Love the story and also to the guy whose rant takes up half the page... They are devils, every bit of the world was meant to be funny and perverse but consider this, there was a war and the new devil faction won. Like any war the commander must have blood on his hands moreso a commander of any army with the potential for collateral like the devils. In that vein,is it so difficult to assume that sirzechs is only the mask he wears? I could go on and on trying to justify it to you but it is after all a matter of taste.

awesome fic author and last chapter needs indexing
Thanks for that, done.

ADLH is shit; I would try to make a let's review, but I couldn't even make it pass the first chapter.

For example Serafall, an ultimate class devil, who in canon fought in civil war, can easily freeze the entirely of Japan, and was not afraid to go out and fight the Bandersnatchs and Jaberwockys despite there being a certain Longinus-wielding hypocrite that can oneshot her with a spear was reduced to a damsel in distress that needed to be saved by "Shirou"; This is pretty much the first chapter.

From what I'm told it gets worse from there. DxD canon defilement (all under the pretends of being "More Realistic".) and SINO wanking, with Shirou be used as a mouthpiece for Fahad.

Like turning Sirzechs into generic demon lord #who gives a fuck. In canon Sirzechs is pretty much the opposite, he's a nice guy, a loving brother, father and husband, a humble man that never looks down on another, and willing to make peace.

Turned Asia into a fucking alcoholic. WTF.

Took away boosted gear form Issei (he has Twice Critical I read.) and removed his positive traits. For example, in canon Issei went to save Asia with the belief he will be doing it alone and with twice critical. Issei did nothing in ADLH. WTF.

In Canon the Devils use to be evil, but not anymore thanks to the efforts of Sirzechs and friends. The new and current generation has begun making peace with their former enemies and other races, and have forsaken the good 'ol ways. Those traditionalists who wants to return to the good 'ol ways are diminishing and losing power. In ADLH, nope, nada, ziltch, instead he made them EVIL that celebrates the killing of an entire generation of babies because they're EVIL and Mah REALISIM. His reason why? Because they're to much like people instead of demons, that's the point of DxD, the supernatural races are people too. What does he do about it, he changed them into an EVIL race of demons under the pretends of "being Realistic". WTF Fahad, WTF?

You want to know what happened to Boosted Gear? It was given to Issei's twin sister, some Sekerei character, and she was edgy as fuck (this is a bad thing by the way). She proceeds to give Issei a reason you suck speach about not being Dragon enough or some shit like that. She also fights "Shirou", which is basically to show how awesome Shirou is and Suck Fahad's cock I meant "Shirou's" cock.

Kokabiel, fucking Kokabiel. In canon, Koka wanted to start war for the sake of war and that he is a pychopath who loves war, that's pretty much it. In ADLH, KINO's wants to start a war for NOBLE Reasons because he's NOBLE, which comes across as hypocritical. He explains his reasons to Fahad, I meant "Shirou", who agrees with him, he then proceeds to suck "Shirou's" cock.

And finally, I saved the worst for last: "Shirou" aka EMIYA JR. The edgelord aka SINO aka Fahad. Shirou is basically Shirou In Name Only, he's EMIYA-lite without EMIYA's redeeming traits, and those traits are replaced by worse traits. He's used as an Author Mouth peace against DxD and other shit, this is why I call him Fahad. Now let's get to the SINO wanking proportion of this paragraph; SINO is not vaporized or reduced to ludicrous gibs by the enemies he facing, enemies that can a hole in a mountain by punching or blasting it, These feats are mook tier in DxD. I know Shirou survived and defeated Servants in Fate/Stay night, but he only did so under specific circumstances, had advantages, and luck. These are gone in DxD, he's a shitty Magus with no chance of improvement except for making tracing more efficient, something the Type-Lunatics will basically agree with me. Yet, he's winning against beings that consider hypersonic Slow, and destroying mountains weak; that's not considering the more esoteric powers in DxD.

This is the end of my rant. I'm sorry if I used language and words that offended anyone who read this. I know I did not read ADLH from beginning to end. If I could bring myself to read it from beginning to end without haemorrhaging from it, I will make a let's review of ADLH with detailed analysis of each specific chapter, which I will try to be neutral about and leave my personal feelings out of my writing.

Well, I personally found the AU elements quite interesting and enjoyable, but everyone has different tastes, I suppose. You are well within your rights to disagree with my opinion, and I shall not try to convince you otherwise.

Wait he has a mystic code meant for teaching zeltrech's students so would he be able to use the Kaleidescope?
Ps needs more Gilgamesh.

To your first, eventually, he'll have limited access to certain aspects. In fact, that's a major plot point of the sequel that I'm already planning to write eventually, Stacking The Deck.

As for the second, I am sorry to inform you that there will not be any Gilgamesh in this story, thought there certainly will be in the sequel.

I noticed that DxD fan fiction tends to flanderize rather heavily. Either shrug and get over it or don't read most of the stories.

Also any cross overs seem to be more of grabbing a male character, rewriting a part of his personality and using it as a SI for the writer to create a harem.

Hunh. Ozymandias. I approve, that guy's fun, and nothing beats "Laser boat of doom"

Well, I intend to finish the SI's adventures in the DxDverse with a fight against a certain beast related to numbers in triplicate... (no, not an accountant) However, canon will start really diverging after the Riser fight.

Asia's face went completely blank, even as the two exorcists behind her twitched at my words. I couldn't quite tell who the one on the left was, due to her hood, but the blue and green bangs poking out from under the hood of the one on the right gave away the identity of that one.

As Asia was currently in no state to ask questions of me, the unidentifiable exorcist barked a question. "Who are you?! How do you know Freed Selzen?!"

I offered a wan smile and a bow that just shied the edges of being mocking. "You may call me Keeper. I am a friend of Mister Selzen's. You might say that I offer the priest the opportunity to confess, rather than be confessed to."

The other exorcist, who was almost certainly Xenovia, interjected. "But he was excommunicated! How can he be a priest?"

I shook my head slowly. "Dear child, I would think an exorcist of all people would know this by now; man does not require the permission of a human institution to have faith, to spread faith."

I waved a hand at myself. "Now, I may not be the most zealous of the devout, but I certainly am of the Faith, though it is unlikely that you and yours recognize the Religious Society of Friends; pacifism, even the more loose form I believe in, does tend to put a damper on Crusades, after all."

Xenovia Quarta

Xenovia did not know what to think of this 'Keeper' individual. On one hand, he raised a valid point about faith not being constrained by mortal works, in spite of many governments' attempts to do so. On the other, he clearly had some amount of disdain for the Church as an institution, and she was of mixed feelings on that subject. Unsure of how to proceed, she turned to her superior for instruction.

Griselda Quarta, Xenovia's adopted mother, addressed Keeper calmly as Xenovia observed. "Your statements aside, why have you come for Asia?"

Johan

I arched an eyebrow. "I have come here to offer Asia transportation to where Freed currently lives. Surely you would prefer her in the company of those who, though they have fallen, remain devout? The alternative is to leave her to be prey for whatever beings may wish to take advantage of her, using her to whatever nefarious ends they may have."

The hooded woman appeared to consider briefly, then nodded sharply. "Very well. Truthfully, it is none of our business what she does once she leaver our care; she could turn to a life of debauched sin and we could do nothing."

Asia had broken out of her shocked silence by then, and her face immediately turned bright red.

I chuckled. "Somehow, I doubt the likelihood of that particular course of events, but I've been wrong before." The woman chuckled. "You're alright, Keeper."

As the exorcist duo turned to leave, I cleared my throat. "Ah, before I forget. In my discussions with various sources, who of course shall remain unnamed, I heard a rather… disturbing rumor. Frankly, I have a fair amount of faith in my source, so I think it only prudent to let you know: there may well be a plot to steal one or more of the Fragments of Excalibur."

With my statement made, I placed a hand on Asia's shoulder and steered her towards the outcropping of rock were Freed was waiting. My one regret was that I was not able to witness the amusing expressions that were no doubt adorning the faces of the two exorcists I'd left behind.

As soon as Asia had caught sight of Freed, she'd stopped cold. Upon catching sight of her, he opened his mouth, but no sound came.

Ordinarily, I would have been more than willing to break out the popcorn and watch the two of them engage in a tearful, heartwarming reunion, but unfortunately, we were on a timetable. After all, the Od Saji had drained from me and given to Sona wouldn't stick around forever; Sona had made that abundantly clear. As such, I cleared my throat.

"Now, as adorable as you two are, gazing at one another in awestruck wonder, we do need to be on our way." The two of them flushed simultaneously, and before they could begin stammering denials at me I pulled the talisman Sona had given me from my pocket. I pushed a surge of Prana into it. Apparently, the small medallion was used as a beacon for remote teleportation.

The amulet glowed with a soft blue light, and I could hear Sona's voice in my head. /Alright. I'm starting the remote teleportation now… Everything's proceeding as normal… Wait, what?! Something's wrong! Wha-/
Even as her voice cut out, the blue glow, which had enveloped us by then, guttered out. We were neither in Sona's office nor at the edge of Vatican City.

Everything around us was colored in depressing grays and blacks. We appeared to be in a vast void, strange indistinct shapes moving off in the distance. The ground seemed to be cobblestone, and as I scanned the area, I heard a faint, indecipherable noise, something like a crowd.

Freed stood protectively beside Asia, his feet spread in a martial stance, a dagger Mystic Code that I had crafted for him held in a reverse grip before him. I muttered my Trigger and fully opened my Magic Circuits, fingering an ofuda in my sleeve.

We were all tense, but my nervousness skyrocketed when Onyx spoke up.
[I am detecting a Heroic Spirit. Assassin Class.]

AN: Did ya see that coming? I figured it was about time to introduce a second useable Servant to add to Johan's allies. OzymanDIO is awesome and all, but Johan's got quite the growing to do before he can do more than talk to that guy. As always, I thank Akatosh, Julianos, Gaia, Alaya, and whoever else for Mecraphone's talented betaing. Read, enjoy, review, convince senpai* to notice me...
*Senpai, in this case, includes, but is not limited to: Marcus Galen Sands, shadenight123, Third Fang, and Ars Poetica

CM: Griselda's last name is so easy to make fun of.
'Hey Griselda, mind if I have a Quarta, sugar?'
Heh, double pun.
Xanothos: …I want to be mad at that joke, but I have to applaud it in it's horribleness.

...please be jack the ripper, please be jack the ripper, please be jack the ripper, why the FUCK does nobody ever use jack the ripper? She's adorable and murderous in all the right ways.

:(
...Sorry. In my defense, the one I chose is pretty cool too.

I did. It involved harry getting a spear through his heart then absorbing all the evils of the world to get the heavens feel true magic.

What about Hassan of Serenity? She's friggin' hot as fuck.
Sadly, the waifu(s) have already been determined, and I am not confident in my abilities to write a believable relationship larger than four people.

Probably a good thing it's not jacky. Wouldn't want the SI to pay less attention to his foxy wifu
Indeed.

So you all know, the next chapter has been sent to my beta, so hopefully it'll be out before 9:00pm EST.
Cheers!

"Shit. Can you tell who it is?" Onyx was silent for a few long moments. [I… technically have the capabilities to do so, but they are sealed off. Lord Zelretch said that it would allow him to gather better data.]

I felt my eyebrow twitch. 'Tamamo?Make note of this: we are going to find a way to get to Zelretch, and when we do, we are going to inflict copious amounts of Repentance Through Crotch Violence unto him.'
Tamamo gleefully agreed, and I nodded to myself.

"Well, where are we, Onyx?" I asked.
[It seems to be a sub-dimensional space between worlds, connected to the Throne in a very distant manner. I suggest we press on. I won't be able to get us out of here until who or whatever brought us here releases us.]

I nodded, and the three of us began walking on the cobblestone path. As we made our way, we passed several figures, some of them Assassin Class Servants, some individuals from other realities that would qualify for the Class.

-A child in a bloodstained nightgown, holding a knife and a lantern.

-A man with long violet hair, swinging a nodachi in a practiced motion.

-A man with white hair and a longcoat adorned with horses, standing next to a towering guillotine.

-A woman in a kimono, a severe expression on her face as she fingered her tanto.

-A smirking man in a tuxedo, all slyness and charm, counting a large amount of money as his two compatriots looked on; one bore a katana, and the other twirled a pistol.

-A youth with shaggy dark hair, a white domino mask perched on his nose and a long black trench coat billowed behind him. His shadow stretched long behind him, and from it extended six phantom wings, ones that morphed from those like that of a Fallen to those of a Devil.

I recognized them all, and I shook my head. Truly, this was the home of the Assassins. As I continued on, more figures lined the path, but these were different. These all had the same basic appearance: black cloaks and white skull masks. Clearly, I was now in the presence of the 'True Assassins', the members of the Hashashin.

As I passed them, their eyes turned towards the path ahead, and they prostrated themselves. I was reminded of the times a friend of mine who'd been Muslim had bowed toward Mecca, such was the depth of their reverence. I shivered with unease as an unfortunate idea began to grow in the back of my mind.

'God, I hope I'm wrong.'

Unfortunately, it seemed that my prayers would go unanswered. As we reached the end of the path, we came upon a raised dais, with steps ascending like a ziggurat. At the top, I could see a throne of stone, with a terrifying sight seated in it.
He was tall, easily above 6 feet. His armor was covered in metal skulls, azure flames burning in their eyes. This same flame wreathed his armor. One hand supported his skull-masked face, while the other rested on the hilt of an absolutely massive sword. His mask tilted toward me as we approached.

The first of the Hashashin, the Assassin of Assassins known as King Hassan, addressed me in a deep, booming voice. "Mortal. Why have you come to the Sea of Souls?"

I knelt before the nearest thing to an incarnation of Death that existed among Heroic Spirits, and spoke. "Truly, it was not by our own hands that we were brought here. We were utilizing a teleportation spell to return home, and somehow we arrived here."

Hassan hummed thoughtfully. "How interesting… No matter. Your presence here presents me with a problem… and an opportunity. On one hand, one not of the Sea may not be permitted to enter. On the other, I can sense a the presence of two other denizens within you, a Caster and a Rider.
"It has been too long since I have left this place, too long since I have honed my edges.
" Hassan rose from his stone throne.
"Demonstrate your abilities to me. If you can survive this, I shall take up residence in your soul, lend you my sovereignty over Death."

Hassan pulled his claymore from the ground, and lazily swept it through the air in my direction. I reflexively Included the Caster card, and pushed a full three fourths of my Prana into Mantra: Aphotic Cave. The rest, I poured into Reinforcing my body, and not a moment too soon. The next instant, an arc of blue consumed my vision, and Tamamo's mirror bent under the strain of receiving a strike from that blade. I grunted with effort, and my bad leg buckled under the pressure. The sheer force of that single, lazy, unserious strike was forcing me back.

I growled. I was well aware that I was no match for the Grand Assassin, but I'd be damned if I was going to fall so easily to such a disdainful attack! I pushed further, drew in more Mana and pushed out more Prana. Tamamo's mirror gleamed brightly, and an incantation sprang to my lips unbidden.

"Yata-no-Kagmi."

The crumbling barrier created by Aphotic Cave mended itself and flashed a brilliant red gold, the color of the Sun itself. I roared, an inhuman, vulpine sound. The blue slash produced by the blade known as Azrael clashed with a fragment of a sun goddess' power. Miraculously, each force canceled out the other, and Hassan nodded in approval, even as I fell to a knee, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Splendid. You do your Spirits credit; I shall surely find splendid heads to take should I go with you. Very well! I, Hassan-I Sabbah the First, offer my blade to you, so long as you keep to the path you know to be right."

I bowed my head to him, and said thickly, "I accept your vow. I, Johan Blair, apprentice Magus and medium of Spirits, do swear to abide by your terms."

Freed cleared his throat. "This is all frightening, and awesome, but have either of you any idea how to leave?"

There was naught but silence in response to the exorcists question.

AN: Well, here's the big reveal! Grand Assassin, in all his glory. Truth be told, until this morning, the Assassin was going to be Charles-Henri Sanson. However, after looking again at the amazingness that is Hassan the first, I could only make one choice: long live Grand Assassin! As always, I thank Mecraphone for being wonderful, and you all for reading. To think, I already have more than 200 followers on fanfiction net! Awesome…
This is currently unbetaed, and I will update with the betaed version as soon as I can.

Geez a grand servant already. Johan has much better luck with the gacha than me. Was hoping for the saviour of France to make an appearance, though I guess he'll be too op against the dragons.

Was I the only one hoping for sasaki? Always wanted to see a si or pov of the regend kicking dragon ass all over DxD.
