[X] Take Sif and Elrora out.

Got to take our wolf dog out for a walk.

Ok, it took the last 4 days, but I finally managed to catch up.

Edit: I am liking the character interactions.

Edit2: Can someone give my the overall situation at this point? The Zora guys are brought back to Kakiyo village and are being integrated nicely, Pimpa tested Link because she thought he was possessed due to how suspiciously quickly he was learning, and now trains are in existence. Also we got a puppy.

Edit3: Oh, and also that time where we had almost 100k rupees was hilarious, what the fuck was up with that?

Zora are being integrated with their skills being put to use. Impa tested Link because of the way that his skills and abilities just increase by leaps and bounds and is highly abnormal, but its pretty much Link's past lives' abilities and skills being added to the current Link as he fights.

The trains are ancient Sheikah tech that the Yiga and the Empire is re-purposing for themselves, though the Yiga aren't as good as the Sheikah at utilizing the technology so they can't get full use of it and have to use essentially monkey model/kitbash train cars on the tracks.

On the rupees, we had a bunch of jewelry and other loot we managed to recover from the big temple after we killed the Big Octo, sold to Beedle for money.

Anyways, current situation:

Link and co. are basically in recuperation/prep/social stage. Preparing for the next quest/campaign/endeavor of starting to gather the maidens. We've got supplies and equipment squared away, so that's one worry out of the way.

Primary focus for us is helping in rebuilding Zelda's and others' mental well being. Because Zelda, Mipha, and Paya are all damaged in their own way. This is a very long term project.

Plan for the quest to secure the maidens is essentially to hitch rides on the trains to make getting at the maidens faster. We need the maidens safe and secure before we can do anything like initiating a revolt against the Empire. Especially since they are likely to be important in countering the Blood Moon.

Getting rid of the Blood Moon is essential in freeing up former Hylian army members (what's left of them anyways) from their current work in keeping Hyrulean people safe from constantly respawning monsters.

We also know that a significant part of the Hyrule navy is at large under the command of Admiral Linebeck, which is a good thing.

So, short is that we have the supplies and equipment we need. We are just trying to get some social stuff done and basically side questing right now.

[X] Play with Cottla and Koko.

Not gonna lie, this is starting to resemble Social Links/Dating Sims now, but it is amusing.

Also, how secure is that location anyways?

The village? Very secure. Since the paths to the village are mystically shielded from the mind and anyone that is not permitted to get to the village will find themselves hopelessly lost and scattered thanks to the gossip stones and the fairy magic that blesses the area.

Huh, that's good then.

I like this story even though it was a bitch to catch up on.

Edit: The part where Zelda likes reading those fantasy books reminds me of this.

Edit2: I am watching my favorite LPer play the game and I see where this Zelda is based on because BOTW Zelda is a fucking nerd! She tried to get Link to eat a frog.

[X] Take Sif and Elrora out.

Impa agrees to take Elrora out as you lead Sif out of the manor, Sif already a lot to handle on your own nevermind adding a rather large falcon into the mix. As you both leave Impa pauses to watch the girls sitting towards the back, Zelda was apparently reading from a book to entertain Cottla and Koko and her normal stoic demeanour suddenly seems wistful. You can't help but feel you made a mistake in your assessment of Impa's preferences and that Impa would have preferred spending time with her family, but you can't head over to them now as Sif drags you away from the manor.

Nevermind Elrora isn't exactly something you want around small children, what with the razor-sharp talons and beak.

You manage to just barely corral Sif towards an empty pasture Impa informs you that was where Elrora was trained, Impa luckily grabbing a large bag of preserved meat as you begin testing out Sif's abilities.

"He's remarkably well trained," Impa observes as Elrora lands on her wrist with a strip of meat in her talons, having caught it midair after diving in from a nearby tree.

"Yeah, he must have been someone's guard dog before he ran away," You say as Sif patiently sits and waits for a treat. Any composure he did have breaks as you give him a strip of meat as a treat, Sif happily snapping it up in his jaws.

From there you practice giving Sif orders of varying complexity with Impa volunteering to be the target after casting protective magic around herself, which was a bit of a surprise to you as a glowing aura surrounded her. It was remarkably easy for you to get Sif to follow some basic commands, Sif quickly lunging at Impa's throat or grabbing an arm and letting go at a word or whistle. Even some more complex orders he understood, though he obviously didn't understand more complex orders due to being a dog. Still, Sif was very astute and would often react in surprising intelligent ways to situations, as you and Impa tested by her "holding you up" with a stick to your throat and Sif choosing to sneak up and try to pull her off balance then try to tear out her throat.

When you finish even Impa is impressed, and she hands him an extra strip of meat as you all head back.

As the manor comes into sight you notice the girls heading inside, probably to eat dinner. You watch them step through the door, the elder girls laughing and smiling as the two girls excitedly recount something to them.

"Link..." Impa says suddenly.

"I'll protect them, no matter what," You respond, not taking your eyes off the girls.

"That wasn't what I was going to say."

You turn around, looking at Impa with mild confusion. To your surprise, she actually looked a bit concerned which actually made her look remarkably like Paya.

"Stay safe on your journey. Nothing is more important then you all coming home."

Your throat feels oddly tight as you nod.

++++
The next day you are finally setting off towards the gate that'll lead you towards the Nexus. As it should lead you right there you won't be taking the horses or Elrora or Sif, especially as it was apparently in the Hebra mountains. Still, Zelda had thankfully prepared a rather substantial list of the supplies you'll be taking after your exploration of whatever is on the other side of the Gate.

Whatever can reasonably fit or tied to a saddlebag for two horses

Assumption is at least 5 people due to potential of gaining maidens
Paya volunteered to be used as a weight average.

You've still got a few hours till you'll be journeying to the Gate, and you had taken the opportunity to eat a rather substantial breakfast as Zelda tried to figure out how she was going to carry all her various Sheikah weapons and actually be able to use them on the fly. Koko and Cottla had been taken home by their father, the problems at home having been apparently settled. Mipha was sitting next to you, quietly sipping on a tea Paya had prepared for her Zora tastes. Suddenly she jerks her head, an expression of concern developing on her scaled face.

"Something wrong?" You ask, looking over to where she was looking. There didn't seem to be anything over there, other then the gigantic form of Prince Sidon walking over with his Trident. Actually huh, that was quite a serious expression on his face, you'd never imagined the Zora Prince was capable of making an expression other than "Enthusiastic beaming." You look back over to Mipha, "Actually, your brother looks quite serious about something..."

"Y-yes..." She says, swallowing nervously, "Link I have something quite... shameful to admit. I've been... avoiding my brother..."

You recall the conversation you had with her, "He wouldn't be upset about that..... would he?"

She looks over at you, giving you a nervous grimace "I... I haven't told him about it b-but I um... spoke of it to Koko and Cottla..."

Ah... She was worried her brother had heard from Koko and Cottla that Mipha had taken on a far more nonviolent view and didn't desire to retake their homeland violently, as the Zora Prince had taken a shining to the village children. But Sidon had always seemed supportive and understanding... then again when you had met Mipha you had gotten the impression she was always going out on her own and even seemed to be drifting away from her fellow Zora. Just the uncertainty alone with her only family left must have been paralyzing, especially as she had been avoiding all her fellow Zora and hiding her fears regarding her newfound powers.

"Do you want me to go?"

She shakes her head, head fins swaying back and forth, "N-no, but I... I honestly don't know how my brother would receive you being here, and... just saying that makes my heart ache," She holds a hand to her chest, and you can see the distress plain on her face as her sharp teeth clench into a worried grimace, "I could not bear the thought of my brother being angry at you..."

You look over to Prince Sidon, he certainly did look like he wanted to discuss something personal with Mipha. But he never seemed the type of person who would get mad at you being here. You wouldn't dare say Mipha was misjudging her brother, as just the thought that she had drifted that far from her own brother looked like it was driving her to the brink of tears. You could leave, but Mipha did seem to get some courage from you being nearby. What should you do?

- [X] Ask Sidon if he wants to talk to Mipha alone of if Link can stay and mediate between the two siblings for this conversation.

Do note that this is mostly towards Mipha. The votes for staying until Sidon arrives, hiding or leaving before he shows up. Link knows Sidon will tell him to piss off or not when he gets over to them.
