Well, on the diplomatic front...
step 1: "Do you agree to not attack me as long as I stop expanding my creep and do not attack you?"
step 2: "If you see those Ethereals, or find clues about where they are, do I have your word that you tell me where they are so I can hunt down those fuckers down? Oh, and I guess I could tell you where the soon to be ruins are if I spot them first."
step 3: "Okay, I can brief you on what the Ethereals were doing and what was up with that astroid if you guys set up an internet hub here with a few dozen PC's connected, and keep them up and running for my use."
step 4: "Anything in particular you want, trade wise? There are a number of videos and similar I'm looking for, and just sending a Hydralisk into the nearest town to go shopping just might go badly. I think."

Trying to figure out how best to handle Nova. Really lost on how to handle that well.

no ganglia are brains they are not central brains but they are still brains, they are like a middleman between the central brain and the nervous system of that octopus arm

in humans ganglia is a PART of the brain but in a octopus it is independant from the brain but is guided by the central brain, think of them like secondary brains in this case
like the difference between a overmind zerg and your everyday zerg it WILL follow the will of the central brain utterly and completely but it is also its own in some tiny bitty way, not seperate, but a part of the greater whole
At this point, we're just quibbling over the definition of ganglia, and I don't really think that's a good use of time. I'm not gonna continue this.

I believe his Kerrigan expy can be used to accomplish the last step there, hell have her be the/your main diplomatic entity.

Tagline.

For the Swarm: Where awkwardness, misunderstandings and an ever expanding species of escalation meet.

Might work. She must of course be outfitted like in the picture and like in Starcraft for... Reasons. Buyable from XCOM, mostly? Anyway: faction name. Let's call the nation "Purple"!

"We are Purple, we exist to serve the Overmind." sounds so much less frightening than "We are the Zerg, we exist to serve the Overmind."

I've got a better one.

For the swarm; The Zerg are like women, they come from a different planet, we don't understand them and occasionally have random cravings.

Mkez away!

Someone come up with a tagline for this fic.
"A conclusion is the part where you got tired of thinking."
"Started out with nothing, still has the most of it."
"Take his advice, he's not using it."
"Got to the top of the food chain only to turn vegetarian."
"Join the Swarm today, visit exotic places, meet strange people, then kill them."
"Throwing acid is wrong, in some people's eyes."

"Daughterus are superior to waifus"?

For the Swarm: That one fic where the horrific space cockroaches created by lovecraftian monsters from another dimension? They're the good guys.

For the Swarm: Where the OP of the thread is mildly horrified by what some of the posters in the thread are thinking of.

For the Swarm: That one fic with a lot of taglines.

:V

In all seriousness gimme a few minutes to go through the thread so I can actually read everything. I got home and I had like a hundred alerts.

Alright let's start from the top!

Xcom: So, your driving purpose is to assimilate.

Moriarty: Assimilation inevitable. Zerg superior.

Xcom: What if we don't want to be assimilated?

Moriarty: Objections irrelevant; all will be Zerg.

Overmind: What if we compromise?

Thus, the Church of the Overmind was formed.

All hail our lord and liberator, the Father of the Zerg! Praise be to his faintly glowing eye!

This is canon.

I'm not saying which parts of this are canon but this is canon.

just wondering no mention on the asteroid? at all? just thought you would want to know meow

They mentioned the asteroid like three times in that one interlude.

Lots of panicking and screaming and confusion at the time.

Eh, close enough. Generic-SI probably isn't going to mention Sarah because that's just a touchy subject.

Hey a lie by omission is better than a straight-up lie, right? Eh.

Re: All those tagline posts. Gimme one overall tagline that you all agree on and I'll put it in my sig. Plaster it in a threadmark for this fic. Something. Anything.
