Played a good game on Temple of Anubis Defence as Zenyatta. I'm sure the enemy Junkrat hated me, because every time he tried dropping his Rip-Tire on us, I responded with my own ultimate and sat on it until the timer ran out.
... Even if he couldn't kill you, he could still nuke the rest of your team, right? Probably better to just shoot it.

I like how there's no queue for competitive matches. It's like the game is saying "Are you sure you wanna do this? Really sure?"

More seriously, I've played like two comp matches. So far both times, there's at least one guy on my team who claims he's carrying all the weight and that everyone else is low tier scum. That's a quote by the way. Why do people play this mode.

That's cause you're in elohell.

I'm in elohell*.

qq

*not actually true cause I'm a bad player that deserves my rank

Quad-kill POTG as Reinhardt on Route 66. Feels good.

(The fourth kill was totally by accident. Mech-less D.Va ran into my swing while I was killing someone else)

I don't understand why people get so serious about noncompetitive play, I mean, if people aren't allowed to have fun, then why even play?

Playing to win is fun. If you don't see the enjoyment in having a well put together team that acts as a single whole then you can just do quick play instead, no harm.

It may be my years of Dota playing talking, but the community really hasn't seemed very toxic to me. There's the occasional person (90% of the time on the other team as handling team morale is pretty easy) who kvetches, but just have a mic, do call outs, and tell your team they're doing good when you have a chance and you'll avoid that.

I mean, I like winning yes, but I have watched some major blowouts over losses and I just, don't get it, why would you do that to yourself.

I like the pain.

But more seriously, its the bling. The gold color bling. Otherwise i wouldn't go to competitive.

So I found this.

Speaking of which, I got a team-kill completely by accident. It was the escort portion of Hollywood, and I hit the boost to try and chase down a Torbjorn. Saw two more enemies as I rounded the corner, so I bailed out with the self-destruct - and apparently all but one of them were back there, so I got a quintuple just from that, with number six going down to me shooting him in the back about three seconds later.

Being a longtime Dota player has inoculated me to flaming in videogames. Sith Lords and Daleks got nothing on them.
How to learn Doto: find 4 friends who are willing to put up with your newbie ass. Do whatever makes them scream the least at you until you get to the point where you can scream back at them for errors.

But really, 50% of the game in pub doto is morale. It's reasonably huge in Overwatch as well; just being a nice person and calling out good kills and moves in chat helps a huge deal.

Holy shit, this is just evil...like master mind evil..
Yes it's fake, but still.

Rank 60 in Competitive has been tagged. Those 200 points will be mine at the end of the season!
Same, I just need to win 15 more matches and I'll be able to bling up Reinhardt's hammer at end of season.

Unfortunately I think matchmaking took that as a challenge to actually 15 more matches as hard as possible. :V

(Or I'm just now in a new bracket of pain, either two.)

I kill Genjis BTW. I kill them as hard and as often as I possibly can :V
Fuck Genjis. There was a Genji that I swear had a vendetta against Mercy that was continuously coming after me the entire game. It was the worst game I've had in a while, between that and my dipshit team not understanding that I was able to support a push with Resurrect and being a bunch of pansies.
