Mandate of Heaven (Three Kingdom Quest)

-[X] Fight for the Empire: The court of Luoyang has sent out a call for all heroes to flock to its banner in defense of all that is good and right. It is the duty of every loyal son of Han to follow this call and prepare for battle. This rebellion needs to be crushed. (Aggressive Approach)
-[X] Create a Militia: Gather locals and form a militia to support your father's effort to defend the town. Starting with traveling xias to normal day labourers recruiting these men ready and willing to defend this peaceful county will surely help in your father's future battles. (LDR)
-[X] Father and Son: Long Weimin is the prefect of this county and this responsibility will surely weigh heavily upon his shoulders with a rebellion breaking out. After coming of age, it is only right for you to help your esteemed father in any way possible. But to truly be of help you need to understand this situation and who could help you more in such an endeavour than your father.
-[X] Read a book: One of the many presents from your extended family were some books. One among them the works of Master Yan, his annals. A collection of the wisdom of Yan Ying. Learning from him will certainly prove useful in the coming days.

@Erzherzog_Karl
As the eldest son of the Prefect, how much authority do we have?
- Is our authority second only to the Prefect?
- Or does our authority only extend to matters of Clan Long, as the eldest son and Heir?
You have no authority. The prefect may bestow you with authority for doing things, but you have no hard power. At most soft power, because you are the son of the prefect. And no one really tries to piss off the son of their boss. Official posts do not grant the family of the official any power. Only later on when the central government fails will the family matter in such a manner. The only exception to that rule is the position of the empress.

For Clan matters, your father is not even the patriarch yet. Your family has a better standing than your direct cousins, because your father is the only son. All close cousins are from other clans. The more distantly related ones are from side lines and do not get as much favor as your family. Similar to the prefect situation, your authority inside the Clan is mostly soft power. Favor of the patriarch, but no direct authority.

Added the current Bonds to the character information and pictures to your older family members. Also added the stats line of Long Guan. For Bonds there are more over Level 0, but I don't quite see the sense in flooding a list with too many characters without them having made an appearance.

Should probably include that in future updates just so people know. Good to know though.
It is not a hard limit and with me often posting updates late at night, for me, I sometimes go to bed before the time "runs out". In this case I would need to stay up long or use the automatic voting option. Don't like that escpecially when I would not be on to react on any changes. Without the hard limit I can just say I close it after I wake up in my break.

But I will include a simple text about it in the next update.

  • [X] Plan: Filial Facilitator
-[X] Protect the County: As prefect of a county, your father is responsible for the people in this region. His duty is their protection, first and foremost. The Grand Administrator and Inspector are responsible for the bigger picture. (Defensive Approach)
-[X] Organize work crews: In the coming days there will be a need for many things to be accomplished. To prepare for a possible siege, a moat or a ditch needs to be dug, walls reinforced, the gate fortified and many other things may be in need of constructing. To help accomplish them you intend to organize the local day laborers into one work force for dealing with this problem. (CHA/LDR)
-[X] Duties of an older brother: Your younger brother Long Hong is a troublemaker. While only being a little bit younger than yourself he has never displayed a similar kind of charisma or restraint. Always quick to anger, he fell in with some bad fellows who brought out the worst in him instead of curbing these violent instincts or channeling them into something positive. As his older brother it is your duty to step in and maybe help him in taking the first step on the long way of betterment.

-[X] In need of a weapon: To defend the city walls the troops will need bows or crossbows. For both you need to talk to the local craftsmen and check the armoury. While it is normally under the perusal of the Bureau of Arms, you consider yourself an able enough hand to have matters going your way quicker with personal involvement. (CHA/INT)

-[X] Mother's boy: Long Baiye is the wife of the prefect and mother of his children. Coming from a long line of officials, she is accustomed to their life-style and knows how to deal with the never-ending problems raising their ugly heads again and again. Her advice is something you seek and guidance for facing the upcoming crisis.

I saw this method in Slayer_Andersons Semper ad Meliora, liked it and therefore want to use it.

@Erzherzog_Karl what are the success/fail/crit ranges for rolls?
You can roughly think of 50 as equal to the 0 of the normal Ck2 scale. For easy tasks like most in the prologue 50-150 = 0-100 is quite accurate. Later on it will highly depend on the difficulty grade of the task. It is not a hard code system, because codifying something like that is really hard, but the steps will roughly be +10 for each grade. This is for the starting point.

Normal task have by themselves a DC ranging 10-100. This is added to the starting point.

DC10 Certain Success
DC20 Simple Task
DC30 Easy Task
DC40 Hard Work is needed
DC50 Problematic in some way
DC60 Failure is an option
DC70 Risky venture
DC80 High Risk, High Reward
DC90 Against all Odds
DC100 Well, you tried at least/ Hail Mary

So, in the end you can end up with a DC of 200, but considering you can get a simple stat bonus of 120 without considering any additional trat bonuses, I think it is not that brutal. Furthermore, such tasks would likely be rare and massively important. Like convincing someone with clear intentions to attack you to change his mind. As an ahistoric example you can think of convincing Sun Ce to wait with his attack on Liu Biao or open a second front against Cao Cao during Guandu.
