So we still need to finish low-to-mid and mid-to-high first, which is going to be at least another couple turns.

With wrath ghosts still not having that much worth doing beside gaining us CC, I'm not worried about gaining the required amounts.
The wrath ghosts will ge more options next turn, but you did raise an interesting point.
With the qi dc rising every turn, and the comparative ease to get cc, it might be more economical to focus on qi and meridians and to use

Even with a magical bloodline pretty much designed to aid in one's advancement money still speaks. Being rich trully is the best superpower.

Anyways you heal 5 this turn (2 base +2 from action +1 from the pill) and get back up to 18/28 (subject to any HP subtracted this turn)

Gathering Qi is 3d10+3 (wis).

And grunt work is just 5 (1+con) and no fellowship roll this turn as you can't actually beat the dc.

If someone wants to do a final tally, I would of course offer another +5 for an action (do mention where you want it).

The actual update would take a few days, I want to finally break though on that iron oath block I've been having and I'll likely put up the initial pyramid stuff over on distant star before I work on this.

on average, we get 7 progress per ghost (when on their specialty.

so, 100/7= 29 ghosts to advance one stage, and then that requires 29 qi, which is another (29*3)/7= 13 ghosts.

double that for QC-high (doubles the cost of qi, so 26 ghosts) and TRIPLE that for QC-peak (39 ghosts).

if, absurdly, we used those 42 ghosts on the action to get CC by hunting minor spirits... that's 42*3.5= 147 progress, or 14 CC worth of reward.

55 ghosts (for QC2-high) would instead be 55*3.5= 192.5.

but I'm using qi and wisdom ghosts for it. Once you consider we're using ALSO a lot of wrath ghosts that CHANGES things...


at a first glance it seems to me that, for QC2-high and QC-2-peak, we're actually better off with the 20CC pill, using the ghosts that would otherwise gather and condense Qi to instead gather more CC through the wrath action.

...or, more reasonably, we can just do something like this

yep, my understanding of things is that basically the easiest sub-stage of QC (from low to mid) is better done by qi ghosts, but DEFINITELY for QC peak and probably even for QC-high we're better off just buying the pills.

That would maybe slow our QC progress a bit, but also make it more efficient, and in the meantime our Qi ghosts could dedicate themselves to Opening Meridians or doing Body refinining.

Within the mind of the Guang Lies the legacy of centuries, hundreds of recipes the knowledge of herbs and medicines secret from the world.

Many require unique or rare ingredients but many can also be brewed from common herbs if one only knew how.

Already Guang Li has started gathering some random wild herbs grown around the sect.

Nurture Yin [6/100]. -3 Hp

A single ancestor decided to rest within Guang Li, at the foot of the yin root did it stay, weeks it rested there feeding the root its energy and essence.

And yet the human body is not meant to house the dead not even the Guang who are a bridge between death and life can come out unscathed.

Work in the sect.

Working for the sect can be quite boring, especially for those who are taking the grunt work. Their refined and cultivated bodies make the work easy and light and yet it is that same ease which makes it so boring.

Guang Li perseveres, eight hours a day for a month and in payment he gains more wealth than a peasant family makes in a decade. Such is the reward for working for the sect, such is the due of a cultivator.

AN: the next part is going to be our event but it might take a bit, I have some Necron diplomacy to write out (or a war if things go badly I suppose) and I've started writing up a backlog of chapters for a new projects of mine, (which would replace craven heart as I decided to cancel that story) which is slowing things down a tad but it shouldnt be too long as break is coming up and I'll have more time to write.

Also, dang, we're rich. I think. I'm not sure how much money total we have. Either way, we should probably start buying pills. No point in letting our money go to waste.

We finally have a way to keep going forward.
its a longer term goal since 50 yin qi and 50 hp is an expensive ticket but we need this.

so practically the same as 3 CC per turn. useful.
 
god, the second step is going to be such a huge project. if it's a lump sum then we can't even try it for several more stages of QC.

the yin qi alone is 850 progress and the sad part is that even when we're planning on spending that much effort on yin qi, nurture yin is still more expensive than is justifiable in terms of progress, not even considering HP loss.

nurturing yin to grade 16 only saves us 50 progress towards the next step and costs 100 progress. of course in the long term easier access to yin qi also helps with meridians and maybe some stages of QC but that is such a long term goal that it really doesn't feel worth it.

Is this a onetime thing (we got these herbs because Guang Li picked them up randomliy but thats it) or a new general thing (every turn, depending on circumstances, Guang Li will roll to pick up a few herbs)?

Anyway, 3cc worth of herbs. Pre silent hunter losing effectiveness that was 30 progress of wrath, now it would have been even more.

Curious to see if Guang Li will keep randomly Picking herbs and If we will get a Spirit option to do so (and the rules (ghost specialty used, progress per herb) of it).

Does the default clause count as a potion (i.e. we could spend herbs for pure Qi, if we felt we need the Qi (not that it is likely to be worth it outside of emergencies).

Just need to get a buttload of Yin Qi.
And slowly feed the HP (as we don't want Guang Li to join his ancestors as a Ghost).
