Magical Dreams (Warframe/Negima)

[X] GM rolls a new number.

Let's save it for something that canon doesn't cover.

Which option involves shooting the headmaster for instigating this fucking retarded plotline? Honestly, hiring than firing a teacher not even a half term into the year! Pshaw!

When did we roll those?

[Please roll 1d20. DM will use the first three (3) rolls.]

And the next three rolls were 19, 10 and 12. The 19 was used as part of your sanity check at the start of the arc given Ivara's pretty bad mental state after the dodgeball match. 19's a pretty strong roll, so this meant she bounced back hard. Without resolving the actual problem.

To be fair... Well, let me rationalise this line of thinking.

Recall that Negi Springfield was given a further training assignment after graduating from the magic academy in England as a teacher in Japan, and that he was given a trainee teacher position at Mahora as a form of probation, just to see if he can handle the pressures of being a teacher, because being a full time teacher can be a bit hard. Konoemon Konoe actually approves of his performance thus far, commenting that he'd like to have him on full time starting in April, and the headmaster has a fairly high opinion of Negi's abilities that he considers this task, to bring 2-A out of last place, to be a fair test of his abilities.

Excluding the five Baka Rangers, 2-A is actually pretty competitive with the rest of the year. It's just that the Bakas do so badly as to negate the spirited contributions by the rest of the class and render their genius advantage irrelevant due to just how catastrophically bad they are at tests, landing close to no marks at all. If all the Bakas just got around 50/100 marks, the class rank would shoot straight up to the upper echelons simply because they aren't dead weight any more. Seriously*.

What the Bakas need is quality one-on-one time with a really talented tutor, to be given sufficient motivation to actually sit down and learn, in a quiet place away from all distractions... and a rampaging golem to usher them out and towards the test after that.

*Also consider that three out of four Library Exploration Club members are pretty intelligent themselves and contributed a great deal to the class rank, and all three of those people came late alongside the Bakas, and were thus marked separately by the headmaster. the headmaster forgetting to tally their marks up with the rest of the class (because he's a bit silly,) lead to 2-A getting eight 0s instead of three ~80-90s and five sub-50s. It's not good for your class rank when a quarter of them get no marks!

I can't help but feel mixing "faked danger" and "PTSD patient" in the same plan is a bad idea. I mean Ivara was near tearing her hair out over a game of dodgeball, to me a plan to has a chance of trying to make her think her friends are in actual life or death danger is a bad plan. That's not even touching on trying to hide the whole thing from someone who compulsively gathers intel and may be willing to return what may look a lot like an assassination attempt in kind if she finds out the wrong facts.

I mean the part with the bakka ranges does somewhat track, assuming there were more safety measures in place than where obvious, but they really should have taken steps to keep Ivara away from this mess.
