Not really. The way it's explain by authors in the CN Q&A is that her spears are "not real" and are a "dream that takes shape outside of space-time". She simply brings it into reality whenever she actually wants it to hit something. It's actually superior to Sting that can be blocked by high-energy constructs. In order to interact/block Sirin's spears you need to interact with the "true reality" as Welt described it (aka having a source code to the universe itself and being able to mess with things on a higher level than any parahuman or Scion himself has demonstrated) something he could do as a Herrscher (that ignores physical laws) and perfected in the "Alien Key" manga.
I… don't fully buy that. Like, I think more that Welt is bullshitting here, because frankly, the base reality has been a relatively huge deal given that you could affect the constants of the universe, i.e the mold for physical laws, which do apply to Herrscher. It is fallacious to claim that just because Herrscher can ignore physical laws, which we see them do, they are innately unaffected. We see this by the fact that well…. they interact with the world. We see gravity and EM and friction all affect them against their will.
I am not saying that Welt couldn't access the true reality, but given that it is a trained skill, i.e something he has not an inherent aptitude for and for lack of better terms, it is not in his domain, and he blocked Sirin's first lance shot at him (With sirin herself being an inexperienced herrscher, so unlikely to access the true reality) … Yeah, feels like an extreme unlikely claim. Like, I could buy it when we talk about a fully ascended Sirin, but base Sirin ? Far too casual to be something like that.
Plus, the descriptions basically fit imaginary space, which we know can be interacted with.
Meh, that being said, Scion here is an alien so…. the whole base reality is actually something that can be put into consideration for them.
As much as I love the Mangas, every time I read through them, I feel the need to consider it an AU because frankly, more than a few things do not line up.That is mostly a personal pew though.
