Gundam Crucible - [An AU Universal Century Quest]

[X][Amuro] Explain your mission. Ask for his assistance. Leave out anything related to the time difference.

The longer without telling him the funnier it will be and we do have a reason to concentrate on the mission because we still have missing teammates and it's more time critical than explaining 5 years of (crazy) history.

What the flying f-?? How did his ass return from newtype heaven?

Caught up to current vote, cool to see a Gundam quest.
Liking the vibe so far.

We are far, far from the best person to explain any of this, handle the current problems first then sit with a drink or three.

Lieutenant Riddhe Marcenas
A Londo Bell pilot, he's haunted by guilt from things he's done that he considers unforgiveable.
You better be, Marida was best girl and deserved to eat that ice cream.

[X][Amuro] Tell him the year. Show him proof. Find out what he knows, and what he doesn't know. Then ask for his help to finish your mission.

Let's not be an asshole. Also, his reactions gonna either be hilarious or heartbreaking, and I'm here for both.

We're not trying to be an asshole we're just trying to figure out what to do with a possibly time-displaced Amuro Ray while an entire fucking fleet is waiting outside, we're separated from our squadron, and there's another squadron that's missing.

It could be a Full Frontal style clone of Amuro, in fact it's what I personally suspect. He probably thinks he's the real Amuro.

Sorry, was not an attack, if it seemed that way. That being said, I feel like keeping that info back is a good way to interfere with building trust. I'd love to have a nice clear middle ground of telling him that we'll catch him up after, but there's not one.

No offense taken, and I can see where you're coming from.

I mean, Amuro does have a hard time trusting others considering that he's Amuro and because he went through a lot of shit in his life.

Can't we just mention the mission first then the time difference at the end of it, promising to explain more once we are in a safer situation.

That's not really an option here, due to Cybele not really knowing how to break it to Amuro that he's missing out on five years of history.
This is Cybele's modus operandi. Hard to discuss subject? Oh! I Need to get Sicilia situated.

Riot? Whoops, I better get Sicilia somewhere safe!

Pitched Gundam battle with unclear lines of engagement? Just kill whatever Sicilia is fighting!

War hero unaware of the date and under the notion the final battle of the last war was a week ago at most? No time to explain, me and Sicilia are on a mission!

That's... Actually...

You might actually be on to something here.

We seriously need to get to those therapy sessions.

Definitely, tho ducking out of difficult conversations is more a typical teenager thing. I know the third doesn't seem like a difficult conversation, tho you have to imagine there would have been one if Cybele had left Sicilia to fight on her own after getting the captain to approve her piloting the Hrududu.

Basically we need to get her in the habit of discussing the big issues. To be fair, it's not like even Amuro was any better knowing when to talk about things his first few months as a gundam pilot.

Inside- Now

The stranger steps into the light, and you notice more details about his Normal Suit. It's a white and blue Londo Bell one, but older in style. Looks almost new though… well, looks like it was new, then got roughed up for a week or so. There's a distinctive red line down the right side of the chest. It looks familiar, where have you seen it before?

He holsters his gun and pops his own helmet, revealing a head of reddish-brown hair and a face that you could never forget (it's plastered all over the merch you just bought, and lovingly recreated on the dakimura). No longer muffled by his helmet, his voice is iconic and instantly recognizable.

"Captain Amuro Ray. Sorry about earlier." He smiles sheepishly, "I'm a bit jumpy today. Anyways, Ensign, did Bright send you? Odd choice, but I'm not going to complain. I was afraid I was going to have to fly this junk pile out of here."

HOLY SHIT! I'm facepalming so hard at not missing how it was so obvious that the mission would result in us getting Amuro Ray, the FIRST NEWTYPE of Gundam. I thought going by the title and Axis shenanigans that we would just be delving into Contolism and some Flannagan horror, not that we'd be rescuing the first Gundam Boi. Looking back that museum stuff was amazing foreshadowing, I just thought it was some filler to kill time and build up some minor character stuff, pretty hillarious that right after Cybele becomes a Stan that she finds her long lost hero and brings him back home, Eris is going to be so Jelly.

Aside from maybe the missed opportunity of not being able to spread the Revolution on Earth and Bright slapping some sanity into Hathaway, I see this Arc as an absolute win. Amuro coming back from the dead and leading the charge against the Federation as the head of Londo Bell and the greater Spacenoid Alliance is going to be a HUGE Propaganda win that is likely to see entire Feddy units, especially OYW veterans to just bail instantly because in their eyes the cause is done, while rallying the Spacenoids behind a champion who has constantly defended their freedoms while not belonging to the toxicity of the Zabi-Deikun heritage. Even propaganda benefits aside, Amuro alone has the military worth of several fleets and a legion of Gundams. He's in his prime as a Newtype and pilot and if we give him a full Psychoframe suit there will be few Feddies who can match him.

Btw Bleach, was the events of Char's Counterattack in this timeline based on the anime or novel? Because if it's the former than we can have a power couple in the White Comet and Prime Minister of Zeon, if it's the latter then not only has Amuro jumped forward five years, but he's got himself a child waiting for him along with Beltochika. Let's just hope that the Red Cunt is dead, with Zeon being finally on the side of good we don't need Char to come in and fuck things up with his daddy issues and loliconism.

Anime. Not the novel.

And unlike Amuro, who actually was MIA at the end of CCA in this quest's continuity, the authorities did find Char's body.
It was, um...
Charred.

Lol. Knowing Char, he, or his clone, will be responsible for the diplomatic mission failing. Nothing like a "Warning. Large terrestrial body descending from Orbit. Please head to your nearest shelter." To break up negotiations.

I admit I suspected Amuro was alive since the whole "His body was never recovered" from Bright, which is why I was against the Amuro groupie status.

Neat. If that gets off maybe we can get a sweet deal as part of Joint Command.

This is a false flag to lower our guard. Give it a dozen or so updates and BAAM! Twin Char Clones.

This is... really a tough choice, and I'm concerned about him freaking halfway through the mission if he realizes what's going on or if someone lets slip the actual year. Sure, he's Amuro Freakin' Ray, but it would be horrifically tragic if Amuro gets terminally distracted and his last words are "Wait, what year did you say it-"

Still, time's-a-wasting.
