Iron Dragon vs. The World! (Pacific Rim/Godzilla Parody Quest)

Hagane has some wiked natural weapons. it does 2d10 in close combat and skewer grapplers with its passive and +3 grapple bonus. It does not need ranged much.

Hand to Hand: 4
Ranged: 0
Strength: 3
Toughness: 1
Agility: 3
Dexterity: 0

High Strength and HtH to make even better use of that. (Want to reverse engeneer its "Wicked Claws").
Why the other at 0? Upgrading one from 3 to 4 costs 20 upgrade points. With a chance of 3/10 (4.5 generated points per taken improvement action) it would cost 4 to 5 action to improve one stat but by improving one from 0 to 1 only one to two.

Next combat Hagane can shock with its presents and by investing 6 actions in the downtime it would get another 3 points.

A bit riskier but min-max strategies are that always. Chalk it up to overengeneering.

For reference its stats at capeture. With DNA computer it already has all the weapons.

Well from the looks of it, our new Jeager loves the mountains.

Hagane Arashi: 鋼 嵐

Character for "Mountain"

I'll also change my vote to Portec's.

We seem to be going for a melee-centric glass-cannon style build with this fellow.

5.3: Pilot Designation.
Now for the even more fun bits; figuring out who's driving the darn thing.

I'm assuming that the Naruto team was a joke, so here's what we've got for pilots:

[ ]@Mechasaurian's Stingray Captain (I'd personally like to name her, if you don't mind)
-[ ]Two other pilots- Player made (Character Creation time! I've got a cool thing that I nabbed from CAvTW for you lot to try out)
-[ ]Two other pilots- GM made (Please don't make me do this.)

[ ]Three completely different pilots
-[ ]Player made (Character Creation!)
-[ ]GM made (PLEASE please don't make me do this)

Not for long. We will invest in Thougness shortly.
Now we need pilots.
We have one pirate. Who I like very much.

[X]@Mechasaurian's Stingray Captain (I'd personally like to name her, if you don't mind)

[Insert japan-ish name]
She belonged to Japans military before the catastrophe. Her seriusness and dedictation let her join the special forces beside beeing female. In a male dominated enviroment she learned the workings and developed a style that was just as direct as her favorit weapon: The shotgun.

Brash and direct and dedicated to a fault to prevent beeing stept over by less caple colleagues simply because of her gender had made her a canditate for Squad-Captain. With the catastrophe halting all personal desicions and the obsolete mandate of the special forces she is eager to prove her worth.

Alright then! Character Creation time!
Here is a list of adjectives! Pick two for each pilot. There's perks in it for you at the end. The two pilots can share descriptions, or be different! If you think of something not on the list, add that shit!

Oh, and they'll need names, too.

Left Side --------------------------- Central Pilot ----------------------------Right Side
-------------------------

Reckless, Patient, Quick, Disciplined, Experienced, Hot Blooded, Calm, Violent, Kind, Brave, Creative, Vengeful, Intelligent, Observant, Aloof, Skilled, Eccentric, Wise, Cruel, Honorable, Dishonest, Direct, Refined
For example, Mako and Raleigh were Vengeful/Intelligent and Creative/Reckless, respectively.

As for your Pirate? She seems Ruthless/Skilled.

[X] Central Pilot: [Pirate]
[X] Left Pilot: JSDF Member Male/ Formerly on Maser Cannon Squad. Disciplined/Experienced
[X] Right Pilot: Navy Female. Observant/Eccentric

I propose:

Center: Pirate [insert name] Ruthless/Skilled
Left: Soldier [insert Name] Disciplined/Hot Blooded
Right: Manager [insert Name] Aloof/Quick

I don't know agreeable names.

Manager:
The economic collapse could not have come at a better moment. Her travelling business was starting to produce deficits. The global problems just does not convice enough people to go traveling. In the present situation she did not believe to get any customers at all and even was happy that the dept she had gathered had disapeared together with the bank.

Edit:
Why not so?
Center: Pirate [insert name] Skilled/Ruthless
Left: Soldier [insert Name] Disciplined/Ruthless

J-1 Karapace Heavy Shell.
700 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 6
Durability: 10
Resilience: +2 Edged, -1 Burst, -1 Fire
Special:
Requires Strength 3+. You can have as many pieces as you have Strength.
-Jaeger Armour Blueprints: Supercomposite Hull!
Costs 300 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 5
Durability: 8
These are the better armors we have avaiable.
Compared to the Armour Value of 3 that Round Iron Pauldrons have that is quite the step up.
I am for keep reseaching the Karapace armor for removing its special and making it lightweight or making a lightweight variant of it = J-2
The number implies that we can do some stuff with it. Maybe combining the Supercomposite Hull and Karapace? Yeah I am dreaming but who does not?
200 mm Gyrojet Rifle
7000 Resources
Carried Ranged Weapon
Rifle-Type Weapon. Fixed Magazine.

Attack Dice: 1d10+1/2d10/3d10-1 (Fire select: Semi-Auto, Burst, Full Auto)
Damage Type: Impact
Damage Bonus: 0
Armor Penetration: 2/1/0
Range: 30/20/10
Reload: 1 Turn
We does not yet have a jeager that is geared towards ranged combat ('74 is technically not our jeager). So maybe upgrading Yukon with the heavy shouldermounted Coilguns and this will be a good idea.
I still think we should start a research into combining Gyrojet (supreme firerate) and Coilgun (supreme penetration, dmg and range). Just because it would be even more extreme.
Bio-Jaeger Regeneration/Adrenal Injection System ('RAIS')
3500 Resources
Starts with 4 Adrenal Charges and 2 Regen Charges. As a Minor Action, one Boost can be activated. Only one Boost can be active at a time.
-Adrenal Boost: Expends 1 Adrenal Charge. +1 HtH, Str, and Agi for 1d5+1 Rounds. -1 Tou for 1 Round afterwards.
-Regen Boost: Expends 1 Regen Charge and 1 Adrenal Charge. Heal 1d5+1 Strikes, and 1 Minor Wound effect (Vitals, Eye, Connpod, or Brain damage)
The repair action would become dosing it in this stuff as well. Do the normal repair heal stuff like the missing eye as well?
And what about the charges? It has 6 together and recharging would cost R. But how much?

Kiryu's 5 in Range says hi.

We might need to make an entirely new one. Which could be interesting as R&D can put bullshit in it that a normal eye wouldn't have access to.

A...former business manager? Could work, but I'd sort of like some more character, y'know?

There was this idea I rather liked from a few pages back. A guy from a rich family whose fortunes were devastated by Kaiju attacks. Now he has the opportunity to the pay back the Kaiju for the misery they have caused him...but to his horror, he has to do so in a re-purposed Kaiju.

Or something like that.

I approve of making Quillback our speedy melee attack dog. We'd best improve its toughness, though.

I visualize Kiryu as our allrounder. Future points would go into HtH and Strength.
As well as it ranged weapons are not really that good (blame '74)
That's why I want a Positron Sniper Rifle. I don't care as much if the power consumption for the attack would be massive, Range of Other Side of the Horizon please!

Also are there military satellites in PR? Just using those for data collection would be a massive boost to our capabilities. Use those to find the height, range, and velocity; add one firing solution and Boom, Headshot.

Interferences have destroyed all planes.
I don't think satellites are a thing any more because Tokyo uses radio for long range communication (100km in total) instead of satelites.

Focus, people! We need pilots!

Would you support those?
I am not good with creating personalities on the go. Maybe it need some expanding...

I don't like the fact that they are all "Ruthless." I feel like that limits the character interaction between them to "Everytime we do anything together we are testing the inter team power structure and seeing where we stand."

Games of "Backstab" can be fun, but if that's all Hagane's crew has going for them, they're going to tire out pretty quick.

That and I'm not sure if you meant Manager or Travel Agent.

More on the JSDF soldier: Variant (Disciplined/Experienced)

Yagami Taiki (Name unimportant) sometimes thought that he was born in the wrong era. Or more frequently that his family was trying to keep to outdated traditions in an era that had far out stripped them. His family had been those of Samurai, but what good was your physical strength against those who towered over buildings? Far better, to have steady aim and a good eye.

Their era had passed with the coming of guns, but before it could really sink in, a newer age when men fought not against men, but against the those like unto the spirits themselves. An era of bleak hopelessness.

But yet, man did not die whimpering and cowering. They brought their weapons to bare. And from what worked they fashioned new and better. Then in their hour of need, the spirits sent one of their own. Now armed with knowedge arcane, humanity fought back.

And now for their greatest defenders, the foes are not giants. While there are guns, so too are their fists. And humanity has learned a thing or two about struggling with foes with only their fists and wit. Over a thousand years of tricks to bring to bare.

If only those greatest defenders can work together. The Drift can bridge many a gap, but it does not fix all. While the Drift has led Taiki to better understand his fellow pilots, all that often does is make it all the more difficult to not strangle them when pushed. Still he is the oldest, he has the most experience both against Kaiju in general and fighting another being. He has his family's teachings, and their expectations. Toyko is at his back, and she will not see him fall.

Observant/Eccentric

She was... strange. Of that, no one doubted. But those quirks often were what made her so good at her job. Seeing the little signs and details in bone dry reports and numbers to find out piece together that a population boom had just occurred and that resources in the area would be strained within two weeks.

Catching the patterns in a long string of nonsensical numbers that unlocked the message about a new patch of land from a message that couldn't have been secured.

She could make the numbers dance. Volume of an oblong spheroid? Ten seconds. Best locations for troops for both overlapping fire and to keep from clustering? At a glance. Intense desire for peanut butter on sushi? Everyone around stopped questioning it.

Her stint in the navy had taught her much, principally that living on a ship was cramped, loud, smelly, and privacy did not exist. That it wasn't for her.

Firing solution to hit someone over the horizon? Show her the gun and she'll tell you the angle.
