We didn't have a choice he butts in. Thinking about it there wasn't anything we could do short of becoming God king to derail God Vicktors plan.
Yeah, like, the problem is, he's trying to make a impact, and then learning his pet project might interact with blood, leading to him doing better?

Yeah no, no chance of averting that mess.

Though I admit, I am a bit worried we have yet to see or hear about Vi, or whatever name she's going by here.

Just as a reminder, this is essentially how every interaction with Silco is portrayed.

[ ][Viktor] Approach Silco about Meeting with Shimmer's Creator
Issues: Trauma, Abandonment, Silco, Powder
Failure Consequences: Jinx says to hell with diplomacy and goes in guns blazing
[ ][Silco] Talk to Him
Issues: Trauma (-3), Abandonment (-3) Vi (-5) Daughter of Zaun (-1)
Failure Result: Jinx cannot control her temper.
Besides the fact that it is almost guaranteed to go south, there is very low odds that if Silco even knows where Viktor is that he will turn him over. High chance of incident, low chance of success.

And also Zeri is cool. That's it.

[X] Head to the Academy With Zeri

I like Zeri, Hextech, Jinx Pranks and magic electricity simple as that.

By the way...I bet Lux is coming back hence why the letter has not yet replied maybe as a surprise, if she does I will DEFINITELY vote in Jinx kissing her the moment the option exist becaus by God Jinx needs all happiness she can get.

Also saw the 'oof' dice rolls on Lux, if she got outed as a Mage I at least hope the events of The Mageseekr game happened so that we won't have to deal with her wanna Spanish Inqusitor uncle ans get closure on Sylas.

[X] Head to the Academy With Zeri

I'd considered trying to talk Zeri into dressing up like a good little Academy student to help her blend in, but wound up throwing the idea out the window. I'd been living topside for years now, and I'd never lost all my Zaun edge. Zeri would probably feel way out of her comfort zone and stick out more trying to act like a Piltie than she would just being herself. Besides, it was no secret I still had friends in Zaun, I'd even brought Ekko to the Academy once to show off a bit. I could just pretend that was what I was doing with Zeri.

She tagged along behind me, meeting the occasional curious look with a confident grin and a friendly wave. That at least seemed to do the job of avoiding too much trouble, even a couple of Enforcers who were hanging around just glared at her for a bit before moving on. Zeri snorted and leaned over to whisper to me. "Everyone thinks that sneaking into a place is all about skulking around in the shadows, but most of the time all you really gotta do is act like you already belong there and know where you're going."

"Tagging along with me probably helps a lot too," I pointed out. "I'm kinda famous for being a brilliant genius inventor around here."

"Plus you got that sweet Kiramman name going for you." Zeri grinned at me. "I bet you could get all kinds of places you're not supposed to go just by putting on your snooty voice and saying 'Don't you who my mother is?'" She put on an exaggerated fancy pants accent for that, then let out a loud snort.

I wanted to tell her she was wrong, but the last letter I'd gotten from Lux had talked about how she'd discovered she could get into the restricted section of the royal archives in Demacia just by flashing her family crest. The Kirammans weren't quite on that level, though, especially considering I still wasn't exactly on great terms with Sheriff Marcus. Plus the real reason not to pull that kinda move, the fact that Mother would eventually find out about it. I'd rather deal with every single bluebelly in Piltover than have to explain to her why I was abusing the family name.

Not to mention there were a few people I couldn't bliss my way past, like the short mountain of floof and scientific enthusiasm headed our way. "Ah, Jinx, there you are!" Heimerdinger smiled as he walked over to us, his pet poro tagging along behind him. "I was hoping to find you or Viktor. Well, actually Viktor, but I would hope you could point me in the right direction. I went by his workshop to check on him earlier, but it didn't seem like anyone was there."

I grimaced and quickly fell back on the cover story Jayce and I agreed on. "Remember that cold I picked up? Well apparently when I lost it, he found it. He's been stuck in bed at his place, trying to get over it."

"Oh, that's unfortunate." Heimerdinger sighed and shook his head. "I suppose it's no surprise, though. Cold and flu season always seemed to hit him especially hard, and he likes to burn the midnight oil and run himself ragged. He really needs to learn to relax a little, enjoy a few simple pleasures instead of being such a workaholic. I know what it's like to get wrapped up in an exciting new project, but everything he's working on will still be there next year."

"Yeah, I know." I tried to think of a graceful way to quickly exit the conversation. "Anyway, I was just gonna pick up a few things from his workshop, so…"

"Now now, don't go rushing off without even introducing me to your friend." Heimerdinger smiled and walked up to Zeri, offering her his hand. "Speaking of people who always seem to be running around doing things instead of taking some time to relax… You must be one of Jinx's friends from Zaun, it's good that she keeps in touch with them. It's very nice to meet you, young lady."

Zeri hesitantly shook his hand, only to wince when a Spark shot between them and Heimerdinger yelped and pulled his hand back, all his floof standing on end. "Sorry, static electricity. Uh, nice to meet you. I'm Zeri."

"A pleasure, you probably already know, but I'm Heimerdinger. Anyway—"

Whatever he was about to say next got interrupted as self-control finally snapped and I started cackling at the sight of him with his hair standing on end. He looked completely ridiculous. I was laughing so hard I wound up having to put a hand on one of the walls to help hold myself up as I wheezed for breath. "Oh… oh man… Prof, you gotta go find a mirror and get a good look at yourself!"

"Is it really that bad?" Heimerdinger found a window to check his reflection in. "Oh dear... I should probably fix that before the Council meeting. Always a pleasure, Jinx, and it was nice to meet you, Miss Zeri." He quickly scooted off to find a hairbrush.

Once he was safely out of earshot, I turned to Zeri. "Static electricity, huh?"

She groaned and rolled her eyes. "Like you weren't nervous the first time you met the big boss Piltie. He's shorter than I thought he'd be."

"I mean, he is a Yordle." I leaned in closer to whisper. "Your regulator's still working, right?"

"Yeah, without it I'd be doing a lot more than just zapping someone with status electricity," she confirmed. "Pretty sure causing a blackout at the Academy would mess up the whole stealth mission."

I shrugged. "I dunno, everyone would probably be so distracted by the power being out that they'd completely ignore the two of us. Let's not put that theory to the test, though. After all, with no lights on all the nerds who work here might actually go outside and touch grass, and I don't think Piltover's ready to deal with that."

Zeri grinned. "Aren't you one of the nerds who works here?"

"I'm too punk rock to be a nerd," I shot back with a grin. "Anyway, let's get to Viktor's workshop so we can get what we came for and get going."

Zeri raised an eyebrow. "What you don't want to give me the grand tour? Ekko wouldn't shut up about how cool this place was after you showed him everything. I wanna see what Piltover built while keeping everyone down in Zaun so poor."

"Ekko's a fellow gearhead, he can appreciate what we've got going on here," I pointed out. "And if you wanna get pissed off at the Pilties for leeching off Zaun, there's much better targets to go after than the Academy. The mansions owned by most of the Council would be a good place to start."

"Funny, I could swear the building we're in right now is named after one of the same families that's got a big mansion on the hill and a seat on the Council..." Zeri pointed out.

I sighed. "Yeah, I know, it's all kinda corrupt and shitty. Salo's family gave a big chunk of money to the Academy, so he gets to have a building with his name on it. Inside that building, which was made with all that dirty money, I helped build the Hextech that gave Zaun clean water. It sucks, but I can't fix everything that's shitty about Piltover on my own. Even if I could talk the Kirammans into knocking a couple of zeroes off our net worth, it'd ultimately just be a drop in the bucket when it comes to fixing everything wrong with Zaun, and most of our assets would probably just get snapped up by worse people."

Zeri reached over and squeezed my shoulder. "Yeah, I get it. It's not all on you, Jinx. You don't have to save the world. Just keep trying to do what you can. The problem isn't that you're not doing enough, it's that too many people don't even try. They think it's all too big for them, because it is too big for anyone to handle on their own. Change, real change, only happens when lots of people work together. Why do you think Silco and the Pilties put so much work into keeping us all split up into tiny little subgroups and isolated individuals?"

"Right, Vander talked a lot about community. How people can't give back to others when they're too busy worrying about where their next meal's coming from." I sighed and shook my head. "Feels like forever since I heard that kinda talk."

Zeri grinned. "You think you're the only one who grew up with revolutionary parents? My family might not have been tight with Vander like yours was, but they still marched with him. If you listen to my dad, half the ideas in Vander's head came from him, but if you ever meet him, you'll find out how much he loves talking. You hear him telling it, he was at the bridge he was side-by-side with Vander, competing over who could take down Enforcers. Mom says they were towards the back of the crowd when the bullets started flying, and that's why they got out okay."

"Glad someone's parents did." I didn't wanna burst Zeri's bubble by saying Vander'd never mentioned her father. It sounded like she already knew he liked to exaggerate. Besides, with how much Vander hated talking about the rebellion I wouldn't be shocked if there were some close friends he met during the fighting that he'd never told me about. He'd never mentioned Silco, and from everything I'd heard since he died the two of them used to be closer than brothers.

Before I could think of anything else to say we finally made it to Viktor's workshop. I pulled out the key, only to find the door unlocked. I listened at the door for a moment and heard someone walking around in there. Considering Jayce and I were the only ones who had keys to it (other than Viktor himself, obviously), I was pretty sure I knew who was in there. I stepped through. "Hey Jayce, you got anything?"

Jayce paused in his pacing around the room and sent a tired smile my way. He looked like hell, stubble on his normally clean-shaven chin and bags under his eyes. "Oh. Hey, Jinx. Yeah, just... no leads, but I keep hoping I can come up with something. Viktor—it's funny. If you asked me, I would've said he was my best friend, but now I'm realizing how little I actually knew about him. I guess I just assumed he was a very private person, so I shouldn't pry too much."

I sighed and walked over to one of Viktor's chairs, flopping down into it. 'You know how it goes, still waters run deep and all that. Everyone's got stuff going on. The real question is how much of it they feel okay sharing with everyone else. Anyway..." I waved for Zeri to come on in. "Can you clear off and go find somewhere else to go pace for a while, Jayce. I need to do a little poking around."

Jayce glanced over at Zeri, probably trying to figure out who she was, considering they'd never met. "What kind of poking around? Is there something I can do to help?"

"You can help by clearing out." I knew the score on this kinda thing from my years of covering for Seraphine with the Kirammans. Having an unregistered mage around was fine, but she had to keep all the magery undercover enough for there to be plausible deniability. That meant Jayce couldn't be in the room while Zeri did her magical things.

Unfortunately, Mother had years of experience at being a politician, while Jayce just had days. Where she would've taken the hint, he didn't. "If whatever you're doing can help Viktor, I want to be involved."

I hesitated. "You sure that's a good idea, Councilor Talis?" I put extra emphasis on his title, hoping he'd figure out what I was saying without me having to be too blatant. "You don't want some kind of scandal when you just got on the Council."

"What's the point of being on the Council if I can't help Viktor?" Jayce scoffed. "Gods, if I'd never joined the Council maybe I still would've been around when Vitkor needed me, and none of this would've happened." He hesitated for a moment. "You're asking me to leave because you're about to do something you don't want me to know about. It's not the first time you've done that. We all figured out you were keeping a few secrets after it came out that Seraphine was a mage. Whatever it is you're doing now, if it can help Viktor I want to be involved. To hell with the laws and the Council, none of that matters more than getting him back."

I groaned. Why couldn't he take a hint? "It's not that simple, Jayce."

Jayce frowned. "Yes, it is."

I sighed and looked over at Zeri, but she just shrugged. "I don't know the guy, but if you say he's cool, I'll trust him."

Well, so much for being able to say I couldn't tell him because it was Zeri's secret. There was more to it than just that, after all. Jayce was clearly going a bit nuts waiting for news about Viktor, he wasn't gonna be cool just sitting on Zeri working her magic, then going back to his office. He'd wanna get more involved, and that'd mean revealing a lot more than just Zeri's secrets. Not to mention having him running around Zaun with us instead of covering for Viktor and me up in Piltover. A member of the Council would draw a lot more attention.

On the other hand, I knew how he felt. If Seraphine had gone missing and everyone else told me ot just sit back and act like everything was normal while they looked for her, I'd be climbing up the walls. Or more likely, turning some household chemicals into a bomb to blow a hole in them. Besides, he was supposed to be one of my friends and research partners, maybe just coming completely clean with him and bringing him in would be the right call. Plus if we wanted to talk Viktor down once we finally found him, having Jayce along for the ride would help...

How long does it take Jayce to actually build some Hextech weapons? Because no way he can just come down to Zaun without being strapped.
