General Description
The United States is a nation that has power again, after recovering their pride and power in the wake of the early 21st Century and WW3. A new sense of Manifest Destiny has taken over the American psyche in recent years, with them feeling that their has to be an American presence in as much of the Solar System as possible, maybe even beyond. America has learned from the previos century though, and are thusly slow to extend Friendship to nations, and even slower to form alliances. America's main priority is it's people, willing to act a lot faster than the previos government on actors(state or Non-State) that threaten them or other American interests.
History
The first two decades of the 21st Century weren't kind to the United States, with conflicts in the Middle East bringing it low(Basicly OTL 2000-2016). The next two weren't much better, when the threat of ISIS finally brought the US to the Middle East again to fight anouther war. While the actual war went fairly well, ISIS made extensive use of 'homegrown' terrorist-proxies to strike at the US proper, causing damage to property and American Morale. Eventually, this was topped off by a Dirty Bomb Strike to Washington DC, which wiped out the highest levels of the US Government. In the aftermath, the lower level government officials started tearing the country apart between their varios political parties and the interests they represent. The US Military seized power before the split got anywhere near official, and deposed the former state and lower-level federal officials. The US Military started working towards a skill and competency based Meritocratic System, like what nominally governs a military. It was during this time that Canada closed off it's bourder, and stopped trade, making the bad situation ALOT worse for the United States. The Canandian 'Betrayal' caused a political situation to evolve into a financial one as Canadian Oil dried up and jobs supported by Canada's trade disappeared over night. .It took most of the 2030s for this new government system to form, along with the Social supports built around the system(depicted in Culture/Society). WW3 for the United States began with the reignition of the Korean War, North Korea launching strikes against South Korean targets to hopefully push an easy win. American and South Korean counter-strikes were equally ferocious. The war turned into a bloody stalemate, with America acting as a support for South Korea, not wanting to dedicate too much in case the steadily worsening global situation ignited elsewhere. These fears were confirmed when China made a move for Taiwan, using North Korea to soak up the attention of ASEAN(an Alliance that had been ailing sense the United States change in government) and the United States. America defended it's ally, getting into a series of the largest naval engagements sense WW2. Eventually other commitments started to call, threatening to overextend the United States Military. NATO and the EU were having trouble in Eastern Europe, and Israel was facing horrible odds from several muslim countries in the Middle East and North Eastern Africa. While both of these fronts gained American assistance(mostly in the form of Task Forces and Special Operations units), China kept America's attention. The War went back and forth, neither power gaining the advantage. Eventually China struck at Canada, for mysterios reasons, and Canada demonstrated a retaliatory capability. China backed down, and America was furios at Canada once again, this time for not doing something more solid and possibly saving American and Chinese lives by possibly ending the war, this sentiment increased with the actions on both sides following 'Chinese-American Desolation Day'. Eventually a series of Chinese nuclear strikes devastated the American 'Breadbasket', the American response destroyed Three Gourges and killed millions...like the Chinese strike would indirectly. After that day, remembered as a joint 'day of morning' by both nations(or any decendant nations in the case of China, if applicable), China and America settled for a white peace. North Korea didn't last much longer, appearently being 'held up' by china. America didn't suffer any more nuclear strikes for the rest of the war, as the Three Gorges strike was taken as an unstated message by the still new Government to the world. Eventually, the war ended, and the survivors came home to rebuild. during the Late 2040s and early 2050s, a massive famine struck in the aftermath of China's strike. America started importing food where it could, and suplimented that with hydroponics farms in all corners of the country. To pay for all of this, the Council of Administrators authorized the rebuilding of the Rust Belt, using high end robotics to make products for domestic and foreign markets. This all meant that the United States was weaker than before 2000, but it was starting to recover from the early 21st Century and Third World War(or the 2nd Pacific War as some call the American-China 'Segment'). As Space Exploration came back into it's own, America used this to add more food production by using some of it's colonies to produce food. Overall, the late 21st Century were relatively peacefull for the United States, continuing it's long recovery from political 'deadlock' and War.
Culture/Society
Under the meritocratic government, American CItizens were given a system where they were divided into Citizenship Tiers based on what they did and any service to the government. The Tier-System is a source of income for citizens as well as benefits like Healthcare, Insurance, and even home ownership. While private companies can operate in the United States, and are still a massive part of it's industry, the new Citizenship system has made life interesting for business owners, the United States subsidizes the Citizen's Income as their Citizen Tier Income, and gets paid directly by the Business for directing the best qualified applicant to them. Americans as a whole are quite happy with this system, with people that would have been previously homeless getting an apartment and other things he/she needs to live better. Americans are somewhat interventionalist, the lessons of the early 21st Century sticking out in there mind. Despite their military-derived political nature, the United States is actually universally friendly to most nations on earth, with the exception of Canada. The Betrayal of Canada In the 2020s, plus them not doing something more decisive in WW3(in light of the Mid-West Bombings), has made the hatred of Canada a cultural thing in the United States. Said Hate has died down a lot, from the frequent flag burnings in the 2020s and the resurgence of them in the late 2040s.
Economy/Industry
America's economy is in a good place, not as rich as it had been(relatively speaking, Inflation is still a thing), but more stable than the early 21st Century. America's main export good is actually manufactured items, from the 'Robo-Belt' in the mid united states, with electricity from massive solar farms across the Inner Solar System being a close second. America also sells a hefty supply of oil to lower tech countries that still use it. America's primary imports are rare materials not found in the colonial mining operations and food. America being as friendly as it is, it has no shortage of trade partners.
Military
The American Military is something very different from what it was even 50 years ago, with the Marines and former Airforce being expanded with the growing settlement of the solar system. The American Military maintains a high level of training, with citizenship tiers associated with the level of training and jobs given to those citizens who get the positions. There are also high numbers of drones in the varios branches of the military. The Best of all special operations branches from all over the Military go into American Delta Force.

American Army. (all equipped with Railguns)
The American Army is one of the last semi-traditional forces still in the United States Military, though it has adjusted to the new times it is in. The US Army is highly mechanized, with SPAGs and SPAAGs supporting and defending the infantry. There are also a large number of Light/Medium/Heavy tanks that serve many perpouses, and work off eachother and the other mechanized vehicles. The Army also uses a high number of Power Armor suits for it's
'Shock Trooper Corps', with Drones supporting them. The Army has a number of UAVs and UGVs acting as Infantry Support and Light Attack. The American Army retains the Special Operations Arms of The Army Rangers(using mobility focused Power Armor) and Green Berets.
United States Aerospace Command(commands fighters both on ground/colonies and on the Astro-Navy)
The United States Aerospace Command is what became of the Airforce after space started to get settled, and fighters/bombers/gunships that can operate in space and atmo. The Aerospace Command operates a large number of Fighters: Interceptors, Aerospace Superiorirty, Fighter/Bomber, Stealth, and other such things. The USAC also controls bombers of all kinds, including anything from Light Attack Bombers to strategic bombers that carry nukes. A major part of the ACs responsibility is the Gunship/Transports that have replaced the Helicopters and Ospreys, many sizes depending on the jobs and who they transport.
United States Marine Forces
The Marine Forces have become a lot beefier as humanity has moved to space, with a large amount of them using Light Power Armor focused a mix of Mobility and protection, and a higher level of training in coparason to the rest of the US Military. The Marine Forces are heavier in the mechanization than the Army, using fast and multi-terrain APCs to transport on land. The Marines use faster Mortar Carriers than the Army's SPAGs, retaining the APCs multi-terrain ability. . The Marines also have faster and easier to deploy Tanks than the Army, though they retain stopping power he Marines do retain the Army's Anti-Air Defenses. There are a special unit of the Marines dedicated to defending Ships and Astro-Ships, and that also has training as an occupation force, the
Peacekeeper Corps. The Marine Forces also have a special operations branch that include; N7 Marines and Force Recon Scout-Snipers.
