    There was part of you deep inside that wanted to stand up against Kotei with Makima, but you knew that having to fight Kotei was a last ditch move. Without giving Makima a look, you began running in the direction of the Administration Building. If you could get Kushina to help, then Kotei would be forced to reveal Jiao's location and perhaps he might even get in some sort of trouble, though Rokugo's story gave you the sense this would be swept under the rug.

    You didn't dare look back, only focusing on reaching Kushina and stretching your chakra sensing as far as possible to get a clue as to where Jiao was. You could hear the faint sounds of combat from behind you as you ran and eventually you were too far to hear them anymore. You felt an immense pressure digging into your head as you extended your chakra sensing as far as it could go on the small hope that you could sense Jiao's chakra.

    "Jiao, please be safe..." you muttered under your breath. All you could hear was your heart pounding in your ears and sweat began to cover your body, now running at full speed towards the main town. Going by your previous trip to the Administration Building, it would take only a few minutes by jumping from roof to roof.

    You finally reached the entrance to the town, running up the wall of a building and landing on the roof. The pressure in your head was turning into a painful migraine and you could feel your chakra system starting to burn from overextending your sensing, but you wouldn't stop. You leapt from roof to roof, head in the direction of the Administration Building, it's silhouette barely visible at the edge of your vision. However, it was right then you felt something.

    At the very outskirts of your sensing range, you could very faintly feel a familiar, exotic chakra. Your eyes widened, it was Jiao's! But it was quickly getting fainter and fainter, moving out of your range!

    "Does Yukari have Jiao and is taking her somewhere? Did Jiao manage to escape and is running for her life?! Kushina is only a bit farther ahead, but trying to catch her up on the situation means that I'll lose track of Jiao!" you desperately thought.

    What will you do?

    Critical Moment!

    [] Go towards Jiao's chakra signature. You can't afford to lose her trail!

    [] Go get Kushina! There's no way you can do this without her help!

    • I kind of want to do both, but this one comes with the risk of failing both, so think about it for a bit.
    Kushina, according to the data book has a speed of 10, compared to our 5.
    So she would be able to get to Jiao faster than we can.

    []Flare our chakra to notify Kushina before hurrying after Jiao.

    Now the risk here is that if Jiao is captive, the captors are probably going to be warned.
    The other risk is that Kushina could be asleep after pulling an allnighter and doesn't notice our chakra flare.
    There is the other problem that we are going to signal to everyone that something is up.
    So there is a guarantee that other ninja are going to interfere.
    The question is if that interference is against us, for us or just turning the situation into a stalemate.
    But a stalemate is better than the current situation.

    You quickly thought of a plan. Making a single hand seal, you modified your transformation jutsu so that you'd be wearing a plain white shirt with a quick message detailing Kushina that Kotei and Yukari had taken Jiao and that you need help. With that message made, you used a simple clone jutsu and ordered it to the Administration Building, hoping that Kushina will read it.

    With that done, you reset your transformation jutsu and you rushed towards Jiao's chakra. You noticed that it had stopped somewhere as you were getting a much stronger reading, it seemed to be located at the very edge of the Whirlpool! You continued on your way, reducing the range of your sensing to conserve chakra. Eventually you reached a rather plain looking, single story tall house sitting next to the coast, the sounds of the ocean in the distance did nothing but add an odd ambiance as you carefully moved forward.

    Suddenly the door swung open, revealing Yukari. She wasn't wearing her cloak anymore, instead wearing a simple white sundress. The dress was filthy and tattered at the edges, grime accumulating in random spots and streaks, but if Yukari cared about it, she didn't show it, her attention focused purely on you.

    "Welcome. I assume you have received Kotei's invitation?" Yukari spoke. It was clear Kotei had given her these lines before, but that did nothing to contain the seething rage in her eyes and voice.

    "Where's Jiao?" you demanded.

    "That worthless and inferior girl is within. I cannot fathom as to why Kotei wishes to meet you two in our sacred abode, but as his girlfriend, I will...support this endeavor." Yukari choked out through bared teeth.

    "Yukari, please. I just want my friend back, you don't need to do this." you began. "You clearly hate this! You don't have to-"

    "SHUT UP!" Yukari screamed. "I am a good girlfriend! I do what Kotei asks! I'm a good girlfriend! I'm a good girl. I'm a good girl!"

    "Would someone who loves you force you to do things you hate? Would someone who loves you make you this uncomfortable?" you continued. You had no idea if your words would reach to Yukari, but you had a feeling that if you went into that house, it would spell your end. You were unsure if you could even stand up to Yukari in combat, so all you had left was the power of words.

    "You don't know him like I do!" Yukari barked back. "He's so good to me! I was a worthless nobody and he made me into who I am today! He made me strong! He made me...he made me...he made me..."

    "Yukari, you can't believe that he treats you right! I'm sure you've seen other couples in the village, what you have with Kotei is-"

    "DON'T SAY HIS NAAAAAME!" Yukari screeched, grabbing her head, her long and filthy fingernails digging into her scalp. She began to viciously scratch her scalp, her nails easily slicing through the skin. Blood began to seep through her hair and down her face.

    "I just want Jiao back Yukari! If you give her back, then we'll leave you alone! We won't bother you!" you said, hard pivoting your argument upon seeing Yukari harming herself. Yukari stopped scratching and looked upwards at you.

    "No. No! NO!" Yukari roared. "Kotei wants to see you! If I let you go, then I'd be a bad girl! I can't be bad! I can't make Kotei mad! When he's mad...when he's mad! He'll abandon me! If I can't be with him then...then...then!"

    Tears welled up in Yukari's eyes. "Why! Why! Why do you say these things! Kotei is good! Kotei is my life! You...why do you want me and Kotei to separate! Unless...unless..."

    Yukari went quiet, as if she finally discovered the answer. Her killing intent suddenly exploded, so potent and malicious that you could feel the phantom pain of what she wanted to do to you. Tearing open your chest, ripping out your heart and crushing it within her hands, mutilating your face with a knife, snapping your legs and arms, the list went on and on. You took a fearful step backwards, breathing heavily.

    "You want Kotei for yourself! You want to be his good girl! You want his love and adoration! Gaining his attention, offering him that eastern whore, coming to his house...you want to replace me! You sick pathetic bitch!" Yukari ranted. "You diseased, home wrecking slut! You bottom feeding leech! How fucking dare you! HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!"

    The notion that you'd want to be with Kotei made you sick to your stomach, but even worse was the fact that Yukari thought you 'offered' Jiao to him. You could feel your rage bubbling within your chest, even through the Clarity genjutsu. But this conversation had clearly went south and was going even further into the ground.

    Despite your fury (and thanks to your Clarity genjutsu) you knew that if things got worse, you'd have to deal with Yukari's wrath. Your mind raced at a mile a minute, trying to figure out what to do.

    Well?

    [] Tell Yukari that you don't want to get with Kotei, you want to help her! She's so much more than whatever Kotei warped her into and you'll make her see that!

    [] This talk is clearly doing nothing. Take the risk and try hitting Yukari with a genjutsu, then run into the house to rescue Jiao!

    [] You have to stall! Whether by words or by fighting, you need to give Kushina time to see your message and get here!

    Yukari was going down a very narrow line of thought, warping and twisting anything you said as some sort of pining for Kotei. You had an idea, but you didn't know how Yukari would take it. But you had no choice, it was now or never!

    "Yukari, you have it backwards! I don't want to steal Kotei from you, I want to steal you from Kotei!" you cried out. A half truth, you did want to take Yukari away from Kotei after all.

    "Pathetic, you think you can get out of this with some weak lies?" Yukari said, her voice raspy and seething. "Only Kotei loves me. Him and him alone. Nobody else could ever dare love me, Kotei said so!"

    "That's not true, Yukari! I can see you're suffering! Please, just give me a chance and-"

    You felt a sudden surge of chakra from Yukari as she raised her hand, the seals tattooed on her palm glowing a bright red. A bolt of searing hot flames flew directly at you, barely giving you enough time to jump to the side! Yukari tracked your position, sweeping the bolt of fire towards you! You made hand seals and spat out a torrent of water, putting out Yukari's flames!

    "What the..." you panted as the steam from the quenched fire quickly vanished. You could see with your chakra vision that the seals tattooed on Yukari's upper body had now expanded across her entire person, the black markings covering almost every inch of her skin. Just how many seals did she put on herself?!

    "You'll burn in hell for trying to ruin Kotei's relationship with me! You'll burn! BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND!" Yukari shrieked, four chains made out of a fiery red chakra bursting from her back, each of them tipped with a jagged, sharp blade. The chakra chains stabbed themselves into the ground and lifted Yukari into the air.

    "I don't want to fight, Yukari! Please! I'm begging you! Don-"

    "FUCK YOU!"

    Another chain emerged, this time from Yukari's stomach! You barely dodged the attack and watched as the bladed tip of the chain easily cut through a tree nearby, also setting it flame! Negotiators had clearly failed, but what could you even do against such a powerful foe?!

    It was then, at the very edge of your chakra sensing range, you could feel someone approaching! You couldn't spend too much time actually checking who it was, as Yukari swiped the superheated chain at you once more, to which you dodged with a substitution jutsu, switching places with a log.

    You just had to hold out against Yukari long enough for whoever that was to arrive. Simple enough...you hope.

    What will you do?

    [] Use a genjutsu to stun Yukari and then try to lead her away from the house! You need to stall and you'd feel better if Yukari wasn't in range of where Jiao was imprisoned.

    [] Use Demonic Illusion: Stabbing Pain on Yukari's eyes, and then try to strike a powerful blow! You have to end this as soon as you can, even if you doubt a single punch will take her down.

    [] Dodge and continue to appeal to Yukari. She clearly isn't listening, but perhaps if you say the right thing she might give pause!

    I also don't think words are going to get through.
    Maybe after this whole thing has gone down.

    ...We could have turned back into a guy to reduce Yukari's fear of us stealing her boyfriend.
    Also comes with downsides and hindsight is 20/20 but something to keep in mind for the future.

    It was fight or flight, and with Jiao in reach, it was time to fight! You made hand seals as fast as you could, barely dodging the flurry of chain strikes. Thankfully if there was one silver lining of Yukari's rage, it was that she kept her eyes completely focused on you at all times. You sidestepped another superheated chain, gritting your teeth in pain as the head started burning your clothes and skin! Thanks to your Clarity, you were able to power through and finish your hand seals.

    "GRAH!" Yukari screamed, clutching her eyes, shaking her head violently. Your Stabbing Pain genjutsu worked to perfect! While Yukari was distracted, you leapt upward for a follow up strike, but Yukari quickly turned her head towards you and opened her mouth, revealing that the network of seals even extended into her mouth and over her tongue. A seal on the tip of her tongue began to glow brightly and the swelling of chakra told you that if you didn't dodge, you'd die!

    You reared your arm back and threw it forward, the limb stretched as you grabbed the edge of the roof of Yukari and Kotei's house. You pulled yourself away just in time as a thin, concentrated bolt of flames spewed from Yukari's mouth! Yukari closed her mouth and turned towards you as you stood on the roof.

    "Looks like she can store chakra in some of those seals and unleash them whenever she wants. But the real question is how did she get over my genjutsu so fast? Another seal? Or was she faking her reaction? If so...the feeling of being stabbed in the eyes is something she can shrug off?" you thought, taking in all the information you could.

    "GET AWAY FROM THERE!" Yukari roared, swiping her chains at you once more! You were forced to jump back, now landing on the beach behind the house. You panted sweat coating your body both from the effort and the heat. Yukari was now standing on the roof, her chains retracting back into her body. She expertly chained together hand seals.

    "What the?!" you muttered in shock as Yukari's chakra suddenly ballooned within her body. Whatever jutsu she was about to use, it would be one that would no doubt end you in a single shot!

    What will you do?

    Critical Moment!

    [] Use Imperial Wall to block the attack! It's your strongest defensive move!

    [] Use Ground Shift around the house to shift Yukari away from you! Although this might hurt Jiao if you're not careful!

    [] Run towards the ocean and dive under the water. It's the safest thing you can think of to do at the moment!
