[X] Go and see Linette.

Where's our money Linette?!

That aside, what a fantastic fight! In retrospect, that was exactly the lesson Linette was hoping to teach Nearl, that playing the KGGC's game just meant the megacorps would win in the end, no matter how hard or skillfully she fought.

To mirror what other people have said, that fight was absolutely amazing as both an action scene and for the exploration of both characters!

[X] Go and see Linette.

Edit: Oh no I didn't mean to make that pun...

[X] Go and see Linette.

She didn't send all the money her and Beats got out from Czarny to Lech yet right?

[X] Go and see Linette.
-[X] "You know, on one hand, that's a great fight you just put up and I am proud of you. On the other hand, 12000! that every single drop of my money! And I just wasted all on you! God, damn it! I am more poor then a fucking Rat now! So you better come along and so we can do more missions together so I can have my pay checks, you hear me?"

On one hand, I'm not sure if Sieg would say the part beyond the great fight part. On the other, I love this

[X] Go and see Linette.

[X] Go and see Linette.

She's been avoiding us and that will not stand. We're collecting our Dumbass Members whether they like it or not. Including ones that are from the AK universe.

Arknights Boss Profile: Linette, Mirrored Knight
Linette, Mirrored Knight: Arknights Boss Profile

Linette, known as Linette, Mirrored Knight in-game, is a boss enemy in Arknights. It is one of the two bosses of Lurking Beyond Light, with the other being ███ ██████████ █.

Description

"Those tears shed in pity became a weapon of war. Does she know who she is? Is there anything left beyond the hall of mirrors, or is it all reflecting nothing? When you look into the mirror twice, it eats away your humanity. And the satisfaction it gives is only temporary."

Drains 3 HP when entering the Objective Point; after a certain period and if this unit's HP is lower than 60%, shapeshift. Shapeshifting will transform this unit into a different boss and alter statistics, and takes 1 second. Will shapeshift again at 40%, 25% and 10% HP.

Statistics

HP: 100.000
ATK: 800
DEF: 600
RES: 40

Attack range: 1 tiles (Melee)
Attack interval: 1.6 sec.
Speed: 0.7 tiles/sec.
Weight: 3
Life Point penalty:3

Overview

"Mirrored Knight, Linette. The finalist of two Majors. Hides all of herself. Can regenerate, will shapeshift into different enemies in time and when reaching certain thresholds in her HP total."

Linette is a dangerous foe with a staggering amount of health thanks to her self-healing capabilities, but lacks much offensive power by herself. While in base form, she has three abilities.
  • Linette attacks once, dealing 100% ATK to an Operator in the 8 tiles surrounding her as Physical damage. As she has very fast attack speed, this can be dangerous to low-DEF characters. (Ranged.)
  • Linette delivers a kick and a punch, dealing 70% ATK to an Operator blocking her twice and stunning them for 4 seconds. (10 second cooldown, melee.)
  • Linette will heal 15% of her maximum HP with the heal having a 3 second animation. (30 second cooldown, will be used for the first time 15 seconds after she is first damaged.)
25 seconds after she has first spawned, every 20 seconds afterward, and after a certain amount of HP is lost, Linette will choose a random form from the following list, altering her stats and losing all abilities but her heal:
  • Mlynar Nearl
Range increases, attacks hit twice and are ranged, change to Arts and hit for 70% ATK. ATK halved, DEF becomes 700 and RES becomes 50.
New range:
[ ][ ][ ]
[X][ ][ ][ ]
[ ][ ][ ]
  • Degenbrecher
ATK doubles, RES falls to 20, Attack Speed becomes 4.5 sec. Can now use Momentum Murder (Prototype), dashing 2 tiles ahead dealing 140% Physical damage and draining half the SP of all units in the path. This version does not stun. Momentum Murder will be used only once per transformation.
  • ????? (Iori)
Attack Speed becomes 2.9 sec, ATK becomes 600, RES set to 0, movement speed becomes 0.8 tile/sec, gain 25% Arts/Physical Dodge, does not stop moving to attack, attacks can hit any unit in a cross pattern (similar to Texas' Sword Rain) and have a random (the same effect does not stack, only refreshing duration) property between:
  1. Inflict -40% DEF for 10 sec
  2. Inflict -40% ATK for 10 sec
  3. Inflict -40 ASPD for 10 sec
  4. Ignore 400 DEF
  5. Double own Dodge for 4 seconds
  6. Backstep 1 tile, hit 3 units
  7. Stun unit for 3 seconds
  • ????? (Vermillion Cross)
Attack Speed becomes 2.5 sec, ATK quadruples, DEF doubles, RES set to 0. Attacks inflict Burn (200 True Damage every second over 3 seconds). Movement speed becomes 1 tile/sec until an unit is reached, afterwards deal 100% damage to them and halve speed.
  • ?????? (The Gloompincer)
Attack Range is now melee only. Attack Speed becomes 0.9 sec. Become immune to Bind, Stun, Freeze and Levitate. Weight becomes 1.
  • The Sami Snowpriestess
Attacks deal Arts damage and are ranged. Attack Range expanded. Attacks inflict Chill for 4 seconds. Once per transformation, will release a wave, dealing 160% damage and inflicting Chill to all units in range for 15 seconds. Deals 100% extra damage to units with Cold.

New range:
---[ ][ ][ ]
[ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]
[ ][ ][X][ ][ ]
[ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]
---[ ][ ][ ]
  • The Rusthammer Warrior
No special attacks or properties. Maintains original Special Attacks. Speed becomes 0.3 tile/second, with it increasing by 0.2 every 10 seconds she is unblocked. Has 1200 ATK, 2100 DEF and 100 RES. Will only be used in the final threshold of 10%.

When Linette, Mirrored Knight is defeated, all units in the field recover all of their HP (even summons and unhealable units.)

YOOOOOOOOO FUCK YEAH HYPE

God, that fight descended into an insane chaotic brawl near the end, and I can't help but think that somefuckinghow that 'giant gloompincer' is connected to the 4th Front of the Smoke War (That centipede-like Abno formed out of human bodies and barbed wire), but the question would be what kind of situation Linette would've been in to see an Abnormality.

That aside...I'm thinking after that level of intensity, some rest and calmer discussion might be in order; So...

[X] Go and see Linette.

Nicole's got this mission in the damned bag; She can beat the Armorless Union at their own game, if her time in the Sargonian Wastes as an assassin is any indication, and I think sticking around (and maybe giving Linette a little shit for losing all our cash, even if it's not a huge issue) is the best choice here. That, plus, I can't shake the feeling it might be best to stick around and see more of the stuff going on.

I don't know the exact architecture of Kazimierz, or if we're anywhere near it, or if it was a flashback, but sticking around the Fighting Area when someone touched by the Light is going up against an opponent that excels at emotional manipulation (namely fear) seems pretty prudent.

"That girl came by and bought off my other one. She didn't have much, but… I couldn't let the sale pass by, could I? A little more. A little more, and I'll be able to buy a ticket! A ticket to Laterano, no? To find that Sankta."

The man stares at the madman before him.

"That girl?"

He waves off the question.

"Perro. Came by. Doesn't matter! What I sold to her isn't useful to you, anyway! You'll find this one far more interesting."
..izzat a mention of our girl, C O B?

[X] Go and see Linette.

Really liked the fight.

Not sure where everyone's getting lessons along the lines of "you can't win if you play by their rules" from, I thought Nearl's takeaway was pretty clearly "just use true damage"
Obviously she learned from Amiya, too. Who says you can't you just Chimera away all of those pesky social and organizational issues impeding the Infected's liberation? Clearly this was what Talulah was doing wrong, Arts damage is obsolete.

I apologize for the recent chapter delays, but I was a bit busy celebrating my birthday this week.
Next chapter will come around... The weekend. Maaaybe.

Happy birthday! One year closer to death. One year closer to the end of this fic. One year closer to... huh, Arknights takes place in 1096. 927 years too late for that, then.
One year more! This has all been very fun. I have just so much plans in store.

Stay tuned for the next chapter: in which Tola loses his shit.
