Ghosts also don't got bodies no more and you can do necromancy to them.
Ye but they souls ain't getting dibs on
Like we only have the Norsca option because they got drop from the fours graces
Oh sure, but if you got one of the handful of methods of true killing daemons. And Rituals can do weird stuff. Even if it takes more AP than anyone in the DL thread is willing to commit lol.
I don't doubt we could kill em I don't think we could necro em Like the gods is (I believe it would be more headcanon than anything I got from an official source) that Gods are technically story based entities as opposed to demons being more of a gear

Do you think it's possible to do necromancy to daemons? I mean, Nagash may or may not have killed and raised the gods of Nehekhara, and they're all just warp entities.

I'm just saying, Skarbrand would make a pretty good exhibit.

I think you'd have to win an arm wrestle with Khorne for ownership of the soul (or demonic equivalent) first.

And since demons might just be fragments of their god's soul in the first place... Well, let's just say I don't want to test that anytime soon.

You don't need to kill the daemon. Just exploit Shyish's connection to the passage of time and abuse it with Dhar until you have temporal stasis. That way, you can trap the daemon in a way that allows for a visible display that's open to the public.

So you'd think, but from what I've heard having to come up with reasons for everyone to show up to Dark Shadows and Nemesis Crown and potentially other big story beats that never got off the ground was directly cited as a reason for doing the End Times.

I believe that they said that, I don't really believe they were truthful. Getting people in the same place is a writing problem, but the writers weren't the ones making long term decisions for the brand, that was some guy in marketing who noticed sales fell 5.2% or the like. I find it easier to believe the corporate accountants tried to shift the blame to the writers than that any competent professional writer would struggle to find a halfway plausible reason to get two or more factions on the same battlefield.

You are basically making a daemon host at that point. You could probably be able to do that with necromantic methods but why would you when the souls of the dead come with so much less baggage.

See we shouldn't display demons for two reasons

1. They have no culture for they are spiritual dead end

2. Then the lizardmen really will kill us

Well, probably quite a bit more than 5.2%- the oft-quoted phrase is that GW was making more off of paints than they were off of WHF in 8th edition.

(That the reason 8th edition did poorly was probably down to mismanagement more than anything is of course a separate issue)

I think getting to be the much older, wiser mentor figure to either the relatively young princess, or the same role to elf mafioso who thinks he's all that would be great.

To back up this point let us consider the Nemesis Crown.

The mcguffin is a warp stone crown with boss dawi runes on it. The dawi are there because they want to seal away the evil artifact, the Empire should be working with them to do so, Brettonia can be either helping the empire or doing a land grab under cover of helping or both. The green skins want the shiny gubbins and a good scrap. Beastmen, Norscan raiders, and Skaven all want the crown because awesome warpstone artifact is wonderful for them. Zacharias the Everliving is right there who can want it for Skaven esque reasons or for nerd reasons, so that's the vampires sorted. The Druchi are raiding. The Lizardmen don't care about the crown, they are here because they heard about plaques and just want to get their stuff and get out. The Asur want to know what the hell is going on here. The Ogres are there as Mercs. The Tomb Kings are there because an Empire noble from the area pissed them off by taking the mummy gold, or one of the tomb kings decided to do an adventuring, or some shit.

Did I forget anyone?

Oh right, the wood elves... Something something world roots.

[X] Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar

New continent, new student. And also having an in with Ulthuan for as long as it takes her to make some mistake that is absolutely not Uncle Paht's fault is definitely the biggest gain of the options so far, even if it means a bit less immediate British Museum-style acquisitions.

[X] Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar

We need a protégé!
We're also just about the only undead on the Vampire Coast the High Elves would be willing to treat with
And when our soon-to-be new student turns into a powerful dark wizard, well, it won't be OUR fault of course...
Just like all the previous times!

Edit: Also, I just thought of something
@Boney will Captain Drekla show up in this quest?
He's a fun character, I always like a good, loyal goon

What shape would that even take? Regular Azyr's already got curses for bad luck and weatherworking, so some variant of hexing or storm magics doesn't really feel like a sufficient divergence or inversion when introducing Dhar into the mix. I guess maybe something to do with pressure? Making the air so heavy and/or solid that flight becomes impossible and breathing is like trying to inhale molasses?
Inversion isn't something Dhar universally does. Shyish becomes necromancy and Ghyran become necromancy, but other winds just become mildly nastier versions of themselves. Ulgu becomes Lore of Stealth, Aqshy becomes Lore of Hashut, and Ghur becomes Lore of the Wild.

Dhar+Azyr would probably just make some kind of tempest magic.

I would posit that there basically two different ways to do dhar/wind combos. It's not that "dhar + ulgu = lore of stealth" it's that "dhar for power and ulgu for control = lore of stealth" and that doesn't mean you couldn't separately construct a philosphical corruption of ulgu, something like "actually fuck confusion and misunderstanding, im making a Lore Of Mind Control."

[...] contacts might [...] be corrupted by spending resources on them, as they are given reason to delve deeper into this illicit avenue for achieving their personal goals.

So, the last time the MC "corrupted" a "curious" young princess, she became so morally degenerate and perverted as to create a whole faction of slutty immortal temptresses.

Now, we are set to try again, this time with a more experienced widowed elf princess who's been lacking the carnal touch of her departed husband for soooo long.

I've read doujins with that plot.

Uh, heard about. Heard about doujins with that plot.

Ok, I like the Princess option too, but I am seeing a lot of people say they want our local lion to interact with her directly. That is probably not an option that is likely, right?

Only much later in the corruption line, as her business dealings with the Vampire Coast have already been said to be more than she isn't looking too closely at who is buying the animals or signing sales of not very legal things. She is not even close to an ally, but we will see if the good old Uncle Pat's charm can change that and make her open her eyes to the wonders of death magic?

We will probably talk through letters with requests for her to keep an eye on this or that because we would be interested in buying it or sending an intermediary when it is time to look for something more precious or secret.

Wow a quest that hit over 200 pages in only half a month! So, THIS is the awesome power of Divided Loyalties...

[X] The Salt Lord
Getting some Sunless Sea vibes from all those bats. With all the undead we're rolling with, someone might get Unaccountably Peckish.
