Lets Get To It! Rwby Ideas/discussion Thread

It's hard to say, simply put we don't know enough about her because she got maybe three minutes of screen time and like twenty seconds of that was as a corpse.

You could spin it out into Ghira being forced to retake the reigns of the fang and start shutting shit down, but like, even when the towers were up Menagerie was probably the last to know anything.

more bad blood between Blake and Weiss

more unrest and negatve emotions in Vale for Cinder and her crew to use for The Fall

stuff like that

How much would the plot be affected if Sienna was killed before V1?

Maybe a scenario where she was assassinated by Adam's loyalists in the Mistrali badlands rather than inside WF headquarters, and the Albains blamed Atlesian special forces for the act.

Increased instablity, within and outside of White Fang. With Sienna getting martyred, and possibly under Adam, it would put the White Fang into a frenzy -- there's also another possiblity of infighting as well, depending on how you spin the story, where some of White Fang that aren't involved in the assasination might notice how convenient it all seems for Adam and co., or maybe they caught some holes in Adam's story, causing possible mutiny or splintering.

I could see a story in which Blake stays and it becomes an intrigue sort of plot where she tries to figure what the hell happened, like maybe she was Sienna's last point of contact before she got killed.

Sad, fun and tricky question, a lot depends on the context.

Did Ada try and do his coup earlier, did he utilize Cinder's backing to launch his coup, etc?

I think if he does his coup earlier then Cinder might struggle to recruit him. While if if done with her help she'd be keeping him on a short leash.

In the former case there may be a risk of Blake's parents being quietly killed but the coup and his plans would be more than enough for Blake to split likely leading to a White Fang civil war, while in the latter, Cinder doesn't care about Adam's ambitions and likely has him focus on Beacon with the promise he can get his petty revenge and do his secondary coup later. But I think in the case where Cinder's involved there'd be more push-back as there'd be more time for the White Fang to stew in things post Adam's Cinder backed coup and be like "hey this guy seems deranged."

Even crazier scenario would be if Ghira was killed in that Adam Short when they were ambushed.

Because then there wouldn't really be need to frame it as anything but what it was: a hate crime and thus sparks the flames of even greater Faunus retribution. Hell, maybe even Blake getting into Beacon for the same reasons Raven and Qrow got into Beacon and slowly turning RWBY into STRQ 2.0, disappeared moms, shattered survivors, and all.

Prompt: Pyrrha had a plan that would make Jaune forget all about Weiss.

Cunning Plan

"It's very romantic here, isn't it?" Pyrrha asked, sitting on the grassy hillside and snuggling up against Jaune. "Just the perfect place for two lovers to be at."

She was about to continue, to point out that a heterosexual boy and bisexual girl were already in said romantic spot. But that was both a big step to take and the sun was still pretty hot even as it set. So Pyrrha paused to sip from her water bottle before continuing. And Jaune filled the empty space right up.

"Yeah, I bet Weiss would like it here," Jaune said with a sigh, looking down at the ocean far off in the distance. "This would be another great spot to bring her. Thanks for all of the date ideas you've given me today, Pyrrha."

"I…" Pyrrha paused and took several deep breaths. "That's no problem, Jaune! No problem at all. But," it was still a bit too embarrassing even though this was the perfect time to bring it up, "it could be a great date spot for anyone. Not just Weiss."

"You think Nora and Ren are like that?" Jaune asked, pressing his hands together as he lowered his voice and leaned in closer. "I mean, you never see one without the other but my big sister Saphron, she's gay and she was tight with a guy named Micky right up until they graduated from high school."

"I wasn't thinking about them, actually," Pyrrha confessed. Whatever Nora and Ren had going on with each other seemed to be working for them and that was about as much as she could bring herself to care on the topic. "It's just, well, you could bring a lot of girls to a place like this, couldn't you?"

"What, like one on each arm?" Jaune sounded puzzled. "I mean, that's kind of," he coughed, "but I don't really think something like that works out in real life, you know?"

Pyrrha tried to think of a response to that which wouldn't mostly be screaming. She couldn't, so she stayed silent instead. That was difficult as well but not quite as difficult. She knew what she should say, she knew that if she just opened up, Jaune would surely accept her. He would, right? He had never given any sign of it before but if she did it now, then he would understand what she was offering and taking her up on it, surely. Just like in a movie.

Pyrrha managed to talk herself out of trying that before she had even said a word. Instead, she just sidled closer to Jaune wondering if it would be a good move to reach down and take his hand in hers. Just give it a nice, gentle squeeze and maybe… maybe he would get the hint and take things from there without Pyrrha needing to say anything at all.

He hadn't in the past three hours and four locations they had visited but there was a first time for everything, right?

Honestly I think she just really likes being the one doing the pursuit, she wouldn't have had a lot of chances for that previously.

I thought of a good fanfic idea. Cinder loses her memory after the attack of haven. She gets adopted by the women who finds her.
I'm a big fan of that idea, the one struuggle is that Cinder's Grimm arm likely tries to overwhelm and kill her, which could frighten the lady off. Then again maybe instinctive Maiden powers lead Cinder to destroying it before passing out, adding to the poor wet cat vibe?

I mean. That place looked like it was in the bum fuck of nowhere. Lack of CCT tower also means places in the bum fuck of nowhere are cut off from the rest of the world.

She also has a murderous mute hunting her.
Who would have no reason to look in the middle of bum fuck nowhere for her.

Like it might come up eventually the story likely can't just be Cinder's domestic amnesiac & very homoerotic life with a kindly stranger, but that doesn't necessarily END the story before it begins.

Crossposting some alien invasion and space story ideas:

Universe at War - Hierarchy invades Remnant during Vytal festival, CCT toppled, Cinder escapes as full Maiden, Dust harvested into space through usage of Hierarchy artificial gravity generators, Novus forms uneasy alliance with Valean resistance under Goodwitch and Qrow, Ironwood refuses assistance, Jacques collaborates with Hierarchy, Masari are long-dead godlike creators of the Ever After.

Titanfall - Earth makes contact with Remnant, gradually subverts Remnant into a client state, Earth dominates Remnant's economic and material dependency through IMC, Faunus Rights Revolution and Remnantian Spring brutally suppressed, Ozpin's inner circle works to undermine Earth influence, Frontier Militia contacts active on Remnant, Huntsmen Academies offer Titan training to select students.

Matrix - Cataclysm forced twin brother scientists to create half-magic computer program to preserve life on Remnant, Four Relics in-program are failsafe shutdown, Ozpin and Salem have minds uploaded to be eternal overseers of Project Remnant, Salem already unstable and turns Grimm programs into apocalyptic threat within, Salem thinks best chance of dying is to destroy program from within, silver-eyed Remnantians are buggy program meant to control Grimm, Four Maidens are Remnantians with anti-malware software, Dust works in space but "space" does not exist in program, galaxy outside computer is (Mass Effect/Star Trek/Babylon 5/Dead Space/Stellaris/etc...) universe.

Excuse me? How exactly does Titanfall Earth take over remnant? The materials remnant needs are unique to remnant, and Titanfall earth doesn't have the hardware to occupy Remnant. I like Titanfall, but those mechs can get solo'd by people with fairly minimal, if any, augs, actual hunters would mow them down for sport.

They'd have to literally hang ships in the orbitals and bombard a major settlement every time someone got defiant, and they'd get nothing for their trouble because if they start letting ships go up and down then a hunter will get up to the ships in orbit and fuck everyone on said ships up.

Had to do some quitck research XD

Matrix: That is certainly a fascinating spin on the Matrix and RWBY kudos there.

Titanfall: So based n what I read, the games mostly seem to take place in war-torn outer space colonies of the Frontier; to me that doesn't indicate the Earth polity is going to have an easy time subverting or taking over Remnant.

Universe at War: This seems like a fairly solid opening, but I don't see why the Masari would be the creators of the Ever After, especially as they are a playable faction in game. I do wonder what Salem is up to however and am kind of surprised Ironwood and Leo aren't both collaborating, and am also unsure how easy taking over would be.

I noted this when Halo crossovers came up, but Remnant is far from defenseless even against Sci-Fi threats. Hard-Light shields, people who move fast enough to intercept and destroy missiles, four weather controlling magical Maidens, a Relic of Knowledge, Creation and Destruction that if tapped could fuck anybody's shit up. & that is before we get into the fact that even the most shit tier Grimm can obliterate boulders, brick-work and cement and move as fast as a car, and there's hundreds of millions of them and they hate sapient beings. Let alone the more esoteric ones that posses people to spawn more Grimm or infest and take over physical objects and Salem herself. Remnant also produces its own mecha from the Atlesian Paladin and Spider Droid to the Goliath, so Titans would not really impress much.

I think there could be fun to be had in a crossover; but I think the default "Remnant in a subordinate position" is undercutting the potential.

The Matrix idea came from an MLP/Mass Effect 2 fic called "The Equestrian Equation"

Anyway, there was another Stellaris idea from a while back:

The Church of the Shrouded Covenant is a minor, but rapidly-growing syncretic religious faith on Remnant. Founded by a cabal of psionic Huntsmen and Huntresses after the Great War, the Church preaches how Remnantians have been abandoned by the Two Brothers and should now seek salvation and paradise beyond their mortal coil from a new entity, the Five Who Are One. Unusually, some people who do adopt this faith begin experiencing psionic abilities separate from their Semblances. The church is often accused of being a cult, yet it operates entirely on donations and its leaders are true believers.

Meanwhile, a minor saber-rattling incident between the United Nations of Earth and the Commonwealth of Man spirals into a first contact scenario with Remnant.

As the two ideologically-opposed factions arrange for diplomatic/trade relations with the human and near-human population of Remnant, intelligence assets within the Galactic Community become aware of the presence of the Shroud on Remnant.
