The word cream got to me lol.

This should work rather well. From what I remember, Stella liked classy or sweet drinks.

I'm finding it funny that as a guy with nearly no experience with alcohol, I'm coming up with the combinations and they're working out!

Now that I think about it, what's the connection between beer and any other alcoholic drink? From Jill's experience, most beer drinkers also fall heavily into the collection of whiskey drinkers. That being said though, there was a huge difference in APV. The beer that Jill served had about 15% APV and most common whiskey's would have around 40%. Glancing at Stella again, Jill turned back around to face the rack of bottles. What an unusual customer.

Running her hands along the glass bottles, Jill's brow was furrowed. Stella was friends with Sei, so they likely shared the same tastes. If I remember correctly, Sei wanted something sweet. The Cream Lothar PX bottle was taken from the stand and it clunked as it hit the counter. As for the mix, Stella was also here for pleasure, since Sei wasn't showing up at all. The gin wouldn't do anything but make the drink more alcoholic, and the aged wine would only serve to make it overly sweet. Tequila it is then.

Feeling a little pleased with herself, Jill quickly measured out and strained the drink. Now that she thought about it, this recipe seemed familiar. Maybe it was her time spent in the bar-tending school course?

Quickly adding small ice cubes to the mix, Jill carefully brought the finished drink over to Stella's booth, who looked over curiously at the frothy slightly pink alcohol. Setting it light in front of Stella, Jill murmured, "Tequila Rose on the rocks. Sweet and classy, with a lower apv than normal distilled spirits, but still higher than beer or average drinks."

"Isn't that interesting," Experimentally, Stella shook it side to side, before bringing it to her lips, "Can't say I've heard of this one before. Well, here goes."

Jill waited with bated breath as Stella drank...and drank...and drank. Finally, Stella slammed the glass on the table, with only a bit of froth sitting at the bottom of the cup as its only contents. Ears twitching happily, Stella's face lit up into a smile, her cheeks tinted a rosy red, "Wow, Jill, that was something else! I'll take another."

Another glass of drink later, and Jill was back at the table, Tequila Rose in hand.

With a hiccup, Stella looked up at Jill, "Sei certainly knows how to choose 'em. I think the old adage of 'don't judge a book' by its cover applies here pretty handily. No offense."

Jill smiled, "None taken. I know the look of the place I work at."

"Here, take a seat!" Stella motioned to the seat across from her, "I usually have to question the people that Sei hangs out with anyway."

Glancing over her shoulder, Jill saw no one at the bar counter. Dana was busily scrubbing down the sink of glasses, "Alright, sure. I'll gladly answer whatever questions you have, so long as I get to ask a few of my own."

"Is it about my eye?"

"No, I don't think so."

With a smaller sip, Stella relished the taste of her Tequila Rose, "Good, that explanation usually requires a bit of time. How did you come about to working here?"

"It's not as exciting as you'd probably expect. It just kinda happened. I think this was the first place I applied to when I arrived in Glitch City and it was also the place that called back the quickest. Dana said she'd hire me, but only if I went to this shabby little bartending school."

"Oh, so you're not originally from Glitch City then?"

"Nope, I lived in San Francisco III for awhile with my parents. Things happened, and I made it out here."

"Trouble in paradise, huh? I wish I could say the same, but I was actually born here in Glitch City. My parents eventually moved elsewhere, but I didn't. Lucky too, or Sei would have no one watch over her. She's too honest for this place."

"Mmm. My turn then. Hope it isn't too personal, but I don't often see Cat Boomers. You're the first one I met, in fact. Was it because of the fad?"

Stella placed a hand against her forehead, a look of pain on her face, "Ugh, don't remind me. I got swept in the "get animal characteristics because it's cool!" phase when I was younger. What can I say, I was a very impressionable kid."

In a rare display, Jill laughed, "Why didn't you just revert the surgery? I'm told a lot of people opted for that after realizing that some of those animal characteristics sometimes made their senses a little too...sensitive."

"Yeah, you're telling me. It took a long time for me to get used to the noise of city life again. As for the surgery, I uh, tried. But the nanomachines...they didn't recognize me as human or something. At least, that's what the doctors told me. They got a little...frantic."

Stella touched the corner of her cybernetic eye, a wistful look in her eye. Suddenly, a feeling of shame overcame Jill. There was a moment of awkward silence.

"I apologize. I didn't realize I was prying."

"Don't worry about it. All the interesting bits about me come back to the eye. In fact, Sei is the one who lifted my spirits about it all those years ago, you know.I got real depressed about it. As you can see, the cybernetic had to be more invasive. It's much more obvious than your normal cybernetic eye."

In one long drought, Stella finished her drink and looked at Jill, "I think she was the first to tell it looked pretty. Like a star floating in the night. Thanks for the drink, Jill, I'm sure I'll be back. With Sei as well, hopefully."

Helping an unsteady Stella to her feet, Jill escorted her out the door, quiet as a rock.

"Please come again."

20 Credit Tip Received!

"It's gettin' late. Jill, go on home, I'll close up tonight."

"Thanks, boss. See ya tomorrow."

The night was chilly, but it certainly wasn't freezing. No wind chill to be had. Jill noticed a few people walking the streets, despite the late hour. Much like the downtown of Glitch City itself, the Barrens never truly slept either. The clouds parted, revealing a full moon. What idyllic scenery. Even with all the light pollution out, the stars were slightly visible. Stella's voice drifted back into Jill's head.

I think she was the first to tell me it looked pretty. Like a star floating in the night.

A smile swept over Jill's face. With a pep in her step, she continued on down the sidewalk.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding this mysterious hacker(s) since the White Knights quelled riots caused by leakage of classified information, which the hacker(s) gleefully claimed credit for.

On the 8th of August, nearly a thousand pages worth of classified information and reports were uploaded and given to local news networks. Allegations of corruption and tax evasion were soon aimed at said corporation by both the government and other corps. But most damning of all, were the reports that the corp had been snatching the homeless and poor from the downtrodden community of The Barrens.

Marchers and protesters gathered outside the headquarters of the corp, who had deployed their own security force. What was a peaceful protest soon turned violent as multiple altercations between the security and demonstrators erupted into a full blown riot. A large part of central Glitch City felt the wrath of its people as many businesses burned, and gunshots echoed for nearly a week afterwards. The White Knights soon regained control.

As for the corp, stocks are at all an all time low as----

September 27th
Blowing on her hands to warm them up, Jill quickly pushed into Valhalla, the warmth a welcome respite from the unforgiving breeze. I really, really need a car. Or at least a fucking bus pass. For once, her cheeks weren't tinted red from beers. With a huff, Jill tookd off her coat, still shivering a bit from the cold. A quick glance over the room revealed two patrons...but not Boss. Weird, I don't think she had an excuse to go out today.

Coat thrown over her shoulder, Jill strode to the Dana's office. Located in the same hallway as the restrooms, it wasn't particularly hard to find. But this time, the metal door was shut, and the shutter was closed over the bullet proof glass. It was clear the Boss wanted some privacy. What kind of privacy though? Was it business related or personal? Eh, I still need to check in if I want to be paid for the time I showed up.

Just as Jill turned the handle, the door swung wide open, revealing a surprised young man with short cut black hair. His chin sported a groomed goatee. He's taller than me. He was also quite the looker, but damned if Jill was gonna let that slip out. Behind his tall figure, a familiar face peeked out from behind it.

"Oh, hey, Boss. Just checkin' in to let you know I'm here."

"Thanks! It's super chilly out, isn't it? Half expected you to call in sick. Anyway, this is our new part timer." A sneaky grin overcame Dana's face as she turned to the man, "This is our regular. Be nice to each other, okay Jill?"

"Sure." Both piped up in response. There was a moment of confusion as both Jill and the man looked at each other, sizing one another up.

"Wait, your name is Jill? With a J?"

"Er, kind of. It's Gill with a G, actually."

Dana busted out laughing, clapping her hands in delight, "I can think of 30 ways this just brightened up my day."

Jill frowned, "Yeah, that's one hell of a coincidence. Is your full name Gillian or something?"

"Yes, ma'am. But why do you call yourself 'Jill'? Your full name is Julianne--"

"Do NOT call me that. How do you even know that?!"

"E-eh? Why is that such a big deal? We can turn your nickname to 'Jules' or something. That sounds much better anyway!"

"BOSS! Did you tell him my real name?!"

Dana had already cleared the bar, locking herself into her office, but she called out in a muffled voice, "Just an accident, Jill! He saw your file I left open when I was preparing for a regional meeting. Don't worry about it. No one knows why you hate being called--"

"Irrelevant, Boss. Anyway, YOU." Jill pointed a finger at Gill, a cloud of anger resting in her eyes, "I think you have more of a John face. You're too plain." Patently untrue.

"Wait, J-john? You don't have to call me 'Gill', go ahead and call me by my full name--"

"Quiet, Greg. We got work to do. Did Boss train you or am I going to have to?"

Gillian blinked. Events were moving too quickly for him!

"I'm good. Dana helped me earlier this week."

"Isn't that nice? Boss being thoughtful, eh?"

"Not my fault, Jill!"

"What? Oh, you mean her. Sorry."

With a hand pressed against her forehead, Jill planted herself behind the counter. She hated being called by her full name. As for Gillian, he tip toed to the other end of the counter, wisely giving Jill the space she needed to collect herself. There weren't many things that could spur an outburst out of her like that, but that was definitely one of them. Quite the introduction with the part timer.

Do I need to read it again to figure out the Julian thing and I missed something? Either way, don't know much about fancy drinks so this'll be hilarious.
