"HANDS OFF MY STUFF!" Fighting the Adventurer Menace

Clearly we should take a page out of one of the easiest tricks from Evil Genius. You build a fake lair on the side where the adventurers spawn, which is full of nothing but traps, and have all your real rooms on the other side of the island.

Don't worry. Adventurers "spawn" from everywhere. And there's plenty enough for them to attack both your fake and real bases.

I believe it was the Guatama Buddha who described the core of Buddhist philosophy as "Adventurers can't swipe yo shit if you ain't got no shit to swipe!"

Damage Assessment
As you approach your home, you see that it is still standing. But that's about all you can say. The gate looks like it was hit with a battering ram. As you enter the gate, you see three large holes in your home, each larger than your head.

And then, you see a dead man lying face-up on your lawn.

He's wearing a robe that was completely black. His glassy eyes are staring up at nothing. It looks like he fell to your soldiers.

While his robe is damaged beyond repair, he has quite a bit on him. Gold, a knife, a spellbook. But his ring catches your eye. It looks like a simple gold band, but in the middle, a purple stripe up the middle. As you hold the ring in your hand, you sense... something from it. You're tempted to say it's magic, but this something else. It's like a void where magic can't exist. Like seeing where nothing exist while seeing everything around it. Just looking at it makes you uncomfortable.

That doesn't stop you from taking the ring. Maybe you could sell it at least.

As you go inside, you see two more holes in your wall, along with another corpse, this one of a woman. Her head is impaled by the scythe trap.

Like the man outside, she has a lot on her, honestly making you wonder why she chose to rob you. Maybe it was for kicks. Maybe they thought she actually had something worth stealing.

But that doesn't mean much now.

Her sword and knife are valuable. Her leather armor isn't too badly damaged either. But you also find a Halberd in her pack, along with some bracers and a Silver Ring.

The third body was another woman with a single gauntlet. She was right in the middle of the room. What left... it doesn't look pretty. But her armor managed to hold up.

Unlike everyone else, she isn't carrying much. Just a little bit of Gold. You find the other gauntlet stuck in your wall. But you sense something about the gauntlets. Both of them have some sort of enchantment in them. Though what it does, you have no idea.

After you go through the damage, you see that things could be worse. Just a few holes. You're just lucky that your house isn't on fire. And since you not have a giant pile of gold even before you add what you could get for selling all of this? You're rich! Or at least, you have a lot of money.

But before you can celebrate, you need to decide where you're going get the parts to fix this.

Or... since you could use your newfound wealth to hire someone else to do it. It's not like you can't afford it.

There's enough value here to not want to sell the stuff at the General Store, I think. And we can buy an absolute crapton of parts while we're there.

I think we should remove the trap by the front door to many people expected it and switching the traps could mean a nasty suppose for adventurers.
