Here's a plan that while not psionically fertile, does turn humanity into pretty much a nightmare to fight: They're unpredictable from Weird, they're paranoid, they've got a huge attachment to fufilling their duties, they're slippery, militant, and always finding ways to get things done on the cheap (from frugal)... and they're ugly, vindictive guys. [There's 1 point left over for torr's ???, which I'd like to get, otherwise I'd put ruthless there.]

Leaning something like this
I really like this loadout... unfortunately Psionically fertile was supposed to rate a 3 not 1.

Thoughts on this?

That's really pretty good; if I were dead-set on common psionics I'd vote for it.

Vindictive (-1)
Humans, whether organic or synth, just cannot let go. When they feel slighted, they would pursue whoever they deem guilty to the literal edge of the universe if they could so they can deliver their righteous punishment.

So...I guess it's time to make a book of grudges then.

Oh, since it seems like everyone else is suggesting traits, here is mine which I also used in Kaelor's quest:

Adaptive (1)
When it comes to adapting to new situations, whether it be their environment or a new technology, humans have always been quick on the uptake. It was just this adaptability that allowed humans to survive the many hostile biomes of their homeworld and make it into the stars. No matter what situation you put a human in, their ability to adjust will no doubt allow them to come out on top. So whether it be in the field of warfare or the sciences, humanity will always be ready to meet change.

Does this work @torrmercury ?

Anywho, here is my plan.

Should we even bother with being psionically fertile? The other traits will make us more capable.

@torrmercury I have an Aspect suggestion that seems like it would fit especially well with the New Eden scenario:

Problem Solvers

Humans will believe a lot of things, but one idea they never, ever take on faith, common wisdom, or even common sense is "it can't be done". Vital equipment failing? Jury-rig the crap out of it; you can buy time to buy more time. Crash landed? Cannibalize everything non-vital; you can build a thriving little farm with a little ingenuity. "Can't be done" is a challenge to be defeated-- and humans frequently win.

Edit as needed, of course.

Wat? Where did the Asari come into picture?
asari allow weak psi ability to influence other races, In Mass Effect 2 you travel to an Asari colony called Illium. On this planet there is a bar which you can go into to find missions and so on. In this scene you see a group of friends (A Salarian, a Human and a Turian) all enjoying the dance of an Asari. They are throwing a Bachelor party for the Salarian.
The characters begin to question whether the Asari may be manipulating them at a telepathic level to keep them enticed. The Salarian even says "My people don't have sex drives the way you humans do".

Even so, the Salarian begins to show sexual attraction to the Asari after a few moments of watching her dance. How can a species which lacks a sex drive experience sexual attraction unless there was some underlying manipulation of their minds occurring? This scene also touches upon the most important piece of evidence. They all claim the Asari resemble their own species. The Salarian claims the Asari looks like him, the human claims the same, as does the Turian. This to me is irrefutable evidence that the Asari are actually manipulating other races to mate with them, which way they remove best and brightest from other races and assimilate their achievements. Any children born will be Asari, due to being short lived all other races die before their child reach maturity, thus they are influenced by their mother's propaganda. If humans got not psi-power that will mean they are incompatible with meld thus free from Asari mating habit.

-[] Duty's Burden

I regret nothing.

Edit: I made it better, and regret even less.

Edit 2: Apparently I had an unused point because with Military Republic we gain Militaristic automatically, so I added Duty's Burden to maximize intersteller dominatrix numbers.

This is not a Mass Effect -quest.

Mmmm, it was meant to be similar but focused more on the practical than Curious... should I try to differentiate it a bit more?
I'd thought so, but apparently not. I probably would have called it something like "Driven." What distinguished it from curious was the self-faith that allowed for steadfast pursual of a goal, rather than the intellectual endeavor itself.

I really hope we don't end up as a sterotypical violent unegalitarian "republic." It's too cliched.

Ha, I was just about to post my own Plan for vetting but you've got everything I wanted except Duty's Burden! I might just run with yours so there's less competition.

Why are you talking about mass effect?

I could change Problem-Solvers to Duty's Burden. Or, I could add Vindicative to make room...

Oh, I want the whole Curious-Adaptive-Problem Solvers spectrum, see below:

[ ] Plan Idealistic Determinators:

-[X] Direct Democracy

-[X] Curious (1)
-[X] Duty's Burden (1)
-[X] Adaptive (1)
-[X] Problem Solvers (1)

[ ] Weird (1)

Aiming for both Idealistic and Fun, basically. It was just Cultured that wasn't on my radar and I'm none too keen on Vindictive-- you don't have to change anything on my account.
