How Should Minions Be Capped?

Do expenses we incur this turn take away from our income next turn if we go over our current budget? I'm planning to work on the junkyard but we don't have enough funds on-hand to make that happen.

Seeing as I do have tentative support for it, I'm going to put down an actual preliminary vote

EXECUTIVE DECISION: Will M.A.D. assist SASRI in recovering their captured member?
[X] Yes

[X] Design a blueprint - "Buzzkill"
-[X] A flying combat and surveilance robot that resembles a large, red, metal bee. Incorporating flight from a combination of high-tech 'wings' and miniature repulsorlift technology, the Buzzkill features advanced sensor and targeting systems for locating and locking onto targets. For combat, the Buzzkill includes a 'stinger' that can be armed with any number of different small-scale weapons (is armed with a buster pistol by default), three retractable high-speed, diamond-tipped buzzsaws should it be required to fight in melee combat or physically go through things (two hidden in the chest and one in the 'stinger'), and a small array of bee-shaped micro-missiles. Comes complete with a self-destruct system for creating distractions, preventing capture by enemy forces, or other emergencies.

[X] (special) Commit forces to SASRI raid
-[X] Personally assist with Arial Support, Surveillance, and Coordination from the Eggmobile
--[X] If successfully designed, bring along Buzzkill unit to assist with Air Support
--[X] Bring along all Motobugs to assist with Ground Support

We should probably try to avoid going over budget, for all you know it'll make doing things outright impossible.

Could you consider building things for the raid instead, perhaps?

I'm pretty certain that we can spend this turns income this turn.

However, I do not think the Junkyard is that good of a base/front. There's a limit to how big a building we can build there before it gets suspicious, and there's only so much money to be made in hauling away junk. There are much more profitable ventures to us if you'd like me to cover them.

While this is true, we get paid to take scrap materials that we can use for building more stuff.

I would honestly just suggest waiting. Most of the strategizing that can be done is dependent on information that I Just Write (and co-writers) have not given us and probably have not figured out yet.

it's more of a robot center + metal input method. We can dig downwards if necessary to expand, anyways.

It was stated stuff made this week can be employed in the raid.
yeah but are we required to give a full action to participate? We can do a free action to send minions, of course.

Wait, is anyone even hiring minions?

Ok guys. What should I do since I obviously don't want the Lone Wolf Malus.
If @dunk1010 doesn't reply and say he wants to trade action-for-action, you could either a) help me improve my dryads or b) we can try to finally complete the junkyard..

Fair point, fair point.

RESEARCH ACTION:
[X] Design a blueprint - "Buzzkill"
-[X] A flying combat and surveilance robot that resembles a giant, red metal bee. Incorporating flight from a combination of high-tech 'wings' and miniature repulsorlift technology, the Buzzkill features advanced sensor and targeting systems for locating and locking onto targets. For combat, the Buzzkill includes a 'stinger' that, while by default is loaded with a buster pistol, can be swapped out for other small-scale weapons options, as well as four retractable high-speed, diamond-tipped buzzsaws sshould it be required to fight in melee combat (two hidden in the chest, one in the mouth, one in the 'stinger'). Comes complete with a self-destruct system for creating distractions, preventing capture by enemy forces, or other emergencies.

OPERATIONS ACTION:
[X] Manufacture Equipment
-[X] Orichalcum V1 Power Suits

[X] Fix Network
[X] Boss Minions Around
-[X] Ask the net navi to help fix network
[X] Advance Understanding of a Field
-[X] Mad!Economics

I'm unsure about my last action so what do we need? Also some help with the network might be nice.

Edit: Made my choice.

I think we wouldn't be getting enough metal to overcome the fact that we'd be getting more funds otherwise.
And while we can dig downwards there, we can do that anywhere, so isn't really a plus for hte base.

The main question is mainly "How much does shit cost". Getting pricetags on all of our stuff is rather necessary for weighing the ups and downs of on approach over the other, since it's not just cost effectiveness, but also effects how much of that stuff we can build in our Forges or what not.

Anyways, non-price questions.
  1. How many forges we got? We had one as someones starting invention, and someone built one this turn, but someones vote was indicating we had 3, and i can't really tell since the OP says we only have that original 1.
  2. Questions just for me and my Capsules. 1) Is the limiter that they can only be applied to small things something permanent (part of it being a painful success) or something that can be fixed with more science? 2)It makes it sound like that making something into a capsule costs money. Is that so (and if so, how much), or am I reading that wrong and we can now make everything small enough into capsule?
  3. Would a Cat Friend made from an Ex-Military guy have Combat 3?
  4. Is Net Navi 2.0 same price as Net Navi 1.0? It's a price question, but one I could easily see not being covered.
  5. What actions get a benefit from the Work Room? I'm asking because there were a few build actions in this update (and the week 1) that seemed like they should have gotten the bonus, but did not.
  6. When we have a Pandora Orb, do we need an existing piece of equipment to absorb, or can we just absorb the blueprint? I'm assuming the prior, because unless Pandora Orbs are really expensive, the latter would be a rather way to skip on paying funds.

yeah it's not a plus for that specific base but it disproves your other assumptions; the junkyard normalizes weirdly large amounts of metal lying around and being taken in w/o requiring that we send it out (admittedly if we sent metal out it would make sense for the whole robot thing. Actually, we can just shift the junkyard into a robot factory after we've acquired it or something).

I think people just like it narratively. I'm voting for it because I want land, more income, and people to stop saying "people want the junkyard!! don't spend the money (you made with a weirdly good roll)!!"

aka I'm motivated half by sympathy and half by a bitter core.

I'll try to push the list; it might need to wait until he's done.
I doubt you'll get price lists for new things ever, but I can compile one for premade things??

@dunk1010 I'd meant to do the dryads next turn because right now I want to help make the bee robot. Can we postpone dryads until then or do you have significant plans next turn?

But still voting for this just in case you really want to get rid of your debt now (and because I just want my dryads done QQ)

@dunk1010 kk, ty <3 we'll do dryads next turn

I'm willing to help with the Junkyard, just not this turn.
Want to do it together next turn, when I'm doing dryads w/ my other action?

What do you mean by new things? The stuff we just got this turn, like the Power Armor?
I think I was mistaken in my thought process, my apologies. For some reason I was thinking y'all could go "I want to invent & produce x of this thing on the same turn" but that's probably disallowed. Since it's research & then produce, I'll try to push for creating prices as a part of the balancing process that, presumably, is occurring (I'm new; I have no idea how things work).

There are times I really wish people would actually read the entire thread, and then I see the current page count and feel slightly bad about cursing them out in my head.

Am i able to directly assist the SASRI raid? Cause i want to do that.

Yes you can do that, requires a non-free, non-research action if you want to be there in person.
