"Selling tickets is an excellent idea, would you like to?" The guard who'd joked about selling tickets to the inevitable and epic battle of wits between you and Freyja raises a hand ready to say something, he thinks better of it a moment later.
"Yeah... tickets...." He murmurs vaguely. "Oh divines this is really going to happen isn't it?"
"Oh yes!" You reassure him. He doesn't look particularly reassured.
On leaving the castle with Morlia and Diana you go to find another shop to sell your loot, properly this time. No getting fooled by thieves or conmen a second time for you! There is, however, one sticky little issue you should probably broach with Morlia sooner rather than later. Like now sooner. It would be better not to have a repeat of meeting Diana if you do decide to recruit Lucas.
"Soooooo Morlia," you try and sneak up on the question sideways, crab style, hoping that that will somehow make the prospect less fraught with peril.
"If it's about singing, no. If it's about something only you seem to understand, no." Morlia pauses and you almost get a word in edgeways before she's shooting off again. "Actually, whatever it is, just assume the answer's no."
"Aw, c'mon. I'm just trying to help with your... our Dark Brotherhood elimination project." You wheedle. Morlia doesn't instantly respond negatively so you press on at speed. "Look, they're all sneaky types, right? Being assassins and all. So I was thinking, the best way to deal with enemy sneaky types is to have one yourself. And, while I would love to fill that role myself... I'm not exactly suited to it." You wave your arms to emphasis your point. The screeching and clanking of crystal sliding against crystal fills the air.
"He has a point." Diana agrees.
"And I suppose you just so happen to know a 'sneaky type' around here somewhere." Morlia asks sarcastically.
"Well actually...." Morlia patented glare bores into your helmet. "Look, it's not just about sneaking around. This hypothetical person, who I may or may not know, would have some contacts in the underworld and, statistically, at least one or two have to lead at least partway towards the Brotherhood."
"Fast, I appreciate you're trying in your strange way to help," you tilt your helm to one side in what you hope is a skeptical fashion, "I do, but what's to stop whoever you're thinking of turning around and stabbing us in the back? You might not be bothered much by gaping holes through the chest but Diana and I would be greatly inconvenienced by it."
"She means dead, we'd be very, very dead." Diana adds hurriedly.
"He understood." Morlia says sharply.
"Think about it, that's all I'm really saying." You back off the subject for now. You've conveyed the information you intended to convey and anyway a sign just caught your eye. "Say, isn't that the Mages Guild building?" You point to the tall stone construction with the blue sign hanging over the door, pentegram and eye inlaid on the sign in delicate threads of silver. Morlia's shoulders lose the tension that's been building in them for a while. Diana's rise defensively and she takes a step closer to you.
"Yes, that's the Mages Guild building." Morlia agrees. Good, you were thinking of buying some easily spammable spell to try and train some skills on the rest of the journey to Leyawin.
"Awesome, let's go have a look inside." You say eagerly. "Don't worry Diana, we'll just buy a couple of spells and skedaddle."
"Kay." Diana says quietly and sticks to your side like glue.
You open the door to the mages guild only to find yourself immediately tackled by a young man with a tonsure of brown hair, turquoise mage's robes that are a little too large for him and an expression of rabid curiosity on his face. "I've never seen a daedra like this before! Look at it! The crystals, the spikes, the glow in the eye slits of its helm! Oh the discoveries this could yield!"
