...I think this does cover the points I wished to address, or at least attempts to, so I'll back this vote.
 
I'll see how this vote goes in the longer run and how people feel about potentially shifting away from outright votes. We'll see.
 
Conversational updates seem like they would be more interesting.

I know I played around with the thoughts of running a quest like that once, and I've seen it done before- Prequel Adventure- but I ultimately concluded that it would be hard to drum up interest in and awareness of a completely different set of 'Quest' mechanics that lest the writer choose what suggestions they think would be interesting/fitting, rather than a quasi-democratic anarchy of voters.

Aside from that, I thought the breakdown was perfectly natural? I mean, you've got someone who is basically a lost child, and folks are just like 'Give up on ever seeing your family again kiddo lol' like it's no big deal? Of course she isn't going to react well to that, even if she tries to put on a brave face and hide it.

For a bit I was thinking about it but now I'm like you should probably do it. Honestly the interactivity component basically makes votes in some ways redundant, because the primary function of votes is to allow the player to be an active actor. In this quest the player already is an active actor in the narrative in various ways, and honestly the existence of the votes kind of unneccesarily pulls the player in two directions of focus and makes one kind of an afterthought in that particular instance. The two can exist together, but they can't really coexist. It's always going to be a focus-wide tug of war and given that the interactive element is far more new and interesting and has a good deal more strengths, it's going to consistently win.

    With both that, and the actual full realisation of her situation sinking in, it seemed completely natural to me. It's hard not to panic when your situation would be genuinely kind of terrifying for anyone. Better to process that now, not to mention be aware of the risks.

    I think we should be wary of making too many assumptions at this stage. We have no idea whether or not Spooky would have abandoned or deleted us. Personally I'd doubt it. He could have simply told Julie not to try contacting her family, and he could quite possibly even remove or lock their memory from North's mind, if he really had to. Both of those would preserve his (smallish) investment in her. In that light, fact that Spooky wanted to poke around in Julie's mind is certainly something to be aware of.

    I mean, it's best to know, rather than to not know, right? Assuming that Sofya is telling the truth, of course, which is not guaranteed.

    @ProudAmericanSofya: Well you have to hop from server to server!!! North hasn't figured out yet but once she is better I will give her a full upload of all the important servers, like our server, the null zone- etc!! Spooks is the one who opens all the doors for us so he just invites us places and we go there!!! I followed him to the null zone, for example, (and look where it got me -__- (But I really hope North is okay!!))

    Alright so, here's a question I want to run by you, since you seem more likely to have a useful perspective (Spooks strikes me as the type to just utilize Admin powers to get his way or something in some manner only he can do)-
    what sort of combat styles are out there?
    I've seen Meme-debuff-stacking courtesy of the coconut gang, and Executables via Spooky, and North can flame with the best of them, but I don't know what's out there yet or how valuable that last talent is.

    Cats are kind of like honorary dogs, I guess.

    I once saw a story about this woman who had a cat who was ill, and found it hard to eat and had very little appetite. The woman got really sad, and her cat saw that she was sad, and then saw that she was really happy when it ate a little bit of food. So it ate more to make her happy.

    Years later, whenever the woman gets sad, the cat always brings food and eats it in front of her to cheer her up. <3

    What sort of role is North likely to have? We've learned lessons about caring for our host.
    Also, what happens if someone hits 0 SAN? For that matter, how does the SAN meter work?

    Anyways, what's with the TrivialPursuits thing? Spooks said not to touch it, but he didn't really say why.
     
    Uh, I'm wondering the limitations of communication and just doing stuff in general here. Like so far everything has been text based with a few image files. Is that it? That Mike guy mentioned a VR chat room, so I don't think that's the only thing we have, but it also seems like there's a lot of places we can't go without permission.

    So... screw it, is there anyway to get a body? Even just a temporary one?
