Let's Jump to It! [Jumpchain Quest]

It is likely that Draco is still in earshot at this point closed door or not. And git though he is, he tends to hold a grudge in ways that prove inconvenient.
True. Perhaps we can add a conditional to our vote where we make sure Draco is out of earshot before making any comments that might lead to him holding a grudge? That is, if @Jack of Olives is okay with that.

[] Compliment Hermione on her sick burns verbal fencing skills.
--[] (after ensuring that Draco is out of earshot) Make a deadpan remark about how somebody thought it would be a good idea to teach people like that how to mess with reality using a wooden stick.

Wouldn't want to offend anyone.

Malfoy should realize his apparent admiration for a rabid dog that has long since been put down isn't likely to win him many friends even in the small circles he'd like to keep to."

That's an awesome write-in. Definitely voting for that.
Thanks. I wasn't sure about the 'proper young lady' thing when we first met Hermione, but hearing her diss Draco in that plummy proper manner she spoke with at the start of the series made me realize how hilarious it would be to have the two of them go that route together.

Catty!Proper!Hermione is oddly easy to envision and the Wizarding World certainly has no lack of fools to take the piss out of in a very dignified way.

There is a 'Quote' in the end. Ya should remove it since it will mess with the vote tally.

What happened to not antagonizing Draco? Talking in a particularly formal manner doesn't exactly make what you're saying less offensive, especially when that's how verbal blows are traded in in aristocratic circles that Draco has been participating in since before he learned how to walk.

Tbf our family is openly anti-dark lord, and consequently we are unlikely to get that many browney points with Malfoys regardless.
Your parents were followers of some kind, although you don't know if they were actually Death Eaters or not. Your your grandmother openly blames Voldy and minions, but no one has heard your opinion, yet. :drevil:

Perhaps it would be best to keep our stance about the Dork Lord ambiguous for the time being?

Sticking to a "I'm just a nerd who doesn't particularly care about politics" narrative might help with keeping the more morally questionable elements of society from wanting us dead before we're confident that we can get into a fight with Moldy Shorts Voldemort and come out on top. Might also help with getting some favors from the well-connected side of society before things go pear-shaped.

I would strongly advise threadmarking your vote open posts, and removing them when the vote closes. Threadmarked posts will trigger alerts for those following large numbers of threads, rather than waiting for them to get around to finding it through the thick pages of faster updating quests
Missed the vote because the only notification I got for "vote open" was the tally for closed.

I agree. A lot of people missed the vote and I would have missed it too if I didn't just check manually on the thread.

Huh. Didn't know there was a minimum word requirement before they'd notify you guys. I'll do that in the future.

In fact.

DUE TO LACK OF NOTIFICATIONS VOTING IS RE-OPENED UNTIL

Also, the current 'winner' isn't going to work out well for you guys
Feel free to vote if you haven't or change your vote if you have
