Poor Akune is running into the same wall that Zenkichi ran into in canon, and our Zenkichi is avoiding like the plague.
Medaka can only see and care for the enemies and rivals in front of her, not the allies behind her. That and the fact that zenkichi and medaka are otp, they just beating around the bush.

Mostly correct, as long as you can keep up she cares, once you can't she lets you go. This is best seen shortly after the introduction of the Not Equal group. Zenkichi couldn't figure that the IIII was the original version of the IV Roman Numeral.
YMMV if this was because Zenkichi is her friend or what.
"Ku ku ku!" Nekomi makes another 'X' inside the notebook, next to the words [Tea Ceremony Club]. "And with this we're at six hints plus our own."
As befitting her title as [Queen of Foul Play] she didn't rush the Judo Club into battle with other clubs, not even after finding the answer to their own hint. Instead she did the next best thing.
She made an offer to the club next room: their hint's solution in exchange for the Judo Club hint's solution. Completely fair for both parties.
Then she went and sold the hint's solution so obtained to another club in exchange for one of the solutions they possess. After that she repeated the process again and again, always targeting the peace-loving clubs that didn't join the small-scale riots. While it did give other clubs an advantage...the Judo Club's advantage rose dramatically faster.
Is it cheating? Of course not!
Is it cheap? Of course it is!
Is Nekomi proud of her own idea? Immensely!
"How are the negotiations with the Occult Research Club going?"
"Captain! Those creeps still ask for the blood of a virgin to use in a freaky ritual! And one of them keep staring at my boobs!"
"The most they will get are nails or a bit of hair! Tell them that!" She commands before smiling and waving her hand. "Ah, I'm not the captain. Former Captain, former."
"Nabeshima-sempai, there is something I don't understand." Jounan, the new Captain, raises a hand. "You're also part of the Devil's Council now, shouldn't you know already the location of the gold?"
"No way. Hitoyoshi-kun was tight-lipped about it. Plus, that level of cheating would leave me with a bad taste on the mouth. This is much funnier."
"Is the gold real?" Another member asks.
"As absurd as it sounds, it is." She nods. 'Thought, not as you expect it.' She thinks, still debating if keeping the secret to get a good laugh at everyone's face or reveal it now. Then again, she cannot be 100% all members will keep the secrets from other students so it's probably best to-

The sound of broken glass prompts Nekomi to raise her head by reflex. A group of people she knows well is falling down from the third floor, probably after breaking through a window. They are the three infamous members of the Swimming Club: Yakushima, Tanegashima and Kikaijima...who has her face planted into the crotch of Hitoyoshi?!
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Nekomi, and the rest of the Judo Club, gape as the two men of the Swimming Trio use ropes to slow down their descent, while Kikaijima is flailing around in a panic, probably due to the compromising position. It would have resulted in both her and Hitoyoshi being injured by the fall...until Hitoyoshi uses Kikaijima's body to push himself up and grab the rope while wrapping his legs around the waist of the still upside-down Kikaijima.
Then a white-haired kid leans out of the broken window. "RULE-BREAKING SCUM! YOU BELIEVE I WOULDN'T DARE? THINK AGAIN!"
He steps back, followed by the wall under the window exploding! The hooks fixing the ropes in place come undone, the four people hanging from them falling-
When Medaka bursts out of the ruined opening, riding a bicycle down the wall! The next sequence of events is almost too fast to follow, but what Nekomi can make out is:
-Hitoyoshi making a lasso with the rope and catching Tanegashima with it
-Medaka planting chains with weight at the end into specific points of the wall
-Hitoyoshi pulling Tanegashima towards him and catching him under his arm
-Medaka leaping from the bicycle towards Yakushima, the chains wrapped around her arms
-Hitoyoshi pulling up Kikaijima by the leg and catching her under his other arm before kicking off the wall to leap towards Yakushima
And that, somehow, ends with the five of them tied up together and hanging upside down, their heads mere centimeters from the ground.
"The things we do for the sake of this school..." Nekomi hears Hitoyoshi commenting with a resigned tone.
"A splendid rescue!" Medaka, on the other hand, is beaming.
There is complete silence among the Judo Club, followed by Nekomi turning around and addressing Jounan with an easy-going smile. "Lovely weather we have today."
"Aaah! Nabeshima-sempai is running away from reality!"
"Indeed. You can feel summer is on the doorsteps." Jounan replies with a thumb-up.
"The Captain too!"

"This is Asa Tanzaku....I am sorry for the recent interruption in the commentary. Something shocking happened: I was held hostage! By three members of the Swimming Club! I say 'I' and not 'we' since Shiranui-san seems to have disappeared-"
"I'm here! The No Non-sense Shiranui-chan!"

I was rescued when the Enforcers kicked down the door, but then my kidnappers jumped out of the window, something bizarre happened and now not only members of the Enforcers are guarding the still broken door, there is a hole in the wall! What kind of treasure hunt is this?!"
"Uh-uh. And where are those guys from the Swimming Club now?"
"Being chased by one half of the remaining Enforcers, while the other half is aiding the Library Committee in breaking the siege. Hitoyoshi and the Student Council are nowhere to be seen..."
"And I hope it stays that way." Nekomi grumbles while circling over a map of Hakoniwa the points revealed thus far. "There, there and...wait a second."
Narrowing her eyes and following a hunch she tries to drawn a certain form. To her amazement, the revealed positions fit perfectly.
"That guy...all the positions together, they draw a five-pointed star!"

First off, I think there's some weird karma going on. Every time Nekomi uses a cheap trick she sees something completely crazy. Let that be her punishment for fouling.
