!
By focusing on protecting those she loves, (and scaring the crap out of you) she gained +5 to Physical and +3 to Social!
Himari [Technopathy: Improvised]
Passive
This character can have an unlimited amount of Equipment equipped, as long as the equipment has the (Improvised) trait. Basic Attacks are not replaced by each piece of equipment, but instead have the damaging dice and any traits from that piece of equipment added to them!
Slingshot Tosser
(Usable 2 Times Per Scene)
DC: 20/50
Gather your power with a technical roll. For every 10 rolled above DC, add 5 to the next roll. Then, roll a Physical roll that deals 2d6 Force damage and can hit faraway enemies. Set [Scrap Slingshot] as this character's equipment.
Scrap Slingshot
Improvised (This piece of Equipment breaks after one more use.)
Gain 1d6 more Blunt damage on your next basic attack. As long as the opponent can be seen, this basic attack can ignore range.
Akemi [Unbending]
Passive
When an ally goes to 25% HP or less, Akemi automatically gains Taunt 3, and uses Prepared Parry on that ally. While she is in this state, she takes -5 damage until the end of her next turn, and triggers Prepared Parry's counterattack if she is attacked as well. This may only trigger twice per battle.
Prepared Parry
(Usable Twice Per Scene)
DC: 60
Choose one character to place under Protection, and roll a Physical roll. (This roll has an additional +20 modifier if targeting Rei or Himari. Akemi may have any number of characters under Protection.)
The next time an enemy attacks a character under Protection, if their attack roll was lower than Akemi's Protection roll, Akemi will cancel that attack (some powerful attacks will instead be redirected to her), and deal 3d5 Blunt/Slash damage to them. (If Akemi was in the Sheathed state, she may also choose to unsheathe for a +10 damage bonus.)
A Few Minutes Later
Still On Jun's Roof
Jun's already packed up with Himari, and gone downstairs. Something about tickets for Shonai and so many other places being "stupid hard to get even with their combined hacking skills".
Akemi admires the city for a bit, before she turns to the stairs. You play on your phone a bit, collecting dailies for a gacha game you play in your off time. Then, before she goes back into Jun's room to help, you suddenly remember one last thing you need to do.
"Oh, by the way, before we go, could you also touch my deck?"
Both Akemi and Purrson's heads snap back to look at you, and something in your gut tells you that you probably could have done that better.
[REALLY?]
>Bruh moment
>Rei. Phrasing.
You quickly hold up your deck of mysterious cards, the back still adorned with the same picture brownish portal. "Not in that way! Not at all! It's for transforming stuff!"
Akemi looks at you in exasperation. "…Rei, that makes it sound worse. Do you realize how that makes it sound worse?"
Purrson hops off of Akemi's shoulder. "No, it's my fault. I said that anybody who was a Rider, Magical Girl, or Void-affiliated could probably awaken the spirits slumbering in that deck. I was definitely hoping that you would have a better idea of how to introduce that concept, however."
"Well what do you want me to do, then? Card tricks?!"
>…That might actually be a good idea. Filter through enough people, you're almost guaranteed to wake up someone in here, or at least make some money on the streets.
Akemi just sighs, and reaches out her hand. "Yellow mouse girl, please stop talking. Can I just have the thing for a second, Rei?"
You gladly oblige, throwing it over. Akemi splits the deck into two piles, shuffling it a bit, taking a look at the picture of Atry and Gargoyle, and throwing it back. "Tell Miss Blue Hair that I'm glad that she saved you. And then go get some soap."
"Wait, some soap?"
"To wash out your mouth with, duh." Akemi sticks her tounge out at you, and you can't help but sigh.
As you follow her back down the stairs, you take a quick look at the blank card that Akemi first touched. It glows with a faint light… [ ] Illegal Knight
Illegal Knight
A knight, who appears out of nowhere to fight adventurers in any form. He… uh, she… uh… they??? are a complete enigma, without a race, a past, or even any future. The only thing that is known about them (it???) is that they were cursed by a certain piece of magic long ago.
Specialties:
-Disguises
-Poker faces
-Not giving a fuck
Stat Bonuses:
Physical: +45
Passive:
[Blankest Slate]
While in this form, you gain immunity to any and all status effects aside from the ones from this form. This means that while you cannot gain damage and dodge chance buffs, you cannot lose turns, get your damage lowered, or take DoT (Damage Over Time).
When you swap into this form, all status effects are automatically cleared.
Moves:
Basic Attack
Deals slash damage with your sword.
Giga Break
Deals Blunt damage with a hefty punch. Gain some Temporary Health, and designate yourself or one of your allies with Taunt 2 or 3.
Purge Soul
If an enemy or ally tried to afflict you with a status condition/buff/debuff last turn, you may target any character. Deal Dark damage to them, and use this attack again if you targeted a character who tried. Repeated uses of this move multiply the damage.
Curse Of Aramesir
(Finishing Move)
Pay 1/8th of your health, rounded up, to use this move. Deals Dark damage to an enemy, equal to 25% of their health. This has a chance to insta-kill if the enemy had less than 50% HP.
If you are above 50% Health, this does not trigger the finishing move clause and may be used repeatedly in one turn.
[ ] The Swordsoul
Swordsoul Novices
A group of powerful warriors, who train alongside each other in the hopes of reaching greater and greater heights in the art of swordplay. Their secret arts allow them to attune their hearts with their swords, allowing them to cultivate even greater strength.
Specialties:
-Swords
-Codes of honor
-Wyrms (Not dragons, that's a different thing!)
Stat Bonuses:
Physical: +25
Magical: +30
Passives:
[Awakening: Secret Sword Arts]
Anytime Slash damage is dealt to either you or an enemy, gain Awakening equal to half that amount of damage.
[Swordsoul Together]
Anytime a summon of yours is attacked while you are in this form, you do a counter attack for slash damage.
Moves:
Basic Attack
Deals slash damage with your sword.
Mo Ye - Soul Clone
Magical
Summon a water clone of yourself, which lasts 2-3 turns, cannot be hit by physical attacks as long as you are in a Swordsoul form, and has Taunt 2, Health: 2, Physical 25, and uses your Basic Attack. If you go higher than required DC, this clone has more Physical (but not more Health).
Taia - With The Wyrms
Summon Auspice Chunjun for 2 turns (you may only have two Auspices on field at once). Whenever you or an allied character (that isn't itself!) does Slash damage, it does a follow-up attack, hitting for Slash damage with its claws. It has Health: 40, Magical 20, and Physical 30, and also hits with a basic attack on its own turn. If you go higher than required DC, this summon has more Magical.
Swordsoul Blackout
(AoE, Targets 2)
Sacrifice either a quarter of your health or a small amount of a summon's health (this damage can kill you, it cannot kill a summon) to deal strong Slash and Water damage to 2 targets. Swordsoul Grandmasters
Requires 50 Awakening (20 must be from [Awakening: Secret Sword Arts])
Stat Bonuses
Physical: +35
Magical: +45
Passive:
[Attuned Swordsoul]
While you are in this form, you make a Physical check when you are targeted by any physical attacks, and a Magical check when you are targeted by anything else. If you roll higher than the enemy's DC, you parry that attack, canceling the attack and dealing Slash damage back.
(Certain moves cannot be fully parried— you'll instead take half damage and then do the counter attack.)
After three turns spent in this form, you go back to the Swordsoul Novices form.
Moves:
Swordsoul Fundamentals
Use any of the moves from Swordsoul Novices— twice. (Swordsoul Blackout only needs to sacrifice health once.)
Chixiao - Full Negation
This move can only be used when a summon is on the field or if a summon has already expired/died this combat. Deals Slash and Water damage, and then negates the effects of all of an enemy's passives for 2 turns. Going over DC prolongs this negation.
Chengying - Banishing Sword
Hit an enemy with a large amount of Slash and Light Damage. When an enemy is hit by this, they cannot raise other enemies from the dead and cannot heal for the next 3 turns. Going over DC prolongs this negation.
Deals Light and Slash damage (whichever one hits harder) to one enemy. If they are related to the Void (Dark Magical Girl, Dark Kamen Rider, Shade, ???) and this does enough damage to kill, you may use this attack on any other number of Void-aligned enemies.
[ ] Secret Six Samurai
Secret Six Samurai
These ronin were all outcasts and misfits, until they were taken in by one of the greatest groups of Samurai known to ancient japan. While their names have gone forgotten, they have gone from lowly peasants to some of the greatest spies in the world. If you can see them, it's already too late.
Specialties:
-Stealth
-Parkour!
-Ninja stuff
Stat Bonuses:
Physical: +15
Magical: +40
Passives:
[Sneak Attack!]
If for some reason, you are able to completely surprise an enemy, (Here, completely surprised narratively means that they were not aware of your presence and didn't react to you in time,) you gain a guaranteed first turn in initiative, two actions on your next turn of combat, and advantage on each DC.
[Thieves Guild]
While in this form, you may swap forms at the end of your turn. Swapping into another [Thieves Guild] aligned form gives stat bonuses.
[A Killer's Motto]
Using Assassin's Guild techniques or Equipment (like your gun) with this form has a +10 bonus to that roll.
Moves:
Basic Attack
Deals ranged pierce damage with a shuriken.
Stealthing!
Magical
Turn you or an ally invisible until they make another attack. While in this state, they are considered to have Taunt -2, and if an enemy tries to hit them, they must roll with disadvantage and a -20 modifier unless it makes narrative sense otherwise.
Samurai Smoke Bomb
(AoE)
Magical
Temporarily [Blind] up to five enemies, giving them -30 to their hit rolls and making them possibly hit their own allies. You and any allies can see through the smoke this generates.
Gateway/Getaway Of The Samurai
Magical
Set up a summon, Sacred Gateway, at any place within your vision. (It has 10 Health and no stats.) As long as it's on field, you and any of your teammates can teleport there at will, giving you a free dodge. When your enemies figure this out (and they will figure it out, it just depends on how fast they do), they will try and destroy it. You may also use this to [Run Away] with a higher success chance.
Ninpo Dash
Dash up to an enemy, and hit them so fast that they take blunt damage and have disadvantage on their next roll. You may also use this to [Run Away] with a higher success chance, and this ignores the effects of enemies with [Enhanced Speed].
[X] Plan Focused Efforts

Author's Note:
Testing out a new style of rolls, one closer to something another QM uses. Tell me if you like it.
Aside from that, not much to say here, the training arc is real and Himari and Akemi are going through it. Don't worry about Rei, she'll get her ass kicked later.
Also, you guys were not supposed to get Unbending so early. Like, that passive was intended for Akemi as an end of arc 1 thing. That was fast.
Oh, and remember to vote for the Card Spirit/form/Overlay you like the most! Happy voting, heroes.
