Heroic Desires (My Hero Academia Quest)

It isn't though, she has 2 Body, which means she's as fit as a regular person whereas Daiki has 1 Body which means that he's actively weaker than the majority of people and while her Quirk allows her to totally ignore the need to use it whereas Daiki's version of it is far less powerful
We also have a Quirk that increases our BODY score and she has a Body of 2 as a PRO HERO. WE do not need to increase our BODY to get into UA. We can train our BODY at UA. WHere as the Stealth Trait is something unique and may not come up again in a very long time.

I agree and thus vote

[X] I would like to know the secrets of stealth. (BODY roll. Low DC. Will give a trait on a success.)

[X] About that workout regime… (BODY roll. Low DC. Will give +1 permanent BODY on a success.)

She is definitely not a good example. She cheats with her quirk. Her Mind counts as her Body when using it.

Shadows and Blood
"Found you!" Was the only warning you received before hearing a whack and feeling like your calf was on fire. You fell to the ground groaning and using all your willpower to not curse.

"How?!" You ask from the ground as Syouin smiled down at you. "I didn't even hear you!" You slowly start to stand up, the pain fading quickly. You were starting to get used to this.

The stealth training was much more hard than you expected. At first, Syouin wasn't so on board with this but after you made your decision… She started to have fun. They explained the basics of stealth. How to move, how to NOT move, what to do and when… They made sure you understood all of that before the training began.

They took you to something they called the «Stealth training room». You knew it would be something crazy and it still managed to surprise you. It was a room the size of a school gym whit what only could be described as a maze of black walls. The entrance was slightly elevated so you could see everything before training started. It wasn't only walls. There were curtains, secret passages, black boxes you could use for hiding… The fact that everything was the same color made walking around extremely confusing.

They had a game planed. The game they used to learn the basics of stealth. It was like hide and seek but with more pain. Each one of you got a wooden sword. The objective was to walk around the maze, find the others without being found and then hitting them with the sword. They told you that you had to hit each of them at least twice to «win» while they were just going to hit you until you give up.

You somehow managed to hit each of them once.

Syouin helped you stand up before walking away. The rule was that you had to wait ten seconds after being hit for the next hit to count. You quickly used that time to disappear too.

⁂

You did it. After a while, you started to focus more on what they explained to you about stealth. You were already doing it… more or less, but the pressure of being found out by them made you be much more sloppy in your movement. You managed to calm down and start to walk more slowly, listen more to your surroundings and use cover in better ways.

The first one to fall was Akane who got distracted by something. It seems like the twins were also using this exercise to train themselves and had a little fight every time they found each other. She was recovering her breath after one of their bouts when you heard her breathing. She was around the corner so you stopped moving and waited until her breath was a bit further away. She turned around and it was time to strike.

She wasn't happy about being the first one to lose and left the maze grumbling to herself.

Syuouin was much harder to find. Now that Akane wasn't around to distract her, you were her only prey. She was good, better than even her sister. Her movements were faster and quieter, her senses sharper and she didn't toy with you as much. As soon as she found you, you would feel the pain before she retreated back into the shadow.

The only thing you could do was outsmart her.

It wasn't easy but you managed to make a mental map of one of the maze's sections. One with a hallway that led into a dead end with a door. The door was hidden in the wall so you couldn't see it easily. You used that part of the maze to bait her into looking for you after making some «accidental» noise and hid behind the door.

You, again, stood really quietly until you heard her turn around after realizing she followed the sound to a dead end. You quietly opened the door and caught her by surprise.

She called you a cheater and it felt good when she did. Shirohime always said the same when you won by being just smarter than her.

After leaving the maze, you three decided to take a break and eat some sweets while talking about your training and future as heroes.

It was a great afternoon.

After a whole week of training with Eijiro, Shirohime and the twins… You finally can rest.

At least that's how your work at the café feels like. A bit of work and long periods of just hanging out with your boss, drinking coffee and learning how to brew it like a pro.

It helps you take the edge off. Each day that passes you are closer and closer to UA. You can't help but feel nervous. Especially since you still don't feel strong enough.

You leave the café that Saturday's afternoon with a bit more money and a clearer head. Now it's time to go home, rest and get ready for Monday.

[+1 Funds]

⁂

She was feeling nervous. She always was when meeting new people. She had to make a great first impression. That's the true secret to making new friends… Even if she wasn't supposed to meet him.

They told her to just observe, to learn, to prepare… But she wanted more. she always wanted more but this time it was for a good reason. That boy was working at the café… When they told her about his schedule she was ready to jump at the opportunity of following him around. It was perfect. Too perfect.

She accepted the job and, for a whole week, stayed hidden in the shadows.

He had friends. Tons of friends. A really pretty girl and a strong boy trained with him. He was weak, delicate, like a prince from a fairy tale.

He also spent time with two girls. Twins. They had sharp eyes and saw her once… But she wasn't herself so it was okay. She just had to be much more careful next time.

She followed him home more than once. His quiet moments reading and writing on a notebook, his cute sleeping face at night… Sometimes there was nothing new to learn from him but she still kept watching, observing as much as possible.

He had two cute sisters. Both small, but one older. She was a pro hero, so fooling her felt so good… Their sleeping faces weren't as cute as his. They were so lucky to have a blood brother like him…

Was she falling in love? He looked like a prince, like one of the characters of the mangas she used to read. Was she the heroine of her own story where she was destined to fall in love with the pretty boy of her dreams?

Everything pointed at that. It was such a coincidence… She received the job of following him around, he was working at the café she spent most of her childhood in…

But no, she wasn't in love. Not yet. This wasn't one of her romantic stories and she wasn't going to just fall in love with the prettiest boy around…

She kept following him all week until the wait was too much. She had to meet him. A chance encounter. Brief, unexpected and passionate. That's how her stories started, with the boy meeting the girl… And then what? Her mind was too unfocused to remember exactly what happens next. How does the heroine go from meeting the boy to the first kiss?

She would have to improvise. The first step would be to fall in love with him because, right now, she felt nothing but that background desire to touch that pale, frail skin of his… She was nervous. She had to make a good first impression.

The alley was slightly dark. The rays of the sun blocked by the tall buildings all around her. This was the perfect spot for their encounter. Boy meets girl in a dark alley sounded a bit weird but it worked well enough for her.

He approached after leaving work. His face was tired but smiling. Always so optimist… His skin pale but starting to darken after spending so much time training under the sun. It wasn't dark enough to hide the blue veins just under his thin skin. So close to the surface… So alive… She couldn't wait anymore.

From the shadows, she sent him a love letter in the form of a small knife soaring through the air with deadly precision, aiming at his neck. She didn't care about the rules, about the mission, about anything. Right now it was just the two of them in a dark alley.

She knew that her prince's blood wouldn't be really blue, but it was still disappointing to see the brief splash of red. A disappointment that quickly faded as she took another knife from her pouch.

It was time to see his delicate skin open a bit more, to feel his warmth on her skin, to taint her clothes red with their love.

It was like the chance encounter she always dreamed of.

⁂

It took you by surprise.

A knife flew straight at you from the shadows of the alley. It was unexpected but your training with the twins was what saved your life. You got used to unexpected attacks and managed to move your head at the last second, turning a knife piercing your throat into just a cut on your cheek. It started to bleed, but it wasn't painful enough to distract you from the real problem.

A girl stepped out from the shadows. A huge smile on her face and a knife in her hand. She was your age, maybe a year younger. Her hair was stylized in two messy buns and her eyes felt… Wrong. Everything felt wrong. Her smile a bit too wide, her teeth a bit too sharp, her blush was out of place in the situation.

You would feel calmer if this were just a mugging. You walked these alleys after work every week and you expected it someday. You thought about what would you do in that situation more than once. Giving up your hard-earned money to avoid trouble? Fighting back and arresting the criminal without actually being a hero yet?

This wasn't part of your plans.

"Hi Daiki~!" She said, surprising you. She knows your name. This isn't just a random mugging. "I've been waiting to talk to you for a while…" She took a couple of steps in your direction. Measured, slow. She was ready to fight at any moment.

"W-what do you want?!" You asked, your voice wavering for a second, a bit louder than you wanted. You realized that the girl in front of you terrified you. This wasn't just a normal attack from a villain, you had no idea who she was or what she wanted.

"Me? I just want to fall in love with a prince like in my favorite stories…" She said before blushing a bit more and looking away, her hands to her cheeks while still holding the knife. "Oh, what I'm saying…? Let's forget about that and just be friends for now…" A step closer. Your survival instincts screamed at you to do something.

You activated Shirohime's quirk giving the skin in your arms a red, scaley look, sharp claws growing from your fingertips and your eyes turning more reptile-like. You felt your teeth grow sharper and the wound on your cheek close as some scales grew around your eyes and face. Not covering everything but just enough to offer a bit of protection. She looked surprised for a second before smiling again.

"So that's how it looks… Your love for Shirohime…" She murmured to herself sending a shiver down your spine. How? How does she know all of that? She gave a small sad look at your cheek before smiling again, even wider than before. "We both show our love for others with our quirks… I hope we can show each other our love someday…" She giggled to herself. You stood there letting her talk, unable to decide if you should fight or run. Shirohime's power always made you a bit more reckless, but she looked like a normal crazy girl… Maybe you could stop her.

"But for now…" She said changing her tone slightly, her movements now more precise, getting ready. This change reminded you of Syouin when she was getting ready to fight. "Let's just be friends. Let's know each other better. Let me see all of you so I can fall in love properly…" And with that, she launched her attack, running straight at you with a grin on her face.

Daiki's Energy Points: 8/10

[] Plan on what to do.

Sorry for the long wait. I've been having a bad week and had no inspiration to write anything.

Moratorium of 1h before voting for plans. You can post to talk about the update and strategies. When you can vote I don't want you to edit a previous post to add a vote, make a new post for the vote.
Remember to check the mechanics if you don't remember how it works. This is a confrontation but you decide the objective. You can try to fight, talk her down or escape.
You can use any stat for any action as long as it makes sense. It's going to be hard to fight using SOUL when you are alone. A vote might use more than one stat and roll if it's complicated like distracting her with SOUL and the attacking with BODY. I will decide what stats and rolls are used in the end.

Remember that Daiki can only have one power activated at the same time. If a power has no mechanical benefit listed it's because it only modifies the DC.

Who in the world sent Toga at us? No seriously, who? Not All For One, Toga doesn't join the League of Villains until after Stain, so who!?

Ah yes, the stalker girl. Wait, what?
He had friends. Tons of friends.
Persona protagon skills big kek.
She received the job of following him around, he was working at the café she spent most of her childhood in…
I feel like earlier, when you mentioned how perfect his job at the cafe was, it was a little too ambiguous. I understand not wanting to give too much away all at once, but I had thought that you were referring to his schedule or something. Maybe allude a little more to this earlier?

Clearly you intended for the line to link to this, but because we didn't know this information earlier it just sounds like a weird loose hook that only gets more information slapped on now.

Overall pretty good update. The training montage was rather nice, and I did like how you described what Daiki was doing in detail.

I also just realized that Toga's quirk is kinda similar to Daiki's.
Cause, you know, she managed to tap into Uraraka's quirk while disguised as her by her sheer "love" for her, which is like an inverse version of Daiki's. He gets power by forming real bonds with the quirk holder, she gets power by feeling love for other quirk holders. Almost like a... Reverse Arcana.

Pretty sure that that wasn't intentional, but it's cool either way.

Also,
could Toga copy Daiki's quirk? Cause she's definitely on her way to "loving" him that much, at least in my opinion. If she can, would that just give her the ability to tap into the quirks of those she has bonds with (as few as those probably are), or would she be able to tap into Daiki's store?

I had a feeling that job was too perfect. You can't get a job and expect it to be normal in an anime world! Especially one with superheroes and villains everywhere...

Well, it's not like Daiki knows that so I guess I can't blame him. Still, the job seemed really fishy but I thought nothing of it.

The chapter was nice overall. The training session was a pretty cute, productive, and refreshing scene from a different thread I was on before.

I think you guys are drawing false parallels. It does pretty much confirm our boss is Toga's grandfather, but that's it.

What were people saying about Harems? :V

Anyway if you're confused I'm almost certain Toga got the job from whoever this was:

We should try to talk her down maybe ask her name and if her name is similar to our boss ask her if she is related to him. But be prepare with Shirohime quirk for dodging and defending. Since she is extremely strong in BODY to be able to handle a pro. We should also use our sister quirk on a trash lit to surf on it to help dodge attack.

Orrrrr, we could do the smart thing, and run like hell and use our newly gained stealth abilities to hide, because laws exist.

This chick be crazy, but I think the priority is learning who she is and how she knows so much about us. Our BODY is weak, and Toga with her knives is one of the most skilled Badass Normals in the series. We are not physically a match for her, might as well play on her crazyness.

I don't think that leaving some stuff as unknowns that are revealed later is a bad thing.

Toga herself says that their quirks are similar, even if she is just talking about them showing how much they love people.

Maybe but that's her lvl2. You will see if it happens...

FB point for you too because I feel generous.

1 hour has passed. You can all start writing plans and votes.

I don't think that leaving some stuff as unknowns that are revealed later is a bad thing.
Not necessarily bad, but it just felt disjointed. Like they were the same thought but broken up into two just so you could reveal the info like this. Again, this is wholly my opinion though, so feel free to disregard.

Anyways, would the law be willing to let us use our quirk here? I'm thinking yes, cause it's self defense?

Ok, so, whilst talking to the crazy knife girl is an option, I think we can safely say that we aren't talking her down and out of a fight.

Anyways, would the law be willing to let us use our quirk here? I'm thinking yes, cause it's self defense?

Law is weird about that. You can claim self-defense if there is no other option. Legally you should be running away but that might be more risky than fighting.

IF you use your quirk and then the police intervenes somehow and they catch you using it... It's a bit of a gray area. To avoid vigilantism these situations are analized on a case by case basis. You were following your normal schedule and the criminal attacked on your way home so you were clearly not looking for villains, so you will probably be okay in the end with just a warning.

Also your sister is one of the big 10, so it's even more difficult for you to get into trouble. Nepotism is great.

Right now Daiki is not in the right place to think about laws, so don't worry too much about it.

My thoughts are that no matter what, we can't run away.

There's a couple situations that I'm going to explore.

1) We safely run away and get home.

Toga knows where we live, she's examined our entire family and is a very good actress. Also she can disguise herself as any one of them and get the jump on us. Admittedly we do have a Pro Hero sis, but the danger remains that she could jump us and get out fast enough.

2) We manage to escape the alley.

Well now we're in the middle of a street or at least out in the public. She can still throw knives at us, and now there's cars and people and stuff so that we can't really dodge. Also she can again disguise herself as any of the people here and gank us.

3) We try and fail to escape the alley.

Here we find ourselves in largely the same situation, but now Toga has the initiative and we've probably stumbled or something. At this point we'd be kinda forced to fight or talk, and no matter what it would've been easier had we done that to begin with.

On the second point, that'd require her to gank someone first in order to come to gank us under disguise. Also, being out in public increases for the chance to get either the police or a hero's attention. Especially when knives are flying around.

For the third point, she already HAS inititive.

Fair, but all she needs is blood. Not that hard with her needle things to just take some quickly and keep going. And the attention doesn't matter when she can just keep changing appearances while stealthed.

She does have initiative, but if we screw up we'll likely be in an even worse situation.

In any case, I have a couple of general plan outlines.

1) Use TK to pick her up and throw her as far away from us as possible. I'm talking above the roofs and out of sight.

2) Similar to 1, but use TK to pick us up and try to get out as fast as we can.

3) We could try and use Suggestion to get her to not love us for whatever reason and see if she loses interest in our blood. This would probably take place while we stall for time with conversation, and doesn't have any plans to get out while the Suggestion takes hold.

4) We could try and use our Magnetism bond to repel the knives or at least slow them while we run, but TK could also do this provided we stop the knives fast enough to avoid multitasking problems.

Just general quirk applications to keep in mind.

Magnetism is not going to work. We become a magnet and would attract the knives.

Also, this is why we should have hung out with our cousin guys!

Man, I just want to snark. For me, proving that the crazies can't throw you off is almost as important as actually winning. Plus, social combat is absolutely where we can properly rock Toga - the trick is in not getting stabbed or losing our cool.

Magnetism is not going to work. We become a magnet and would attract the knives.

Magnetism just says we can make weak magnetic fields. So while we could totally make ourselves pincushions, doing the opposite is perfectly within reach.

Provided we don't do the pincushion thing first on accident, and our fields are strong enough to actually work lol. Yeah, option 4 is number 4 for a reason.

I think you guys are drawing false parallels. It does pretty much confirm our boss is Toga's grandfather, but that's it.

...that was already basically confirmed OoC. The quirk he gave us and his last name made it pretty obvious.

***

So the real trick here is to get into a situation where we can use social fu on her without getting stabbed. We're set up to talk people down, so let's try that.

@Luxicato can our TK pick her up off the ground and hold her like that and allow us to keep talking to her? I'm pretty sure we've lifted heavier stuff, but I just want to be sure that we're allowed to mechanically.

If we do that we can start talking to her. Stuff like getting her name, why she wants to stab us, what her quirk is, and basically whatever our social butterfly can get her to talk about.

The real counter is to ask the crazy (but also pretty) girl on a date. We know a great coffee shop nearby, so how about she holds off on stabbing us until we get there.

Daiki has obviously picked up a yandere, and the second* best way to keep a yandere from hurting you is to turn into the skid and gain some control.

*The first is to not have a yandere in the first place, but we're well past that point now.

***

[X] Plan turn into the skid
-[X] Try to use TK to pick the yandere off the ground
-[X] Try and socially counter her by asking her on a date. It's crazy, but she's crazy, so it might just work.

I think giving the GM more room to work with on a social attack is better than trying to dictate this conversation, but I'm more than willing to get some help with refining this idea.
