  • [X] Plan Living Father
-[X] Charismatic Figure: Some people are born with a special light or fire that draws people in. You are among those. When you enter a room, people turn towards you. While others try to make friends, everyone wants to become yours. (Unlocks Trait Personal Magnetism: Provides a Bonus of +5 on all personal interactions with other persons like talking to a person, recruiting someone or increasing their bond etc.)
-[X] Martial Education: From an early age you pursued the study of the military classics and learned what you could about leading men in times of war. The Six Secret Teachings, the Methods of the Sima, the Wuzi and Wei Liaozi became your daily companions. Hours and days spent discussing and learning their teachings. All to prepare you for a military post. (Unlocks Trait Martial Education: Prerequisite to earn a higher military post. Provides a bonus of +2 to all actions concerning the military from commanding armies to organizing them.)
-[X] Vain: You were always mindful of your appearance and the appearance of others. With the rank of your family came certain expectations and you deemed your meticulous appearance to be one that was utterly necessary to be upheld.
-[X] Clan of Officials: Your mother comes from a long-line of officials. Her family has had grand administrators, inspectors and even one minister among their ranks. ( Unlocks Trait Familial Connection increasing Guanxi gains by 5%, Two Scholarly Items as presents)
-[X] Father is alive: Your father was nominated as filial and incorrupt some time ago and has even gotten a post as prefect. He is currently in the process of organizing the defenses of the county against the rising rebellion of the so-called Yellow Turbans. The warning has come before anything horrible could happen and he has already called for troops to gather to face this menace.
-[X] Last Stand: Nanyang was another centre of Yellow Turban activity in the South. Here the uprising was planned meticulously and executed without fail. Officials slain, villages burned and the administrative centre conquered. The Yellow Turbans resisted regardless how often their leaders fell. They truly fought till the last. Your father's county is a distance away from the main fighting centres, but still in danger.(Normal Difficulty)
-[X] Respected by fellow prefects. During his tenure he coordinated more than once with his fellow prefects to better help each other, be it through battling bandits together or coordinating the trade in the region.
-[X] A group of loyal and able retainers make up the higher echelons of the county. All of them are sworn to your family and proven to be skilled in fulfilling their given duty.
-[X] Promises of support from the local families. Most of them look to the prefect for leadership.

-[X] Father is dead: Your father was a valiant man. When duty called and the Yellow Turbans rose up, he stood ready to protect the Han empire and the people under his protection. As a prefect he was gifted and well-loved, but sadly he was never a warrior. Far more famed for his scholarly skills, he failed in battling the rebels. Together with the commander of the county, he perished fighting the Yellow Turbans, leaving you and his family behind.
-[X] Last Stand: Nanyang was another centre of Yellow Turban activity in the South. Here the uprising was planned meticulously and executed without fail. [X] Plan: Solitary Strategist

-[X] Unsocial and sheltered: You never liked going outside the mansion or leaving the room. Talking to people was a chore and proved to not be your forte. (Incompatible with Charismatic Figure!!)
-[X] Clan of Officers and Generals: Your mother comes from a long-line of military officers. Her father, brother, uncle and cousins all have served or serve in the Northern Army or in one of the frontier garrisons. (Upgrades Military Education to Extensive Military Education increasing the bonus to 4, One Military Item as present)

-[X] Strong Walls were built during the tenure of your father to protect the seat of the country and showcase the promise of protection.
-[X] Gratitude and admiration of the people inside the county. The people love and respect your father.
[X]Plan Ready To Hold The Line
-[X] Charismatic Figure: Some people are born with a special light or fire that draws people in. You are among those. When you enter a room, people turn towards you. -[X] Rude and disrespectful: You were always lacking in decorum. You saw no reason to waste time with it. Better to speak your mind and, if this insulted someone, so be it. They deserved it.
-[X] Clan of Officers and Generals: Your mother comes from a long-line of military officers. Her father, brother, uncle and cousins all have served or serve in the Northern Army or in one of the frontier garrisons. -[X] Of the counterattack: Yingchuan had its own problems, but here the counterattack of the Han Empire truly began. Yellow Turbans came from the bordering commanderies and attacked, but two Han armies are on their way to beat them back. Your father's county stands in the way of both. (Hard Difficulty)
-[X] The silos are filled with grain ready to sustain the city in case of a siege or the people in case of a famine.
-[X] Decent sized force of soldiers dedicated and trained by your clan meant to protect its interest.

-[X] Father is alive: Your father was nominated as filial and incorrupt some time ago and has even gotten a post as prefect. He is currently in the process of organizing the defenses of the county against the rising rebellion of the so-called Yellow Turbans. [X] Sicky Commander.
-[X] Loud Commanding Voice: When you speak people listen, if they want to or not. Your voice echoes over their cries, talk and protestations. (Unlock Trait Natural Born Leader: Provides a Bonus of +5 on commanding troops, rallying men or giving speeches before battles etc.)
-[X] Martial Education: From an early age you pursued the study of the military classics and learned what you could about leading men in times of war. What defines the nature of a man? If we are superficial, it is simply his appearance. A good person is blessed with good looks and an evil person will appear disgusting to one's eye. But only in fairy tales is such an approach feasible. In reality what is inside is what matters. The most beautiful face can hide one of the darkest hearts and behind an ugly facade there can be the most gentle nature hidden.

Is it ambition? What we aspire to be or what is hidden deep in our hearts? For dreams and ambition, people act. For reaching their goals, they are willing to work hard, sacrifice and disregard others. There are countless wildly ambitious individuals in the world. However, without the ordinary, common people, who will be able to control everything? If everyone wishes to become heroes, then wouldn't the entire world be in chaos? Because every hero needs a villain.

Is it a sense of justice? How do we treat someone less fortunate? How do we deal with evil? And how far are we willing to go to do that? Do the answers to such questions provide enough insight into the nature of a man or would it be nothing more than a smokescreen. A false idol to worship or a mask to hide behind. While it may provide some insights, it is not enough. It could be platitudes and empty words.

But what about family? Blood is nominally thicker than water. If a man mistreats his family, that must be a clear sign of his bad character. And a loving father or son could hardly be truly evil. Sadly, the annals of history tells us differently. There are tyrants, who mistreated and oppressed the people but were soft on their lovers and children. Proving such a measurement to be as ill fit as the others.

A true conundrum.

No one thing provides a fitting answer, so it seems best to look at everything and then let the deeds speak for themselves.

But the question is how do you intend to define Long Wanru?

Appearance: At the moment Long Wanru is just a name. It is time to put a face to such an illustrious member of the Long Clan. What does he look like?(Choose one option)

-[X] Option 1: Young Strategist
-[X] Option 2: Noble Youth
-[X] Option 3: Valiant Commander
-[X] Option 4: Young Scholar
-[X] Option 5: Real Life
-[X] Write In: Requirements are, it has to be a Young Male Asian and fitting for the era and setting. Please don't make me regret not mentioning it has to be human...

Ambition: There are many things that can drive someone forward, duty, familial obligations, love or the will to protect. But the simplest reason is ambition. Just wanting something, because you think it right. Some may call that selfish, the truth is such persons will be forgotten by the sands of time.(Choose one option)
-[X] Insatiable Thirst for more: You want more in life. More power, more wealth, more glory. Your name should be on the lips and in the mind of everyone in the Middle Plains. And even then, there will always be new heights to reach.
-[X] Grand Dreams: Since your early days, you have been a dreamer. In your mind you led armies against imaginary enemies, held court before numerous subjects and ruled justly over the people. Every dream was different in some way, sometimes a general, a minister or even a king. But always a great one. You have grown up, but you never stopped dreaming.
-[X] Leave your Mark in History: Your family has left its mark on your home and your ancestors rose to heights rarely seen. Edged on by such a colourful family history you want to join their ranks in the future. To leave your own mark on the world, for good or bad.
-[X] Only our names remain: In the end only our names remain. From early childhood this sentiment was taught to you, by your elders. A man's reputation far outlives himself and you will ensure your own lives on, to your terms.

Sense of Justice: A superior gentleman cares for more than just himself. The welfare of the people. To battle injustice wherever he can and stop corruption from spreading. A sense of justice is important for a benevolent hero. How important is it to you?(Choose one option)
-[X] Hero of the People: To do what is right is never easy, but someone has to do it. Someone has to put the people first and his own ambitions, wealth or reputation last. If there is no one else you will be this hero.
-[X] Noblesse Oblige: You were born in a higher position than the common folk. It is your duty to help them, protect and shield them from evil. Whoever neglects such a duty deserves to be cast down.
-[X] Pragmatic: Helping someone else often brings as much to the one helping, then to the one who is in need of it. But if there is no advantage to it, there is no need to do it. There is no need for cruelty as is there no need for useless charity.
-[X] Self-serving Bastard: There is only you and your own interest. If everyone takes care of themselves, everyone is taken care of. No sense of justice or morality will bind you. Only your own wishes and desires.

Filial Piety: In the era of Han China, filial piety is one of the pillars of society. Acts of filial piety are upheld as the sign of a superior person and praised far and wide. On the other hand filial piety binds people into certain chains and some may like it more if such chains were cast off.(Choose one option)
-[X] Word of God: You would never dare disobey your elders and act unfilial. Their words and acts are as if Heaven itself speaks to you. Loyalty, obedience and absolute adherence are your only answers to their every request.
-[X] Honor thy parents: While it is important to honor your parents and you were taught this often, you act out sincere love and admiration for your parents. To honor them comes to you as naturally as breathing.
-[X] Necessary sacrifices: The time and age demand a filial son for you to be, so you will be one. But your actions lack sincerity and in your heart you know this is more show than anything else.
-[X] Unfilial: Parents hardly matter...so they slept with each other. Likely more for their own pleasure than to have you. You owe them nothing and will take everything. Your life is your own and will not be spent to worship long dead bones.

Character Quirk: Every character has them. Some are more common, others can never be forgotten. The little quirks every character has. Long Wanru is no different, or is he?(Choose one option)
-[X] Nicknames lover: You have a tendency to give nicknames to everyone you are close to. These names can be flattering or less so, but regardless how often you are asked to refrain from using them you like them too much to go along with such a request.
-[X] Passionate Hunter: You have always liked to go on a hunt. The exhilaration of it, the competition and the companionship. Everything is just so much fun.
-[X] Booklover: You always have a book or scroll with you and frequent the travelling merchants stalls to get new ones whenever possible. Some whisper you put the value of books above the lives of others. Baseless hearsay, of course.
-[X] Love your own jokes: Everyone likes to laugh, you do like it so much that you enjoy laughing about your own jokes or remarks. Regardless if they are funny or not.
-[X] Fan lover: Outside of combat you are never seen without a fan. It has become second-nature to have one in hand at nearly every time.
-[X] Passionate Qin Player: You love the music a great qin player can generate from the instrument and have taken it upon yourself to achieve the same. You are just not quite there yet.
-[X] Fascinated by Mysticism: You are fascinated by old legends, alchemical mixtures and old mystics.
-[X] No, thank you: ...and some people do not have such quirks.
-[X] Write-in: Nothing outlandish or secret bonus! I will veto such votes. @me and I can give my go ahead. This is meant to allow some easily recognizable feature to be added to the character or give an easy option for where scenes can play out.

During your childhood and on days of celebration there were often visits by your mother's clan. Members of the Jian Clan have a long history of serving as officials, either in their home county or in other regions. Generous in nature they often bought gifts and presents for you and your siblings. Among the many gifts they granted you, some stood out. Especially the gifts from your Uncle Jiang Zhongli, the older brother of your mother.

Scholarly Items: Your extended family was always welcoming to you. As a Clan of Officials they have come into possession of a multitude of things and were more than willing to part with some of them as presents for you. (Choose two options!)
-[X] A fine and expensive set of hanfu robes
-[X] A valuable history tome
-[X] A greatly decorated tome of the Five Classics
-[X] A valuable governance tome
-[X] A finely crafted Qin
-[X] A Jade Tea Kettle
-[X] Simple set of the Five Classics
-[X] A valuable copy of Qin Cao on playing the guqin from Cai Yong
-[X] Several volumes of the Book of Han
-[X] Collection Sima Xiangru's fu rhapsodies

AN.: After this there is only one part left for the Character Creation and then we jump into the Yellow Turban Rebellion.

Quirk is a simple addition, that should not be something big or expect it to be something important. Like stated for the write-in option it is meant to provide the blank slate of a character with a little bit of extra marking. Something that could be an accessory or just a fitting option to start scenes at. If you don't want that, just vote no and if the vote is close in this part I will open a poll for it.

Most of the pictures are from the options for original officers from RoTK 13, if you want to look for other options.

Um the pictures for the first four portrait options aren't loading in for me? So I'll go with option 5 then for potraits.

[X] Refined Leader
-[X] Option 3: Valiant Commander
-[X] Grand Dreams: Since your early days, you have been a dreamer. In your mind you led armies against imaginary enemies, held court before numerous subjects and ruled justly over the people. Every dream was different in some way, sometimes a general, a minister or even a king. But always a great one. You have grown up, but you never stopped dreaming.
-[X] Noblesse Oblige: You were born in a higher position than the common folk. It is your duty to help them, protect and shield them from evil. Whoever neglects such a duty deserves to be cast down.

Alright going with a refined leader of men with a obligation to protect his vassals but also has a love for hunting. Picture wise I may change since option five is the only one that works at the moment.

I changed to option 3 since I honestly liked that look more.

Got to know how to govern and not fall into the pitfalls others have fallen into. I hope the hunting option means we are a decent rider or archer

@Erzherzog_Karl would an 'Aspiring Calligrapher/Scribe/Author/Illustrator/Artist' be a suitable character quirk?

Perhaps a 'Calligraphy Set' as a scholarly item as well?
Yes, for the quirk but no for the item. Calligraphy is a fine hobby. For the item, you would just have a normal one. I would need to make that special in a way to provide a decent bonus, and I am not sure if I am able to do that.
... Shouldn't there be Plan's at the start of these votes?
The tally still catches it, slight need to modify but nothing too problematic.

-[X] Option 1: Young Strategist
-[X] Insatiable Thirst for more: You want more in life. More power, more wealth, more glory. Your name should be on the lips and in the mind of everyone in the Middle Plains. And even then, there will always be new heights to reach.
-[X] Pragmatic: Helping someone else often brings as much to the one helping, then to the one who is in need of it. But if there is no advantage to it, there is no need to do it. There is no need for cruelty as is there no need for useless charity.
-[X] Necessary sacrifices: The time and age demand a filial son for you to be, so you will be one. But your actions lack sincerity and in your heart you know this is more show than anything else.
-[X] Fan lover: Outside of combat you are never seen without a fan. It has become second-nature to have one in hand at nearly every time.
-[X] A Jade Tea Kettle
-[X] A valuable history tome
