I have little compassion for Kevin because I personally hate pseudo stoicism with a passion. Purely on paper, Kevin deserves compassion, don´t get me wrong. But as presented in the Honkai Media I have consumed, I didn´t found him nearly compelling enough to care, especially because a lot of it started in Elysium story arc, which I hate with a passion. I have no compassion for Vill-V, Elysia, Kosma, Sakura either, simply because the execution didn´t convince me.

To note. You are outright wrong about Otto doing bullshit for centuries. Kevin was around in the 1400s, when Schicksal was picking up. We are not shown that he put any actual effort into convincing people into helping him. That being said, I disagree with the notion that they are competitors. They are objectively not. They are two organizations dedicated to the same end goal of removing the influence of Honkai. Literally, the only reason they are in conflict is that Kevin has the charisma of an Iceblock in actually making a case for why his way is the way to go. This would be valid even by the other Flamechasers, to be blunt, if they are not also painfully hypocritical, because it would be the choice of CE.

Hopefully with something sharp and pointy shoved up Kevin's behind, but that's my personal bias. We can safely assume that it turned out relatively fine canon wise since APHO is a thing (followed by StarRail).

But how did it end in THIS universe? Ely's boot to his head?

I think to get her attitude checked, it might have to be someone that could thrash her around a bit. Taytay is an angsty teenager who has a lot of power at her grasps and 2 voices in her head, one of whom is very happy to see Humanity burn. I feel like Kiana wouldn't do it for some reason. So maybe we need Lisa/Sarah to push Tay around a bit or you'll have to bring in another Herrscher to kick her around.

Speaking of burning, there still aren't enough fire for the city to be on fire...

It is more that she can not. The extend of punishment she can give Taylor is what happened in this chapter. Sure, she can slowly wear her down mentally, but that is quite literal mental torture which is... not an easy step to take.

Speaking of Tay not catching a break, i'm kinda worried that whenever the PRT finds out about Bella they're going to show off their PRT-style competence and immediately assume she's either mastered or a sentient projection and go full paranoid.
Speaking of Bella though where exactly did she go iirc she was still around at the end of the fight and you'd think the PRT squad would notice someone giving them the murderdeathkill glare for mildly inconveniencing Taylor with their excellent people skills.

Bella is the perfect servant. Unseen, unheard, yet always there. Or, to be clear, she kinda left because Kiana is not an actual idiot and recognised that explaining Bella to the PRT right now would not go well with Angsty Taylor. So she kinda made a shu shu motion.

I don't think any of the CE Herrschers would resort to tortures simply because they kind of know what that meant, some more than other.

I will still totally encourage Kiana to conjure a spray bottle and spray down Taytay in the event she turned into a bit of a mad dog though.

    I have thought long and hard about my question(s), and I feel compelled to ask:

    Can Taylor manifest and/or control Honkai Beasts? And does she have the capability maybe technically create Valkyries? And speaking of which, how DOES one become a Herrscher, and is it possible for someone from Earth Bet to become one? If so, what aspect would they manifest? Because I don't know if it's possible for there to be two Herrschers of the same type, especially once you add in the whole "maybe-alternate-reality-maybe-time-travel" thing that's going on here.
