Lets Get To It! Rwby Ideas/discussion Thread

Well now that was quite fascinating, I take it this is new and based on Destiny right? Just want to make sure XD

Seriously though it was quite impressive, the fusion is odd/interesting, Pyrrha & Jaune are there, but Weiss and Ruby seemingly come from Remnant (Weiss seems oddly subdued all things considered) but at different times?

The descriptions are evocative and compelling, painting a grand image of the world and setting while tying in excellent world building and character info and hints about the past, such as Ruby's time training with Qrow.

Some portions of the exposition felt a little forced like the "She doe snot like letting her students die" bit. But those were in the minority compared to far more natural interactions and there was a good flow, especially in the rescue mission.

Yeah, it's Destiny. It started as a world building exercise from a few months back, since we get a lot of conflicting facts from the Grimore, and the fics I started after it (A Dragon Age Inquisition crossover with two Rubys, a Borderlands crossover, a RWBY/SWTOR/Rebels crossover, and Walking) all required heavier world building (and all, except Walking, will be posted here in due time)

Technically, everyone other that Jaune (who is just a Ghost that Pyrrha named after Jaune) are from Remnant.

With the expectation of Weiss (who got Vex'd) everyone is showing up in the inverse order they died. So, Ruby, Pyrrha, and a member of Cayde's team are all from Remnant (and most of the other Battle of Beacon casualties are there too)

Forged in the Light

---

Ruby leaned back, gasps escaping her as she attempted to regain her lost composure. No way. No way.

Ruby heard Pyrrha's feet walk across the wood paneling, even out of her pneumatically sealed armor the steps were like gunshots. It wasn't even that Pyrrha was loud, Ruby's hearing had just been elevated to that level upon becoming a Guardian.

"Was that really Weiss?"

"I don't know," Ruby moaned, running her hands across her face. Traveler's Light, she didn't want to deal with this, "The last time I saw her was seven hundred years ago, I can't remember what she sounded like."

At some point, despite Ruby's struggles to avoid it, talking about it in length to Finn, her memories of Remnant had became blurred. What was Yang's mother's name? How many siblings did Jaune have?

Even things after the Collapse blurred together at times. Had she spent three years wandering the Atacama following Rezyl's dea- disappearance or four?

"Hey," Pyrrha sat down beside her, pulling her into a one armed hug, "It will be alright. If it's Weiss, it will be nice to see someone else from Remnant, if it isn't, then at least you rescued someone from the Black Garden."

"But if it's Weiss, how did she get there? The Vex weren't on Remnant, they shouldn't have her."

"We'll figure it out, Ruby. One step at a time."

"You know the worst part? If this is Weiss, she's going to be really angry when I tell her she can't leave the city without a Guardian," Ruby mumbled into Pyrrha's arm, eyes locked onto the pitted surface of the Traveler out her window.

"She could become one of us."

"Only if a Ghost chooses her, which I doubt."

"Why?"

"They were all made at once, and Weiss wasn't in the solar system, so I doubt there's one for her."

"I wasn't in the solar system either, but Jaune was made for me."

"Yeah," Ruby pulled out of the hug with a sigh, "I need to head back to the Tower, can you meet me there in four hours? I think it might be a bit easier for her if we were both there."

"I could go with you now."

"You," Ruby pointed a finger at Pyrrha, "Need a shower. You smell horrible."

"I don't-"

"Yes, you do. Go, Now. Before I make you sleep on the couch."

Pyrrha laughed, "Ok, ok, I'm going!"

"Finn, do you mind-"

"Shuttle's already on its way. ETA 2 minutes."

"Thanks, buddy."

Ruby let her armor rematerialize, feeling the light armor pressing against her body through the skintight suit.

Reluctantly leaving the loft, Ruby stepped into the elevator, bringing her to the bottom floor.

"Finn, remind me to buy the condo below mine at some point. I want someplace other people can stay, I don't think we'll be able to fit myself, Pyr, Shin and Weiss into a single loft."

"Already sent the order, should be ours within a week."

"I really don't know what I would do without you."

"Be dead?"

Ruby didn't give the sarcastic remark an answer, stepping off the elevator as the small car pulled up. Perfectly on time, as usual.

The door opened, allowing Ruby into the back, the Frame driving turned to face her.

"What is your destination, Ma'am?"

"Overwatch District, sub-sector T-4, Vanguard."

"Please give appropriate clearance."

"I'll give you appropriate- Grimoire-Helos-Vista, Ruby Rose," Ruby growled out, trying to ignore the mounting headache. Which Commander came up with this idea? She bet it was Ayane. The other Hunter had always been a stickler for military life.

"Confirmed, setting to priority one."

"About time."

The shuttle started to move, and Ruby leaned against the window.

Ruby saw Finn appear over her shoulder in a flash of Light, the sparks raining down. Worry was clear in his eye.

"What?"

"You need to relax. I know you haven't been sleeping well since Crota died."

"I'll rest when Oryx is dead."

"And when the next disaster comes? Ruby, you're going to burn yourself out."

"I'm fine, Finn."

"Approaching Overwatch District."

"Call Amanda, would you?"

Finn's spikes span, mulling it over, no doubt. Then the accented voice of the Tower's head mechanic came into the cab.

"Ruby, what is it? I'm busy loading some… goods for that job-"

"I have no idea what you're talking about Amanda," Ruby cut in loudly, eying the Frame, "I just wanted to ask for you to get my ship ready, I'm going to take a loop around South America after I talk to Zavala."

"Right, I can do that."

"Thanks."

"Any time. Have you heard from Cayde? He isn't answering my calls."

"He was a bit busy last time I spoke to him, but should be back in the Tower before eight tonight. He needs to drop someone his team rescued off with me, then you can grab him."

"Alright, your ship should be ready within a hour."

"Thanks again, Amanda, I need to get out of the City for a bit."

"Any time, really."

Ruby stepped out of the car, and into the high speed elevator in the Vanguard entrance. Closing her eyes, Ruby let her mind flicker to the past.

The bite of the sandstorm tore at her skin. Her left hand was nothing but a flayed mass of flesh, and the Fallen prowled around her, thinking she was dead. Cute.

She looped around Deimos, letting the Cabal missile crash into the smaller moon. A laugh burst forth, and Ruby flipped her ship, firing.

Ruby opened her eyes, walking out of the elevator, and towards Zavala's office.

"Zav, I need to ask you something."

"Ruby, we were just talking about you," the blue-skinned Commander looked over.

"I wasn't involved," Ruby responded without missing a beat.

The other man sitting at the desk stood, towering over everyone in the room. His face was covered in white hair.

"That sounds like a confession of guilt to me, lassie."

"Then I guess you're hearing is going just as quickly as your wits, Grandpa. Maybe if you didn't take so many hits to the head, you'd be in a better place."

The man walked over, reaching out, and pulled Ruby into a hug. A booming laugh echoed through the room.

"It's good to see you, Ruby."

The Hunter wrapped her, arms around the man, "I missed you too, Holb. How'd Mercury treat you? Pyrrha said it was hot."

"It was, except during the nights, then it was dreadfully cold. Made the Sonoran look like a nice day."

"I bet, so Zav, whatcha need me for?"

Looks like she wasn't getting out today.

"Holborn was looking for you, and I told him I thought you were taking the rest of the day off."

What.

"Zav, we've worked together for thirty years now, have I ever taken a day off?"

"There's a first time for everything," Zavala looked guilty, "You really should, Ikora and I have both done so recently."

"Maybe when Oryx is dead. If you don't need me, I'm going to do a loop or two are South America."

"Stressed?"

"A team I sent out found someone in the Black Garden, I'm going to be meeting her and helping her get situated in the City in a couple of hours."

"Why did you send a team to the Black Garden?"

"I sent Cayde's fireteam to look for Tev, guess where he was."

"He's alright?"

"Yeah. Probably will wish he had died there when I get my hands on him, but it won't be anything his Ghost can't fix."

"Very well, should Ikora or I be there?"

"Nah, I've got it handled. So, am I clear?"

"Of course. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah. Holb, see you later?"

"See you later, Lass."

Ruby walked through the halls, taking the stairs down two floors to where the Hanger sat.

"Amanda! Is she ready?"

"Yeah, should be waiting for take off."

"Good to hear!"

Ruby walked over to her ship. The heavy fighter already being moved onto the runway by a Frame.

Finally, a bit of time to relax.

---

Weiss watched the group, a hand on Myrtenaster. Most of them had started to ignore her after the call with 'Ruby' had ended, three hours ago.

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. Standing up, she drew her sword with a flourish.

One of them, the horned mech, glanced at her.

"Put the sword away, I don't need my ship any more broken than it already is. Ruby better pay me back," he turned back to the game, electric blue eyes watching the cards.

"Not until you tell me where I am, and who you are! I was kidnapped by strange mechs, you all come and grab me, and now you're taking me somewhere else! Are you planning to ransom me to my father?"

"Why? Is your father important?

Weiss stopped, jaw hanging open for a moment, "Yes!"

"Good, it should make getting you back to him easier. What's his name?"

"Jacques Schnee? The head of the SDC?"

"Never heard of him, any of you?"

Weiss noticed the woman in the white cloak pause, before shaking her head with the rest.

"What's SDC short for? Maybe they're in the Consensus?"

The what? No, not important right now, "The Schnee Dust Company!"

"Dust," The blue skinned man Weiss had found in the Black Garden scoffed, a bottle hanging from his hand, "If your daddy somehow managed to get rich off dust, I really don't know whether I should shake his hand for pulling a fast one, or introduce his face to Hawkmoon for fucking people out their resources."

"Dust is difficult to get!"

Tev reached down, scraping the red dirt of the desert they had arrived on off his boot, and blew it into the air.

"There, Princess, dust. That sure was hard to get."

"Not that kind of Dust!"

"Then what kind of dust?"

"Dust Crystals!"

"Oh, sorry. Let me scrape some more off and pack it up."

"Nature's Wrath?" Nothing, "Elemental Crystals?" Nope, "the stuff powering this ship?"

"This ship doesn't run on Dust, it runs on gas," the Mech rolled its eyes, "anyway, we're taking you to the City."

"Which City? Mantle?" No, they had been in a desert, "Vacuo?"

How far had she been taken?

"Princess, there's only one City."

"Speaking of home," Hob's voice crackled over the failing speakers, "We're starting our approach now."

White Cloak walked over, gently leading Weiss back to her seat and strapping her in.

"Hopefully, Ruby will be able to help you."

Weiss opened her mouth to say something, but jerked back suddenly as the plane rumbled.

After the most hectic hour of Weiss's life, the mech, Cayde, helped her out of the ship and up a flight of stairs.

"Ruby! We're here!"

"Come in, Weiss. Cayde, Amanda was looking for you."

"Yeah, I know. Good luck, Princess."

Weiss stepped into the room, looking around.

The first thing she noticed was the wall, coated with Scrolls showing everything from maps to biometrics to schematics for guns.

The next thing she noticed was the desk, or more particularly, the two women at it.

One was sitting with her legs thrown up onto the desk, ignoring the paperwork sitting on it. Faintly glowing silver eyes stared at her through a short bob of hair, and she was wearing what appeared to be a wetsuit with scavenged armor over it. A red cloak with silver embroidery was hanging off the back of her chair. Sitting on her hip was a massive revolver, as black as night except for the silver rail sight.

The other was someone Weiss recognized.

Pyrrha Nikos's heavy armor, missing the loose flaps of cloth and belts of the other woman, was colored bronze with red accents, and looked similar to what Atlesian soldiers wore. The only exception was the red cloth that hung from her waist to her ankle, which was embroidered with many bronze symbols. Squinting at them, Weiss made out several of the symbols on her future partner's waist. A circle bisected by a spear, a hexagon cut into four triangles, two large and two small, two crescents facing downward.

"Weiss," the silver eyed woman clapped her gloved hands together, drawing her attention, "So glad you could make it!"

Like she had a choice.

"Who are you?"

"Come on, you know me!"

"I do?"

"Yeah, it's me! Ruby!"

"I don't know any Ruby. I know you though," Weiss directed that to Pyrrha, "Where are we, Pyrrha? Everyone one is acting like they don't know the SDC."

No answer.

Ruby's jaw was hanging open, and Pyrrha looked bewildered.

"Uh…"

"You can tell me later," Weiss cut them off, "I wanted to ask, do you want to be partners?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"When we go to Beacon, do you want to be partners?"

Ruby's face slowly shifted, a stormy look overtook her face, "Weiss, what is the last thing you remember before the Vex took you?"

What?

"I was finishing the test my father gave me to go the Beacon."

"I see," Ruby's expression went flat, "Weiss, I hate to tell you this, but we don't know any way to get you home."

"What!? Just call my father!"

"We would, if he was in the same solar system as us."

"What are you talking about-"

"Weiss, look at those maps, do any of them look like Remnant?"

Weiss's eyes flickered to the wall, before stopping.

No. None of them did.

"What-"

"Things like time and space don't matter to the Vex. They grabbed you, took you from Remnant, and left you here."

"Then find a way to bring me home!"

"There's no way."

"How do you know-"

Weiss stopped, staring at Pyrrha. Oh.

"The same thing happened to you."

"It wasn't the Vex, as far as we know, but yes."

"How long ago?"

"Seven hundred years."

"Don't joke about this."

"I'm not. Guardians like us, we don't die."

"Everyone dies-"

Ruby wiped the gun off her hip, and Pyrrha looked away. What-

The revolver didn't make a sound, but Weiss saw something shatter, before Ruby's skull exploded into a shower of gore.

Weiss couldn't resist the shriek that rose up as the dead body collapsed to the side, the revolver falling from limp fingers, and spasmed for a moment before it stopped.

One of the little robots everyone seemed to own flashed into existence, waving a beam of light over Ruby's body, which disintegrated.

The red spikes span around the center eye before it spoke.

"Let there be Life."

In a flash of light, Ruby's body hung it the air for a moment, before landing. Ruby's head turned to the side, looking at the robot.

"Isn't it supposed to be 'let there be Light'?" Ruby teased, like she hadn't just come back from the dead.

"She didn't know that," the robot whined, "It made me look philosophical!"

"That's your idea of philosophical?"

"It sounded cool!"

"Cool and philosophical don't mean the same thing!"

Weiss watched the two go back and forth, slowly calming down from the shock, before speaking up.

"So I'm stuck here?"

"Yes. I'm sorry."

Weiss looked away, trying to keep the tears down as fear gripped her. She would never see Winter again? Never inherit the company?

"Now what?"

"Now, you stay with us, until you find what you want to do. This isn't the end, Weiss, even though I know it feels like one."

"I was going to be a Huntress."

"That isn't possible anymore."

"So, I should just give up?"

"I didn't say that," Ruby spoke softly, "We'll try find something, Weiss, but we have other things to do. You dropped in at a bad time."

Ruby stood, taking Weiss by the hand.

"Come on, it's getting late. Let's get something to eat before we get too worked up."

Weiss followed, feeling numb.

Yo have you guys talked about a predator crossover on this thread before

Yeah, it's Destiny. It started as a world building exercise from a few months back, since we get a lot of conflicting facts from the Grimore, and the fics I started after it (A Dragon Age Inquisition crossover with two Rubys, a Borderlands crossover, a RWBY/SWTOR/Rebels crossover, and Walking) all required heavier world building (and all, except Walking, will be posted here in due time)

Cool, it did seem to be a rather sudden switch compared to the last ones so I was unsure for a bit XD

Ah I see, thanks for the clarification.

Sorry this review took me so long.

Anyway this was a solid segment, Weiss was suitably frustrated and upset but controlled enough to fit her character. Ruby & Pyrrha's closeness was clearly well shown, though it seems time has done a number on her reactions to her old partner not remembering her. Then again we are seeing it form an outside perspective and she is seven hundred or so. Some of the exposition and descriptions felt a little on the nose, but the scenes flowed very well and the changes in perspective felt very natural, I also liked the description of the room when Weiss entered, her seeing them as Scrolls is a well handled little detail.

It's less that Ruby doesn't care (it certainly hurts that Weiss doesn't remember/never met her) and more that Ruby has some experience talking with people whose perception, and existence in, the timeline is less than normal (read: how Osiris is "Alive and Dead" and "appeared everywhere at once" during the Battle of the Six Fronts) so she knows better than to hold it against Weiss.

Violation of Rule Three: Be Civil
*yawns*

Oh look. More crossovers starring Ruby that make her incredibly OP. What. A. Surprise. You are all truly at the height of originality.

Jesus Christ why do I even bother with this garbage fandom? It's a garbage show anyway . Why the hell am I still subscribed to this thread? Well I'll fix that right quick. Bye. I won't miss any of this.

Fair enough, as I said it probably had a lot to do with seeing it from Weiss's outside perspective as well so its on me, your stuff is very well written, and thanks for the responses.

That's what happens when you deal with RWBY fanfics. It's always wish fulfillment.

Crack prompt: Weiss Schnee tries pointing out the fact that her dad's entirely non-racist by doing her best to make him look classist. This somehow leads to the White Fang becoming a group of communist revolutionaries. Of the most painfully optimistic derivation of Red Scare ideas of the Soviets, as in fitting the Red Scare ideas of the Soviets while being obscenely optimistic about it. Competence at making communism functional optional, but if they do make it work, I recommend a scene of economists and politicians wondering how the hell they made it work with the level of vulnerability to corruption and incompetence in governance it has.

Do note the crack intent. It's a very silly idea. If you want to go full crack, the story can develop into Menagerie somehow becoming a communist superpower able to keep up with Atlas.

I'm actively trying to avoid dragon age spoilers cause I picked up the games a little while ago, but I so want to know what's going on here.
Without getting into too much detail (don't want to ruin it for you!) A certain spoiler-y character who has too much power (for spoiler-y reasons involving the Fade and Veil) throws the Inquisition (like, almost the whole thing, down to Skyhold and the horses)... diagonally through the Fade so they can't stop his plan to *spoiler* leading to Volume 4!Ruby (from around the time her and Jaune were carrying Qrow around) who touched the MacGuffin of Inquisition after it was thrown through the Veil, existing in the same timeline as Volume 1!Ruby.

It's mostly a deliberate counterbalance, Inquisition!Ruby is fairly cynical, kind-of-angry person (you would be too, after getting no closure on any matters on Remnant, having accepted that you won't get home, with the plot of Inquisition (which, alongside most other Bioware games, is succinctly summed up by Varric with the words "If you love a character, you give them pain, ruin their lives, make them suffer.") and having to deal with four years worth of Orlesian politics (Orlais is a country where the national sport is the trope Deadly Decadent Court)) with her heart in the right place (if you hurt one of her friends, Maker-help-you), and is forced to take a secondary role due to spoiler-y events in Inquisition's endgame, while Volume 1!Ruby is the same perky, happy girl we all know and love (Her older self owns a castle? That means she owns a castle! :D)

Ultimately (as I have it planned out) Volume 1!Ruby, Blake, and the ensemble cast of Inquisition's multiplayer are all equally (and in many casses, more) important than Inquisitor!Ruby (who I called Rose for sake of ease, even though I hate that bloody fic) because, her story has, on some level, ended. It's done. The Big Bad is defeated, the day is saved, the villain for the next hero has been revealed. Close the manuscript, send it off to the editor, call it "All This Shit is Weird".

It's why every other fic I write has Ruby in a place of leadership, where she has nowhere to go but down, it means that she isn't the main character. Sometimes it's hard to tell who is due to me loving ensemble casts just as much (looking at you, Rathma (admittedly, we haven't met most of the Nephalem that round out the cast... what? Did you think Ruby was the only one? She just has the advantage of being physically closer to the Worldstone, so she got hit with the ripple first) and Walking), but it isn't her. And if I decide I want to do something with her? Well, she has only one way to go. Down. and to quote Sacrifice, "Falls from grace are never elegant."

Interesting stuff, even if i called the 'Cynical-Ruby/Optimist Ruby' dynamic from the word go. I was expecting the two to be dumped into Orlais, having to work together to save this new world their in, but this works as well.

And now all this talk of multiple Ruby's has me wanting to create a bunch of Alternate-Ruby's from different fictional universes and throw them all together into one big crossover.:drevil:

If you're looking for something different check out my fanfc
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10598292/1/Betrayed
It includes a non-OP ruby so perhaps you'll like it

Betrayal is the only truth that sticks-Arthur Miller

Ruby Rose first joined beacon with a childish attitude and extreme passion for justice, she had joined at just 16 years old and was by far the youngest student at beacon, she had few friends, just Velvet and Blake (unofficially) yet despite her friendliness people hated her for how she was favored by the teachers and out of sheer jealousy for the shadow she cast over their school. Even Yang was also no different but for another reason, she didn't like the idea of adopting a stranger and had always been cold to Ruby but now seeing herself overshadowed her ego could not be contained.
RWBY was a ticking time bomb of opposites that would never fit together and would only last as long as the teacher's gaze was on them. And now the time was right…

Ruby lay on the roots of an ancient tree, her cloak torn, her clothes in ruin, several shards of her precious scythe in her hands, she had held out against the hordes of Grimm until her Scythe broke and a Grimm gad slashed her, a red stain just above her left hip
"So this is how it ends?" Thought Ruby, her demise advancing upon her with a white smile "no friends beside me, no heroic last stand, just death" as the Grimm drew closer, she accepted her fate and closed her eyes waiting for the final blow, a blade sliced through the air and she heard a roar from the Ursa Major.
She opened her eyes, the Forest floor was littered with mountains of Grimm corpses she had slain earlier, she looked up and she saw a man in a uniform of sorts. He wore an overcoat with some sort of webbing hanging lose in leather pouches and black combat boots and gloves, he had black hair and was wiping his sword with the hide of one of the freshly slain Grimm.
As if feeling her stare the man turned to stare back. He had a visibly bald head aside from a few tufts of Black hair around the side, he stared further and asked
"What are you doing in these parts eh?" Coming up to her and kneeling down in front of her hunched form "You're miles away from civilization… you don't look one of the villagers" he looked down at her scythe "No, you must be a hunter or a madman to come here, which are you?"
Seeing that now he wanted an answer Ruby obeyed and told him "I was here on a training exercise but my friends abandoned me here"
"So that's it… You're a Hunter-in-Training right?" She nodded "(sigh) I see, well I can't leave you here now or my wife would kill me, and you want that wound looked at right? How about you come with me. We aren't too far from my extraction point, how about you join me? Eh?"
Ruby looked up at her savior and quickly accepted his offer, she may not know much about medicine but from how her whole blouse and corset were stained crimson
"Excellent, I'll give you some basic first aid and then we can head on over there" He opened one of his pouches and produced a tampon, some bandages, a bottle and tweezers. Checking the bottle he swore lightly and chucked it to the side, he looked back at Ruby and told her "Well looks like I'm out of anesthetic from all the people I've been saving lately, we'll have to do this the old fashioned way" as he picked up a branch and snapped of a chunk, "Bite down" he said offering her the twig, she did so reluctantly but continued looking at him in interest as to how he would prevent her death. The man unsheathed a small utility knife.
"You do know what you're doing… right?"
"Well you don't have much choice do you? But technically… Yeah, I've never had any real in-depth training but if I know enough to fix myself countless times I probably know enough to fix you"
The procedure was painful but necessary as the man began to operate on her. "Say, what's your name? on second thought don't answer or the gag will fall out, and we wouldn't want you screaming and calling the whole forest to us eh?" he said as he attempted to remove her corset. "You know this thing kinda saved your life, heck if it hadn't absorbed whatever hit you you'd be in far worse shape. (Crack) whops, I hope that didn't hurt"
"No, but my corset is certainly broken now" Ruby mumbled through the gag
"Beater the corset than a bone. Anyway, bite now this may hurt" having removed the corset the man roughly stabbed the tampon in and quickly bandaged her side. Indeed it did hurt, not as much as it did earlier. "Easy on the wood girl, or you're going to get a mouthful of splinters to go with the stab wound" she stopped biting and indeed felt slightly better "Now try standing up" said the man packing his tools up "I need you able to walk if possible but tell me if it hurts, alright?"
She tried to stand up, but could only do so with a grunt and instantly clutching her side "No, I can't"
"Yes you can, you stood up didn't you? You can walk… but hold onto me while doing so"
"What's your name by the way, you couldn't tell me earlier, how about now?" asked the man as they walked further into the endless red forest
"Only if you tell me if you know where you're going, cos se seem to be going in circles"
"Alright then, the forest is covered in paths where people often walk, we're on one right now, you can tell by how the leaves are rather beaten here, almost to a mush in fact. Anyway, what's your name?"
"Huntress-in-Training Ruby Rose, or perhaps just Ruby now" said Ruby looking sad
"What do you mean?" asked the man curiously
"I don't want to talk about it. What is your name by the way?" answered Ruby in an obvious effort to steer the conversation away from her personal life
"Alright, I'm not going to intrude on that that. The name is Phill, Phill Philipson, No idea what my mother thought when naming me that(heh)" he looked down towards his watch "anyway I arranged to be picked up at 4:30 and now it's 4:32… The driver is obviously late, it shouldn't be long before he arrives.

Indeed it wasn't long before the few birds left in the trees were spooked by an engine's chugging. Along trigged an armored personnel carrier with only two or so crewmen visible smoking from an exposed roof hatch.(imagine a FV432-Look it up) Dressed in an autumn oak leaf camouflage the metal beast had slightly sloped sides and a single door at the back, no cabin was there to be seen aside from a few vision slits at the top alongside a single machine gun manned by a bored looking crewman; he wore similar attire to Phil but wore a crash helmet as well as Oak Leaf colored overalls over his coat.
"Phill… That you?" shouted the crewman over the edge of the machinegun, attempting to outyell the engine of the APC
"Yep, that's me, you're running a little late innit?"
"Yeah whatever, stop complaining or walk, that's how we do things in the mechanized" he paused and shouted "Besides. All them logistics guys were bogging us down in paper so it's not really our fault anyway" He gestured for the two to enter.
Phill threw him a thumbs up and leaned down to Ruby "that's our ticket, ladies first" and pushed Ruby towards the APC, She climbed in and found the inside to be covered with wires toolboxes and god knows what else, but the two long padded benches were certainly nice to sit on compared to their earlier walk.
"Hey Phill, whose the girl?" yelled the same crewman at Phill just as he was coming into the armoured back
"She got lost in the woods…"
"Yeah right, next you'll be bringing them over in a white van"
"Chill Gregory or your sick disses are gona set the forest ablaze and command will have my ass for it"
"I was only joking; any friend of yours is a friend of mine. She has got one nasty gash right there, she can lie down or something if you move some of the boxes and I'll tell the driver to drive easy, k?"
"Thanks mate, you hear that Ruby, you can get some rest and I'm sure that wound will heal far better if you don't move around" noted Phill while moving some of the boxes to free up a bench "here, have a lie down I'll wake you when we arrive"

Ruby decided not to argue as she was indeed quite drained and that she knew that her aura would heal her up if she slept. And off she went, despite the loud engine and the banter of the three above Ruby Rose went to sleep.

Stop: Why not a vacation from SV as a whole as well?
*yawns*

Bye. I won't miss any of this.
why not a vacation from sv as a whole as well? This is not the way to express the above sentiments. @thesevenwielder has been given a fifty point infraction for breaching rule three, increased in severity due to previous infraction history of the same topic in the same thread.

Crossposted from my account on SB.

Putting this here since I don't think it warrants a thread and I think this is the best place for it. I was procrastinating on work and decided to combine two of the things I love, RWBY and MOBAs. Specifically I converted each member of RWBY into a DOTA 2 hero complete with abilities, some stats, and Talent Tree. Posting Ruby below but If you guys are interested I can post the rest of the team (stored on a Word Doc)

Ruby Rose

Attribute:
Agility (determines what attribute gives additional damage)

Attack Type: Melee

Role: Carry, Nuker, Midlaner.

Stats:

Strength Gain: Average (Strength determines HP. For strength heroes it also adds damage for every strength point)

Agility Gain: High (Agility determines attack speed and armor. For agility heroes it also adds damage for every agility point.)

Intelligence Gain: Low (Intelligence determines mana pool size, regeneration rate, and to a limited extent adds onto spell damage. For intelligence heroes it also adds damage for every intelligence point)

Movement Speed: Fast

Base Damage: High

Base Health: Low

Attack Animation: Slow

Base Mana Pool: Average

Abilities:

Debilitating Shot:
Ruby fires a well aimed shot from her sniper scythe at the target which slows for 20% for 2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds and does 150/200/250/300 magic damage. Has a cooldown of 15 seconds. Leveling up increases damage and slow duration.

Rose Dash: Ruby launches herself at a location or enemy using her semblance. If the enemy is a target Ruby hits them for her current level of Crescent Rose. Cooldown is 22/18/16/14 seconds and levelup affects cooldown.

Crescent Rose (Passive): Ruby uses the recoil from Crescent Rose to enhance her strikes power. This applies a 20% slow and crits for 250% her current damage. Their is a 15%/20%/25%/30% chance this will trigger. Level up increases chance to trigger

(Ultimate) Red Like Roses: Using her semblance Ruby turns into a veritable tornado and strikes at all enemies in a medium sized AOE for 4/5/6 attacks. Each attack will have Crescent Rose automatically applied to them and while using her ultimate Ruby is invulnerable. This ability has a cooldown of 80/60/40 seconds. Level up lowers cooldown and increases the number of attacks.

Talents:

Lvl 10:
+20 damage or +180 health

Lvl 15: Debilitating Shot gains a small Area of Effect or 15% Lifesteal

Lvl 20: + 20% magic resistance or Crescent Rose allows slows attack speed.

Lvl 25: Bonus three attacks on Red Like Roses or Rose Dash is now charge based with a maximum of 3 charges.

Likely unbalanced as all shit but I had fun with it.

Lads, is it my impression, or someone still has to make a decent crossover between Code Geass and RWBY? I mean, RWBY has terrorism all over the place, a world monopoly on Dust (Sakuradite), some Tensios between the Kingdoms, they are kingsdoms (which just asks for a revolution), and Vacuo is a power vacuum. I had some ideas for a crossover:

Lelouch is a Schnee. Somehow, he is banished and he promises himself to destroy his family's business empire by:
OBS: headcanon: there's also normal majors in the main schools of remnant, like they are not all about huntsmen.

1. He studies in Vacuo's main school. The attack in Vale leaves Vacuo is a difficult position because the fear of Atlas increases, and Vacuo is heavily explored by the Schnee for Dust. After they see the transmission from Vale, country erupts into a civil war. Cue Lelouch in the background, gains the geass, launching himself in his endeavors to destroy the current world order.

2. He is a student in Vale, decides to compete with the White Fang for Faunus support. He gains the geass by accident, just like Code Geass canon, and launches his operations

Or, one of the above but:
1. he could just not receive a geass
The geass is his semblence

I do wanted him with no semblence and aura. Having a normie, even if genius/mind controller, beat up the world sounds more challenging. Also, geass is already OP.

thoughts?

they are kingsdoms (which just asks for a revolution),
I think the term kingdoms is just a hold over, they have democratically elected councils (though Ironwood seems to have twisted the system and Vacuo is more of an anarchic mish mash)

I do think there's a lot of fun for potential crossovers between these series in one form or another.

As it stands you seem to be trying to import Lelouch and his narrative into Remnant which I am not sure works super well though.

Lelouch and Nunnaly were banished for some very convoluted reasons from a very unique culture and enviroment, marched through war zones and then got taken in by a well off family of old allies. Additionally Lelouchs motivations have always been built around Nunnaly, with vengeance/spite/justice being more secondary.

In comparison, the SDC is a business without a warped 'survival of the fittest' mantra and banishing children in their circumstances (Thus providing Lelouch his motivation and rage) would just make them look bad. And even then the background and pressures are rather distinct, plus Weiss and Winter both resist and fight against the family in their own ways as well, complicating the issue, and also making it unlikely for Lelouch to be banished given that's not how Jac handled his other rebellious kids. Plus being a Schnee would give him access to their Semblance which complicates matters again.

Given Remnant has magic stuff lingering around a Geass is not an unbelievable addition, though you would likely need to think about the broader implications with that Geass order, who knows what, who also has them ETC.

Then about how Aura and Geas interplay, does having an Aura or a mental Semblance allow one to resist or subvert a Geass? Cos if not, wow it'd be even more broken than it was in the original show and if so, it drastically complicates things on Lelouch's end.

Sorry if this was unhelpful.

[post=PostId]Title[/post]Nice points @Zam, thanks.

I also finding some trouble at importing his character. I wanted to avoid Nunally so as to not repeat part of the original plotline. I did want to include some characters from CG, as vacuo for example has little description on the series, giving me sort of a free reign over its characterization.

About the mantra "survival of the fittest", I was looking into substituting such for simple hatred or disgust from his father. I was looking into paiting the Atlas society, although militarily advanced, seems to be quite conservative and I was seeing if I could pull this into all sort of prejudices.

For example, had Lelouch being a child from outside his marriage, Jacques would just send him away, perhaps kill him by prrssurr of the rest of the family to avoid outsiders claiming their wealth.

In vacuo, SDC could be painted as a sort of a colonialist force, exploring the land and its people for dust. The fact that the country is a bit of an anarchy fits well here with the hypothesis that its political system is completely broken from outsider influences. I remeber seeing in one of their side videos how vacuo was having trouble with their increasingly scarce resources.

So here, you don't just have the faunus, but a society in decay. (cue French Revolution references)

EDIT:
For motivation purposes, I was also thinking having some of lelouch's friends die, and he is thrown into his first battle trying to protect them as vacuo enters its civil war

I am glad I was of some use, thank you.

Its a tricky line to walk, I don't envy you.

The difficulty with not including Nunnaly is that she is rather tied to Lelouch's character on a fundamental level, so removing her drastically alters everything about him.

I find the idea that anyone else in the family would pressure Jac to kill his own child unlikely. Jac having ha a child before marrying into the Schnees could work for a similar kind of feel though and could allow you to put Lelouch in his twenties if you prefer, with Jac mostly just feeling Lelouch is of less use to him than a child of Schnee blood (two thirds of whom hate him, but he's not good at prioritizing)

I think the SDC already plundered everything of worth, though I could be wrong. Though yes the kingdoms closest semblance of unified leadership is the academy because the people of Vacuo respect strength, they have no council, royalty or anything else.

The society doesn't seem quite as self destructive as you paint it I feel, though yes there are definitely problems.

Not sure Vacuo is united enough for a civil war, but that could definitely help, though lelouch always struck me as... not being too close to anyone in canon besides Nunnaly, but I may be being uncharitable.

As Alice walked with Headmaster Ozpin, she finally realized 2 things.

1. The headmaster was not a normal human.

2. He really loved coffee.

Whenever they stopped near a store or diner to get food, he would always make sure to look for coffee. There were always zombies, hiding within.

And Ozpin would take them down. Every. Single. Time. The zombies would do nothing than make a single grunting sound or start shifting their limbs, and the silver haired man will be there. Moving faster than her eyes could track, smashing apart heads and bodies to keep them down.

Ordinarily, this would have been impossible for Alice. She had tried looting a few times, but each time, she was chased off by undead. After a close call where she had to kick away a zombie that had grabbed onto Sarah. Deciding not to risk her daughter, she had only looted from shops and stores that she was sure that there were no zombies within. This made things slow, and the food she had gotten was barely enough

But traveling along with this... man? She was safe. Bending over to stuff a box of cookies into her pack, she watched as Ozpin rummaged through another cabinet, searching for his coffee.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"H....headmaster? How did you do that?" Alice was still in shock at being alive

This made the Ozpin confused "What?" he asked.

"That... that thing! What happened to those zombie!" Alice was pointing a shaking finger at the zombies that had myateriously disappeared.

"Oh, so that's what you call these here. On that note, Miss...."

"Miller. Alice Miller." At this point, Alice was getting annoyed.

"Ah, thank you. Miss Miller, where is this place? It does not seem to be the city of Vale. "

"Vale? This is Atlanta! Where on Earth have you been?" Alice was by now shouting, her near death experience playing hell with her nerves, which was only contrasted by the mans answer

"What's Earth?"

This continued on quite awhile, until Alice managed to gather several things. Ozpin was an alien with soul magic superpowers from a world full of monsters called grimm. And he ran a school for superheroes. Apparently, shamblers were a type of grimm whom possessed human corpses.

Ozpin smashed down the steel shutters on another door like tissue paper, walking into the store, smashing apart the heads of a swarm of zombies that had been hiding in there.

He was definitely superhuman, thats for sure.

"So.... where do we go from here?"

Disturbed from her reverie, she asked :"what?"

Without turning his head, he repeated:" i mean, what do we do now, since we have enough food? Do we exit the city, and go into the surrounding countryside? Where there are less people and less zombies? Or do we stay here, where we can scavenge food, but with crowds of shamblers are hiding?

Gesturing to the pile of corpses and himself, he continued:" I can take care of myself. However, I am more worried aboit you and your child, Mrs. Miller. It may be wiser for you to reach a place with less undead. Preferably one with a group you could join. Strength in numbers, and all that."

Frowning, Alice found herself agreeing. Taking a deep breath, she was about to answer when she heard a man screaming. He said."help, help! They're going to get me! Ayudame!".

Running towards the voice, they saw a teenager dressed in a singlet trapped between 2 cars, surrounded by a horde of zombies. In a few moments, it was all over.

Ozpin was extending his hand to the shocked youth, smiling." Good morning. My name is Professor Ozpin. What's yours?".

The teen hesitated, and then replied."Miguel."

I think I saw a RWBY thread discussing Infinite Loops--basically Peggy Sue forever and forever. But I can't find it. Did I dream it or something? Does anyone know where that thread is?

I don't know what happened to the thread but I do recall some purging of the loops community happening over at SB.

Here is a link, to the compilation of the stories and it does still update so if you want to write for it I'd recommend pm-ing the author.
