While Spirit Commune is very hard to trigger, it is possible for you to both power-level Magical and upgrade it on your next level up.

However, Assasin Skills, both of em, have some absurd BS at their ends. And taking cat attack opens up such attacks as:

-Punch them while they're monologuing
-groin attack
-shoot them mid transformation (there's a one second window, but that's enough.)

For ride, Acceltech is the better choice, since Lucky makes it more likely for us to be hit with a crit fail on the Random Event Roll, which is not a good thing (it technically also makes it more likely for us to crir succeed, but given the dices we're rolling, we are getting crit successes once in a blue moon at best). One Free Explore on the other hand is significantly less risky and gives us more space for actions, as an exploration could be used to help out in searches, an area in which we have a bit of a problem.

Tentatively voting for the Level plans, but I'll wait and see if people are willing to chime in about what we want to get out of our level-ups.

Oh by the way, the leads that Jun got have all been added to your next week and are all ready for you to take. Thanks to that 79+30 roll that @WayWard_Animal did, you guys have… a very wide range of options, let me just say that.
 
@Kermie so question about setting: there's nothing really preventing a Yokai from becoming a Kamen/Kaijin Rider, is there? They'd most likely just use their own energy/magic to fuel the transformation, yeah?

On a related note, is Tamamo-no-mae just a legend or did she actually exist in this setting?

Yes these questions have connected relevance for me. No I will not elaborate(yet).

You've already seen Yuki, so there's no point in me denying that yokai exist. However, I will not confirm or deny anything about yokai and her until Rei meets Yuki or another yokai herself.

At the moment, Rei and the gang still think that yokai are myths. (Purrson is something else, but Rei and Akemi don't have specifics... yet.)

Basically, RAFO. (Read And Find Out).
 
However, I do appreciate the questions! Any of you guys can ask me anything about the setting (which I fleshed out a lot more while I was on break) and the magic, and I'll answer as long as it's either common knowledge in the setting or something Rei, Himari, Akemi, or Jun would reasonably know.

So I saw in an earlier post that someone... I forget who mentioned that different non 4 element Runes are usually just a mix of those Runes and Rei said that she heard whispers about a Darkness Rune existing.

What's the deets on them Runes Kermie?~

Action econ can get very bad. I've seen it happen a lot with some of the quests I've seen with so much to do and not enough actions to feel like you can really make an impact since people want to see the ideas and scenarios that the QM puts together. People see everything going on and want to try and at least make anything they can better.

Why would we choose anything else then giving us more room to see and interact with this wonderful world so far? (and give Kermie a chance to show more world building organically because why not?)

Ok! So:
  1. Your terminology's off. Runes are the memories inscribed into each Glyph to make them do something. Glyphs are natural buildups of natural mana, which is the "generic magic energy" of the world.
  2. Rei doesn't know all of them off of the top of her head, but combining Glyphs to get different effects is pretty common. For some examples:
  3. Earth + Water = Wood
  4. Fire + Water = Smoke
  5. Water + Earth = Ice (yes, the order matters)
  6. All of the above glyphs can also be found naturally, but are less common than the first 4-element combo.
  7. The Darkness/Void Glyph is the one on Rei's arm (right hand), that she gained back in 1.1. It's (surprisingly) connected to the Void. The rest, you'll have to take a Major Action with either Kira and Purrson to find out.

So Void... well it has evil vibes right? Some sort of perversion of the idea of Aether instead of being it itself with how dangerous it seems to be and the monsters it's creating/summoning.

Realm's current theory is this: In order to purify a Void Gylph into Aether or whatever a non evil version of it would be, it would have to be unioned with the other four Elements- And since order matters...

Fire
Wind
Void
Earth
Water

If these are the classical elements I think them to be and order matters it would have to be layers like so, like a stack. A reflection of the world if you will. To create balance within the darkness and to return what was lost.

The Sun, The Sky, The Sand, The Sea, surrounding The Soul of the World itself, mending The Scars and saving The Self.

I don't know what it would do exactly, I have ideas for sure but can't say for certain. I do know I like how it sounds at least!

I hadn't realized you'd started another quest, and starting to read through this, I already remember one of my problems with your questing, Kermie. You don't in any way say what votes won! Makes reading difficult, to catch up.

It seems this isn't a problem past character creation. That's good, lol.

In all honesty, Space Oddity was an extremely experimental thing. I spent a good while working on a system that can best be described as "half baked", and some of the plot divergences that came up were also things I really should have thought through. I've considered a reboot a few times.

I'm glad that you just finished up catching up, though! Seriously, you were fast. I recommend reading the Sidestories next: they're really good as well.

(It's three seperate d20 tables per Grade of tech, yet you still got 2/3 stuff you've seen before…)
 
Look, sometimes you just need to take a step back from your work when your facing a block.

Get him a wonderful bubble bath and some selfcare, next time he'll be back and able to make things just like before!
