You speed up and draw your sword. You hope to God this doesn't backfire, but you've come up with something of a plan. You can't get the driver to slow down on his own, so you're doing to take out his tires. If you start from the back, then hopefully, he'll stop because the rims are making a god-awful grinding sound.

You just hope the trailer doesn't swing too wildly. If it does, then there's a good chance it'll flatten you.

By now, the rain is starting to pour down, and you approach the nearest tires. Like most semi's the wheels on the cab are in pairs so if there's one blowout, then it can still keep going, and there are 6 wheels on either side on the back. With a single swing, you shred a pair of tires. The trailer starts to wobble, but it doesn't slow down. In fact, the semi starts to speed up even more. You speed up as well, catching up to the speeding semi.

Before you can strike the second set of tires, the truck suddenly swerves to your lane, with the trailer swinging towards you. "SHIIIIT!" You yell as you swerve to the left. The trailer barely misses you and you barely miss crashing into a passing sedan. The sedan honks at you before it speeds off, but you ignore it, and pull back and strike again, shredding another two tires. The truck swerves again, this time, to the right trying to get away from you.

As you get ready to slash the final set of tires, Dr. Lussiac, still hanging from the side of the trailer, uses her other arm to toss a grenade high into the air, right into your path. Quickly, you slash the third set of tires and try to get out of the way.

When you shred the last pair of tires, two things happen. The first, is that the cab drops down to the left as there are no longer any tires to support it. The second is that the sudden drop causes Lussiac to lose her grip on the trailer. The villainies falls slamming on the concrete on the outer lane, her kneecap shattering when it hits the ground and tumbles, causing a few loose grenades to fly from her belt and pockets, scattering on the ground.
You hear the scream when Lussiac falls from the truck, but you're busy trying to get out of the grenade's blast radius, but to no avail. When the grenade hits the ground, it releases a thick clear fluid, almost indistinguishable from the wet road. But as your tires run over the liquid, the rubber tires start to melt.

"Oh... no no no no no..." You say under your breath as the tires literally disintegrate beneath you. You skid, and barely make It to the service road before your tires completely fall apart. When you're there, you see Lussiac. She's breathing heavily and trying to get back on her feet.

"Dammit dammit dammit..." Lussiac says as she tries to push herself up on her remaining good leg. But she collapses, and barely catches herself with her good arm. "It shouldn't have ended like this." She mutters, staring at the ground. But then, she takes a breath, and looks back up at you, and you see that one of the lenses of her gas mask is shattered, revealing one eye glaring at you. She looks pained, but not afraid.

"So, it's come to this... fine. No matter what happens, I refuse to beg for mercy. Do what you must"

We uhh, just got our bike trashed, we can kiss vanishing goodbye. But maybe the cops won't arrest us on sight, given our record of good behavior.

[X] Plant the tip of your sword into the ground and slightly lean on it, staring at the woman through our visor. Presence is everything, after all.
-[X] "Out of curiosity, can I ask why you just murdered a dozen people? You don't exactly come across as an unhinged psychopath." You'd be surprised what people spill if they think it's their last words. At the very least, we'll almost certainly get some sort of clue.

[X] Ideally this ends with her in police custody alive, so if Lussiac looks like she's about to die from blood loss or shock, stabilize her with a heal. Still, she's proved extremely determined, resourceful, and her little concoctions far too deadly. If she makes a move - ice her without hesitation. Fireball at range, sword if we're on top of her.

I'm shaky on our healing ability - because I'm not sure we have enough control to only stabilize and not fully heal. Also internal bleeding and all that - were not medically trained. We might make things worse.

Is there anything around that we can use to pin her to the ground with? Separate from the healing question of whether it's a good idea or not.

And we might want to get rid of chemical weaponry or at least the gas mask before healing. Turn it into a ludicrous physical fight.

And we can still disappear
We can literally put our bike on our shoulder and just walk off into the wilderness/countryside/outskirts to disappear before the cops come I think.

That is a concern. You don't know the full extent of her injuries, and your spell might not be able to cover any possible internal injuries.

No. There's a hubcap and the remains of a few shredded tires lying around, though those are on the highway and some distance back.

And we might want to get rid of chemical weaponry or at least the gas mask before healing. Turn it into a ludicrous physical fight.
There's a reason I've tried to avoid having this be a punch out.

On one hand, you[re in the middle of a populated neighborhood in the middle of the city. You aren't close enough to the outskirts to disappear. Though you just took down the woman who took out the police chief. The police aren't going to be too concerned with bringing you in.

Looks like we have an option with a commanding lead. I'm keeping the votes open for another 12 hours so if anyone else wants to vote or change their vote, feel free.

Well, I think we can call the vote early since no one else is voting. I'm going to need someone to roll Mystic Arts to - 10 stabilize Lussiac, and Perception for... reasons.

ROLL!

edit: HRM.

THATS BAD!

edit:edit:
Uh, is there a way to get rid of the second healing roll? It was an accident, and it's kind of uglying the place up.

Edit:edit:edit:
Im scared.

So did we kill her or give her super powers?

Sorry, there isn't. Something similar happened to me a few years ago. The dice thing was just implemented and I accidentally rolled on the OP of a thread I made.

You'll find out.

"You'll face justice by the Law's hand" You say in your disguised voice. Lussiac looks and cocks her head at you. You can almost see her fighting the urge to roll her eyes.

"Please don't tell me you really think there's any justice in this city…" Lussiac says. "Justice is just a word people use to justify doing what they want to do to each other. I just want revenge. At least I'm honest about it."

"Revenge?" You ask. "What are you talking about?"

She looks down. Even more blood is pouring from her bullet wound and her broken legs. However, she seems strangely calm about it. At the very least, it should hurt, but she doesn't seem to acknowledge any pain. Instead, she gives a bitter chuckle. You see her hand start to reach for one of the grenades but it stops. "At this point, it doesn't even matter. Not like telling you would make a difference. I'm done for..."

"Oh no. You aren't getting off that easy" You reach out and try to stabilize Lussiac. To close her wounds so she doesn't bleed out. You don't like her. But she deserves her day in court. She deserves to go on trial for what she's done. But when you cast the spell to heal Lussiac, nothing happens. Her wounds don't heal. Blood continues to come out of her legs, and her shoulder wound.

"What the…" You say, looking at your gauntleted hand. This spell should work. You've used it yourself just yesterday. You cast it again. Nothing. Blood is still pouring out of Lussiac's gunshot wound. Lussiac looks up at you trying to cast a spell to save her life. The dying woman doesn't say anything. She just composes herself, resigned to her fate. "Looks like it really is my time…" This time a fully powered healing spell. You cast it, and it doesn't seem to do anything.

"Come on!" You say between gritted teeth as you charge up more power than you've ever used in a healing spell and cast it on Lussiac. Your hair is starting to stand up on end. You feel a pressure behind your eyes as you put more and more energy into the spell.

"Heh I guess I should've gone after Crowe first" Lussiac says weakly as she slumps to the ground, bleeding out from her injuries. "Probably could've taken a shot at Blankenship later..." She lets out a groan, then a rattle, then... nothing. She doesn't breath, she doesn't move. She's dead. You look down at the dead woman. You… honestly don't know how to feel. You don't feel bad for Lussiac. She was a monster. Someone had to stop her. And now, she isn't going to hurt anyone anymore.

You start to think back to the underground bunker near the river. The state of the man that she had experimented on, the fact that she would've done it to more people if you hadn't stopped her. You don't feel good about not keeping her alive... but you don't really feel to bad about it.

Before you can sort out your emotions, or start to figure out how exactly you're going to get home, a sedan pulls up to the lane. The woman you saw earlier, the one dressed in leather steps out of the car. She looks at the body, then up at you.

Then she nods.

"You should get out of here. I'll handle, well, that" She says, pointing to Lussiac's body.

"You're letting me go?" You ask

"This time" The woman says. "Go on, get out of here."

You aren't going to argue with her, so you lheft your bike over your shoulders and start the long walk home. As you leave on foot, using your speed to go faster, you see several patrol cars, and another SWAT van pass you by in the opposite direction. They don't try to stop you as you leave to find somewhere to get out of your armor and stash your bike. All the while, you feel…

[] glad that Lussiac is dead.
[] worried about your magic. Is your power fading?
[] tired. You need to get some lunch and sleep for the rest of the day.
[] concerned that the officer apparently doesn't care that you just killed someone and is just letting you go.
[] curious. Just what is Lussiac talking about. What was she getting revenge for? And who is Crowe? And how are they connected to Lussiac and... whatever happened here?
[] Angry. Where the fuck were the capes? Between Saber, Steel, and Jetstream, at least one of them should've been here.

screw it.

edit: Also an autopsy should show pretty conclusively we had nothing to do with killing her.
