As the ten militia members descent the ladder, they turn on their gun-mounted flashlights.
"There was some tampering with the lock uptop, so we may have an unknown variable on-site." Their leader, Commander Rosen said. "No one goes anywhere without someone watching their six. Rosser Squad, sweep and clear the east side. Combine, take the west. You see anyone, you are cleared to use deadly force. Understand"
A chorus of "Yes Commander" and "Yes Sir"s rung out. Rosen nodded. "Alright, let's get this over with"

"Looks like the guy with the huge gun is headed your way" Jasmine says through your earpiece. She has a map of the bunker on her desk, based on the bunker that you first confronted Lussiac, and the one you found earlier today. There are coins, dice, and a couple of paperclips are strewn across the map to represent the armed goons that are patrolling through the bunker. "There's a room with two doors up ahead. Get in, and you can sneak out the other side."
Just like that, you hear several sets of footsteps pass you by as, one noticeably heavier than the others. Two doors down, you find a steel door with a rectangular window above the door. Opening the door, you find what looks like a your old chemistry class with everything not bolted to the ground gone as you sneak to the other door. As you sneak, Stampede is gripping her laser, her finger occasionally wandering to the trigger. But a look from you and she lifts her finger from the trigger. You head out the door and find yourself in another hallway.
"Why the fuck are we sneaking around? You're a tank on legs!" Stampede says.
"Because 1. You aren't. And 2. Neither am I" You say. You've managed to take some punishment, but you've also been on the wrong end of an LMG before. You'd rather not get into a fight that you can't win. Lussiac? She's a normal person. One good punch and she's out, and your barrier can protect you from any chemical weapons.
But this isn't like an action movie where the goons are just there to make the movie loud and pretend that the Hero was in danger. As you reach for the door on the other side of the room, Jasmine screams in your ear. "Stop! A guy just came into frame, he's 5 feet from that door.. Get behind something."
You scramble behind a large table where multiple people could perform science experience, complete with gas wells that bunson burners could be attached to. Stampede hides behind a desk somewhere behind you. By now, you hear two sets of footsteps headed your way until they suddenly stop outside the door.
The door opens and reveals two people, one carrying a large automatic shotgun, the other carrying an SMG. They turn on the lights and start looking around the room. You stay behind the workstation you're hiding behind as the two goons look around the room.
"Looks like no-one's here." A man carrying the SMG says.
"But if there is something here and we miss it, Rosen will have our asses. Let's just sweep and clear, Guevara." The man wielding the shotgun says.
You un-summon your heavy metal boots, leaving you in your socks and hoping you don't make too much noise as the two goons start searching the room. You don't dare to look up to see where they are, but you hear their footsteps.
"God, after we clear this place, I hope the plumbing still works here." The shotgun toting man says. "I think those breakfast tacos are putting up a fight" He's headed straight for your workstation. You ball your fist, ready to knock him out if you need to.
"What- did you get them at the Reynosa Taco again Cheever? You know that place isn't up to code." Guevara says. You take a chance and peak out on the side the man isn't coming from. He's walking to the other side of the room, and facing away from you.
"Hey, they taste good" Cheever says. "Well, until the third one. That one tasted a little... fuzzy." You get to the perpendicular side of the desk just as Cheever passes by where you were. You manage to scramble behind another workstation by the time the other goon turns around.
"Fuzzy? Are you serious? Did you really eat a taco that was 'fuzzy'?" Guevara asks in disbelief.
"The hallway out that door is clear. You'll be safe if you get there now" Jasmine says. She glances at the progress bar for the download. A little over a third of the way complete.
As soon as Guevara walks past, you scramble out the open door, taking a second to look back to see if Stampede is alright. You can see the two goons sweeping the room, but you can't see Stampede anywhere.
"Kells, are there any cameras in there? Can you see Stampede"
"There's one, but I don't see her" Jasmine says.
You look at the room, the two goons are making their way through the room, and that's when you see Stampede peek from behind the desk further back in the room. But the desk that she's behind is the last row in the room, with nowhere else to go without being seen. And from the look on her face, Stampede realizes it too. She starts to grip her laser rifle, when you have an idea. You channel a small ball of lightning inside of the light right above Guevara, and the light explodes right above the man, sending broken glass falling down on him. As soon as the light explodes, Stampede moves as fast as she can while still crouched towards the door.
"God, Damn!" Guevara shouts, brushing broken glass out of her hair.
"You alright, Guevara?" Cheever asks. "That looked bad"
"Son of a... stupid fucking lightbulbs." She mutters as Stampede sprints out the door. But as soon as she is on the other side of the door, she turns back and looks at one of the goons. She picks up her laser rifle and aims it at one of them.
"Bang" She whispers as she mimes recoil as she pretends to shoot the goon. You're pretty sure that lasers don't recoil, but you grab Stampede's arm and pull her out of the doorway.

Operative took position near the treeline.
He tossed the flashbangs at the building. They crash through the windows and two bright flashed erupt from the building. Taking aim, he fired three bursts from his rifle. The building is dark, he can't see who, if anyone he hit, but a burst of automatic fire shreds through a tree just three feet from him. He starts to move, and fires again.
The squad leader winced as a second member of her squad was cut down by the shooter. Her remaining squadmates, who was taking cover behind a counter, opened fire out of the window where the shooter might have been. She fired as well, but neither hit their target.
"Rosen, two of our guys are down and we don't have a bead on the shooter!" She yelled before firing another burst of gunfire through the now-shattered window.
"Get down in the bunker, and wait for me. Once we finish sweeping the bunker, I'll go up and draw their fire, and Combine Squad will mop up whoever is up there. In the meantime, stay by the ladder. If anyone that isn't us comes down, make 'em regret it."
The Squad leader looked up at the remaining members of her squad. "You heard the man, into the bunker."
She had been hiding behind a concrete wall close to the bunker so she was close by. But when the two remaining squamates popped up to get to the bunker, another burst of gunfire came from outside, cutting down a third member of her squad before the remaining two managed to get inside of the bunker.

While there was an exchange of gunfire near the abandoned flower shop. Despite it's close proximity to other buildings, the light traffic of the roads, plus the heavy presence trees absorbing the sound helped to conceal the gunfight happening.
But as a sedan carrying three people "AAHHHHHHHHHH GOD DAMMIT" Screamed a man in a mask sitting in the passenger's seat. It was a white mask inlaid with kevlar with a single blue stripe down the left side, covering the left eyehole. His suit was covered in blood from a gunshot wound.
"Blue, shut the fuck up!" Yelled the man in the driver's seat. He was wearing a similar mask, though his had a red demon face painted on the mask.
"Fuck off, Red! You ain't the one bleeding out over here!" Blue shouted.
The sedan drove by the abandoned flower shop, paying no mind to the gunfight happening nearby.

"*Sigh* Looks like Operative got three of 'em, but two more are at the bunker entrance. It looks like they aren't leaving." Jasmine said.
"Well, it can't be that easy, I guess." You say. By now, you're pretty sure that you're about halfway through the bunker. You just need to go up one more floor, and it's a straight shot to the ladder. And you're pretty sure you can take on two armed goons. "Stampede, two goons are near the entrance. I'll deal with them when we get there."
"You mean we'll deal with them. I didn't bring my laser rifle out to not use it" She says.
"Guys, bad news. It looks like their boss is on the way back and he has two more guys with him" Jasmine says. "If you don't want to get caught, you need to move now."
