What, that the Gorman Brothers are, as the brits would say, pillocks? Yeah, known that since Majora's Mask. The tapestry is a bit disturbing, but not entirely out of line with what we know and have come to expect from the empire.

Or, is this a case of "what isn't there that should be" that I have completely missed?
Looks like there is something weird going on with the regency council in Midna's kingdom considering how they treated her.

[X] Talk with Malon, discuss the paintings.

Not really.

Power hungry nobles + an heir that is neither pliable to the nobility nor sufficiently strong to bend them to her will = an endless regency council until one side or another finally gets fed up enough and either places a different noble on the throne (often due to the heir... disappearing, or dying of natural causes (poisonous mushrooms are quite dangerous and sometimes look and taste like mushrooms that are not)), or because the regency council is faced with the support the heir has access to in either the population, the military (lower ranked nobility in most cases) or both and decides to fold instead of lose their heads.

If that doesn't happen, well. Civil war is pretty likely.

2.2 million before you sell all the stuff you looted plus 10,000 Rupees in stolen silverware.

Compared to the 2.2 million rupees, the other loot is likely to be a rounding error (no seriously, that 10 000 rupees worth of silverware is a rounding error). Quite frankly, given how easy it is for Zelda and the team to lug it around it'd be more useful to use the loot to furnish a shrine whenever they need, use the cloth for high class clothing if they need it, and just use the maps and everything else as necessary.

Well, perhaps move part of the silverware to Kakariko, I'm sure they can use some extra utensils or something.

I bet the thing they're going to be most confused about is how the hell someone snuck out of there with that many rupees.

2 million rupees is not easy to carry without a bag of holding, even if its all gold rupees.

I should remind you guys to always keep in mind the value of proper equipment. :V

And because I doubt there's anyone who spent the amount of time I did looking up medieval incomes and what percentage of that was affording a set of full plate how odd it is that a land as misused as this is pulling in income that matches the ratio of affording proper Hylian full plate. :V

As for Midna, I'm of two minds whether to tell you guys what her deal is that you're missing or just keep hinting at it. Leave it up to you guys to decide whether you want me to tell you.

seems more people are going with this, interesting. Though something tells me that we may have to storm the Gormans while armed. I doubt they are going to let us take what we want without a fight since it's becoming clear that they are going to know that we are coming.

Alright, but will spoiler if people don't just want to be told it.
Yeah, the whole talking to people and not getting the conversation, hyperfocus on her interests, viewed as strange despite acting in a way she thinks is appropriate?

She has a disorder in a period where no one knows what that is.

A fair point, but at the same time, IIRC in the time periods where full plate was common equipment (the High/Late Medieval era), a knight's fief should be able to support that sort of investment, and the Goreman are decidedly more than knights. I'm getting the feeling that the place is a fairly sizable town with some decent economic activity going on, even if it is disastrously mismanaged.

Prices are more leaning towards Greenwich armour levels and other contemporary armour to that, though far more for practical battlefield duties rather than artistic and tournament pieces.

Proper Goron made Hylian armour is absurdly high quality.

I picked that up right quick - it reminds me of many events in my own history.

Its 3 am they are all probably asleep by now.

Then it will be a short interlude before the next day.

My concern is that if Zelda goes down the reading rabbit hole, she will be drowsy when everyone else is up, and that increases the chance she may miss some clue when the book scanning starts. Besides, there is the possibility that people are awake, and it'd be good to touch base if we missed anything while we were away.

Books is "Sleep is for the weak" for clarification.

Also Paya and "sleep" are two things that are never together. :V

Of course Midna is literally a magical princess from another dimension, so any quirks would have been brushed off by readers and in-universe characters as "not from this world". Also the rest of the heroes are about as quirky as she is.
