So, I wanted to clarify, there is no real winning vote here. Any question asked in vote form will be asked, excluding if its OOC or not within Maya's knowledge. So don't be afraid to not vote because you think your question won't win, it'll get in.
Winning Vote:
[X] Sure, ask Nijuichi some questions.
-[x] "You mentioned others with noble goals, any come to mind who'd be willing to give it another shot with me?"
-[x]" Any idea of what area I should try to establish myself in, so as to stay in close contact with Whirlpool? You know, in the presumption I could deal with any immediate response for the act?"
-[x] "Also I figure that theMiost won't be too happy once I finally get this thing going, don't suppose you could tell me what to expect from Byakuren and the other elite nin there?"
-[x] "Finally are there any groups or even any other empires that you think would be willing to take part in the alliance or that I should be wary of?"
"I have a few questions, then." you said, accepting Nijuichi's offer.
"Very well. I will do the best of my ability to answer them." Nijuichi said with a (half) smile.
"First off, you mentioned others with noble goals. Anyone come to mind that you'd be willing to tell me about?" you asked. You couldn't get that off your mind when Nijuichi said it, but of course other things needed to be talked about first.
"Ah yes. Firstly, you have to know that while their goals are noble, they still want their empire to win this war. I doubt they'd suddenly join you, even if your ideas match on a base level. Plenty of the Hokage and even Mei Terumi, who you should recognize as one of the Mizukage, have reached out to discuss possible ways of ending the war. But their positions don't allow them to be as forward as they'd like, else they risk being branded traitors by their own empire." Nijuichi explained. "But there's one person I can think of."
"Oh, who is it?" you inquired.
"Sumiko Dokushima, one of the leaders of the Waterfall empire. We were in deep talks at one point. She's intelligent, played politics with ease, and had genuinely noble goals and intentions. However, the Rain and Sound created an alliance, fittingly named the Rain-Sound Alliance, and took over most empires near them. Including the Waterfall Empire. Since then, I haven't heard a single word from her. I fear the worst, but should she have survived , I cannot think of a better ally for your cause." Nijuichi said, a hint of sorrow in his voice.
"Sumiko Dokushima, presumably somewhere in the former Waterfall Empire. Got it." you muttered to yourself. "I was going to ask if you had an idea of where to establish myself, but I'd assume one of your answers would be the Waterfall...should it still exist."
"Indeed. The only other place I can think of is the only other protectorate in Jihopan. To the far west, sandwiched between the Sand and Rock Empires is the Land of Forests, with the newly created Forest Village. They became an empire out of necessity to protect itself from attacks from both empires and eventually allied with the Sand, becoming it's vassal. I can only guess they aren't happy, a new empire instantly being brought to heel...It would be easy to get into their good graces, I think." Nijuichi answered.
"Alright! Now, in your opinion, do you think there are any Empires or places I should look to ally with? Or more importantly, those I should be weary of?" you asking, leaning a bit closer.
"I've pretty much answered the first question for you already. As for the second...every other Empire. They will not take kindly to an upstart, they will be swift and thorough in your destruction. Do not make yourself a target until you know you can fight back." Nijuichi seriously said.
"Well that leads into my next question then. I know the Mist Empire won't be happy with me, do you have any idea what they'll do? Maybe even what Byakuren will do?" you asked grimly.
"I assume they'll send their Hunter Ninja after you, or other various assassins. I can't see Byakuren doing much unless you well and truly anger him. If you do...I'd suggest you run." Nijuichi answered sincerely.
"I figured as much. Anyway, that's the last of my questions." you sighed.
"Very well then. Thank you for opening up to me, Maya. Give me one second..." Nijuichi trailed off, pulled out a slip of paper from his drawer and a pen. He quickly wrote down something and then neatly folded it, handing it over to you. "Give that to Kushina and all should be good."
"Thank you." you replied, taking the note and putting it in your pocket. You and Jiao got up from the chairs and left Nijuichi's office. You went down the hallways and eventually reached the outside, taking a deep breath of fresh air.
"So, what do you intend on doing, Maya?" Jiao asked.
That was a fair question. What will you do now?
[] Go back to Kushina and give her the letter. You should let her know that everything is fine now.
[] You're pretty hungry, go get something to eat.
[] Now that you have some freedom, maybe you'll explore the Whirlpool.
[] Go find a hot spring or spa service. You want to rest and relax after all that!
[] Tell Jiao you'll do whatever she wants. You don't know what to do, but Jiao might.

Well, maybe we can work on Mei later at least. We do have the family angle slightly going for us with her as well, I guess? But more mist support who is actually open to our idea wouldn't hurt.
Go back to Kushina and give her the letter. You should let her know that everything is fine now.

"Pretty obvious, we're gonna go back to Kushina and tell her everything is fine now." you said. "Plus, after a long day like this, I might just wanna crash and sleep off the stress."
"Not a bad idea. Let's go." Jiao agreed. As the two of you began your way back to Kushina's house, you sensed two powerful chakra near you. Turning your head, you saw a man levitating a few inches off the ground. It was the same man you first saw at the docks and Makima's warning went through your head. It was Kotei, and he wasn't hiding the fact that somehow, you gained his interest. Next to him was a woman wearing a long, tattered black robe that covered all her features except her head. Her bright red hair was extremely long, stringy, and greasy looking, as if she didn't care about hygiene at all. Her face was a deathly pale and her eyes seemed to sink into her skull, but her bright yellow irises seemed to glow with a primal, animalistic energy that you couldn't quite understand.
"That has to be Yukari. She looks like what Makima described her as..." you thought. You couldn't quite explain why, but you felt a small amount of sympathy for Yukari. She looked like she was...suffering. Kotei smirked, noticing that you had discovered them. He put an arm around Yukari, an action that sent a shiver down your spine. With his free hand, he slowly waved at you and silently mouthed a few words. You were no expert at reading lips, but you could hear what he said very clearly.
"Talk to you soon."
You felt the shiver turn into a blood chilling wave that pumped throughout your body. You defensively grabbed Jiao's arm, much to her surprise, and began walking to fast it could be considered a jog. Jiao gave you a look, both of annoyance and concern. "Maya, what's going on?"
"Do you remember that man who checked us at the pier?" you asked.
"Yes? What about him?" Jiao responded.
"I've gotten information that he's...not a good person. He was watching us as we left, and in no uncertain terms told me that we're going to talk." you quickly explained.
"...That is bothersome. But I don't think he'll do anything to bring attention on himself. We are under the protection of both Kushina and Nijuichi, are we not?" Jiao said.
"We are...but I just get a really bad vibe from him now." you muttered.
"I'm sure it'll be fine. Now can you let go of me? I'm no stuffed toy to squeeze when you're scared." Jiao said, glaring at you.
"Sorry," you said, letting go of Jiao. The two of you spend the rest of the trip in silence until you reached Kushina's house. As both you and Jiao reached the door, it opened to reveal Kushina, giving you both a serious look.
"How'd it go?" she asked, crossing her arms. You didn't say anything, merely handing over the note Nijuichi wrote to her. Kushina quickly read the note and her features softened. "I figured you girls weren't bad people. But I have a duty to protect my home, y'know?"
"While I do understand, may we have this talk later? It's been quite the day and I wish for a hot bath and some privacy." Jiao requested, now sounding rather tired.
"It has been an emotional day for everyone, I'd reckon." you added, giving Kushina a small smile.
"That's fine. Please, come in." Kushina softly said. You and Jiao entered her house and Jiao was instantly going up the stairs, ready to start her bath. You instead flopped onto the very comfy couch in Kushina's living room. Kushina followed you, sitting down on a similar couch across from you. "I know I have my duties, but I do want to apologize. In times like these...it's hard to trust anyone."
"I get it. Plus, talking to Nijuichi really helped me out! So let's look at the silver linings here." you cheerfully said.
"...Yeah! That's a good way of looking at it!" Kushina replied with a large smile. You and Kushina laughed together before it faded into a comfortable silence.
While you had the chance, is there anything you wanted to ask or talk to Kushina about?
[] Tell Kushina about your experience with Kotei. You'd feel a lot safer if Kushina knew about this...
[] Ask Kushina if you can continue her training. You might be strong, but actually having a teacher for once would help you greatly!
[] Tell Kushina that you're absolutely bushed and you're gonna rest in your room.
Winning Vote: Tell Kushina about your experience with Kotei. You'd feel a lot safer if Kushina knew about this...

Your smile turned into a small frown, something Kushina instantly noticed. "What's wrong, Maya?"
"While Jiao and I were leaving Nijuichi's office, for a brief moment, I made contact with Kotei and Yukari." you seriously said.
"Oh...them..." Kushina muttered. "Did they do anything?"
"No, but Kotei told me that he'd be seeing me soon." you truthfully responded, sighing.
"...Did you meet or talk with Kotei or Yukari before?" Kushina asked.
"Kotei was the one who met us when Jiao and I landed on the docks. He just said not to cause issues and that the Whirlpool was boring. I've heard from his sister that Kotei is a very..." you trailed off, but thankfully Kushina understood.
"Kotei's a monster. He's cruel and sadistic and the way he treats Yukari...poor girl..." Kushina sighed.
"If Kotei is such a threat, then why isn't he imprisoned?" you asked.
"Because...he's a useful asset to the Whirlpool. The most powerful of a prodigious clan, and the fact that he's done nothing to outright break the law. Even then, if we tried to arrest him...it's not too far off that he'd leave the Whirlpool in ruins before he goes down." Kushina dejectedly said. "He's such a menace, but these times of war let people like Kotei be free..."
"Which is why I want to unify these land. To be rid of such monsters and create a peaceful future..." you thought.
"To be safe, when you go out, make sure to always be in a crowded area, perhaps bringing Jiao or me with you. As I said, Kotei's smart enough not to directly implicate himself." Kushina said. "If you do that, you should be fine. I'll make sure to tell Nijuichi as well."
"Thanks Kushina. I think I'm going to rest for today. It was...long." you yawned.
"No problem! Sleep well, Maya." Kushina said with a smile. You nodded and got up from the couch and climbed upstairs, going into your room.
---
You awoke the next day, taking an extra long shower and eating a bunch of Kushina's delicious breakfast. You were ready to face the day!
What will you do?
[] Ask Kushina to train you. You really need to polish your skills.
[] Go into town. You want to explore the Whirlpool more.
-[] Bring Jiao with you.
-[] Bring Kushina with you.
-[] Go by yourself, the crowd should be enough to protect you from Kotei.
[] Hang out with Jiao. Now that you've broken through to her, you can get closer!
Winning Vote: Ask Kushina to train you. You really need to polish your skills.

After you had finished eating breakfast, you brought your plates and cutlery to the kitchen, where Kushina was washing some other dishes. She turned her head towards you and nodded, giving you the signal to put your dishes in the sink.
"Thank you very much for the meal, Kushina! It was great!" you said with a large smile.
"You're welcome! So, did you have anything planned today? I'm free for the next week or so, so I was thinking we could continue our training." Kushina said, turning her attention back to the dishes.
"Heh, that's funny. I was just about to ask you if you were up for more training!" you said, chuckling.
"Great minds think alike! So I got a fairly good grasp on your skills now. In that...you're pretty good at everything. So let's see..." Kushina muttered, thinking about something. "I suppose you'll just have to choose something and we'll work from there!"
"Alright then...what are you good at? It would be awkward if I wanted to train something you weren't too skilled in." you pointed out.
"Ah! Alright. In terms of ninjutsu, I'm pretty good at water and fire jutsu, so I can teach you some of those! Of course, befitting my clan, I know sealing jutsu as well, but that might be pretty tough to start out on." Kushina explained. Let's see...sadly I'm not really well versed in genjutsu. I wouldn't be surprised if you're already better than me at it. Then we have my bread and butter, taijutsu! I use the Strong Fist style of taijutsu, which mainly focuses on powerful strikes to end fights quickly!"
"Yeah that was pretty obvious..." you nervously said, remembering how Kushina easily dominated you when she used that weird fox chakra technique.
"Y-Yeah..." Kushina replied, a bit embarrassed. "Anyway, to compliment my taijutsu, I'm super good with the Eight Gates! I've mastered up to the Sixth Gate, but admittedly the gates would be too tough to learn in a week."
"Actually, I can go up to the Second Gate!" you exclaimed.
"Uh...wow. You weren't kidding when you said you had a bit of everything. Well, that puts gates training on the table then. So, you know my general abilities now. What would you like to train in for the week?" Kushina asked.
Well?
(Author's Note: you can only choose one)
[] Ninjutsu.
-[] Fire Jutsu.
-[] Water Jutsu.
-[] Sealing Jutsu.
-[] Work on perfecting the jutsu you have.
