You are a Maid, After All
[X] You should probably go see Ilya and explain what happened.

You keep tapping your chin for a few seconds, then clap your hands together and smile. "Well then, I'm going to go see Ilya and explain things; we wouldn't want her to bring out Berserker unnecessarily, after all! Want to come with me?" You tilt your head as you look at Deis, but she shakes her head.

"No thanks, Flan. I'll … just get some pointers on where to start working, I guess." Something about the way she says it raises your suspicions, but you keep your smile up as you bob your head up and down. Then you swing around and hug Remilia to you possessively.

"Fine - but hands off my sister! Not only is she my sister, but now she's an endangered species!" Deis's baffled look makes you giggle, and after a quick peck on your sister's cheek, you skip out past Deis and the aggravated magician, making sure to close the door tightly behind you … and then you lean back against it, wondering what Deis wants to keep hidden from you.

"Well, now I can't wash this cheek for a year! That naughty girl …." You stifle another giggle at your sister's flippant remarks. "So, what did you want to ask me?" You cock your head, listening intently for Deis's reply.

"Do … do things like this happen frequently?" Your good mood falters at the sorceress's weary question. You don't expect that she'd enjoy all the same things you do, of course, but she seems so … exhausted. Does she really dislike it so much?

"Yes. Flandre is always causing problems for others like this." Your mood darkens further at Patchouli's snarled accusation - a rotten lie, of course, but what should you expect? Sure, she apologized and explained earlier, but she still hates you.

"No, hold on -"

"Patchouli." Your sister's growl is almost palpable, even through the door, and you can imagine Deis looking at your sister in surprise. It doesn't slow down the magician, though.

"It's true, Remilia! And every damn time, you back her up! You just -!" The door flares against your back and you scoot forward. A glance back at it shows nothing out of the ordinary … but someone probably doesn't want anyone to listen in. Probably your sister; either that, or someone started a fight and your sister is going to finish it on her terms. Regardless, you slip away - you can't exactly go back in without making the situation worse, and you probably won't be able to hear anything else. Still, Deis's question … hurts, a little. You try to bury your disappointment and remember where the image showed Ilya. Sella was carrying her, and she was still asleep … you let your feet take you to her new suite. You nearly bump into Sella as she hurries down the stairs.

"Oh! Lady Flandre …." She stares at your new outfit and you grin before shaking your duster in her face.

"Hehe! It's cute, isn't it? Is Ilya up yet?" She manages a stunned nod and you giggle before stepping forward and flying up the stairs, carrying her with you. You set her down at the top and trot toward Ilya's room. "Ilya~!" Her head whips around as you turn into her room, and you throw yourself forward, adjusting your trajectory and speed so you flop lightly across her lap. "Hi~, Ilya. You look cute today, too!" Her answering smile is … strained.

"Um, thank you, Flan. But … what is this? What happened?" You roll around so you're front-to-front instead of across her and look up.

"We're maids for today!" Ilya's expression definitely falls noticeably, and your own smile fades as she looks at her missing arm.

"Just the two of us?" You reach up and lightly tap her nose, startling her.

"Of course not, silly! Everyone in the mansion is a maid today! Me, my sister - even Patchouli and the gazebo are maids!" Her expression locks in place for a moment and you giggle. "And you are Chief Maid and get to supervise everyone and tell us what to do!" Ilya looks thoughtful at that, but she doesn't seem any happier.

"Chief Maid," she mutters quietly. She chews on her lip for a moment before looking back at you. "Flan, could you take me to see your sister?" You stiffen and she smiles gently, patting your head. "No, no - it's just … I don't know much about your mansion, still, and I don't want to tell anyone to do something that will cause trouble for her or your other maids after today. Please, Flan?" She's lying. You don't know if she thinks she's actually fooling you, but you allow yourself to smile happily and nod quickly.

"Okay! Come on!" Leysritt steps forward to take control of the wheelchair as you hop back and head for the door.

"Sella, if you wouldn't mind helping with the gardens?" She stiffens slightly, unhappy about being sent away from Ilya, but bows and follows as you skip down the stairs, peeling away to head for the entrance. You bounce around energetically, but even that façade of happiness seems to fool Ilya when she remembers to pay attention to you. When you turn into the hallway where Remilia's newspaper room is, you nearly run into Patchouli and Deis. The magician doesn't even notice you, but she looks both furious and like she's been crying. Deis gives you a shrug and shakes her head as Ilya stares after the retreating magician. You shrug when Ilya looks at you in turn; Patchouli must have lost her argument with your sister. When you reach the office, though, Ilya motions for you to wait. "Um, Flan. Would you mind cleaning this hallway? You know, since you're a maid and all." She tries smiling gently, and you think your own answering smile looks sincere, but it's hard to feel any happiness. You simply nod and back up. "Leys, you stay out here." The homunculus nods, silent as ever, and closes the door after Ilya. You watch the door for a moment as Leysritt stands against the wall next to it, then shake yourself. You do have a job.

It takes you a few minutes to hunt down the necessary supplies - you end up yanking them away from a trio of fairy maids and assigning them to your clones. They startle you when they appear, as despite the implications of Berserker being a maid, you don't really expect them to be wearing maid outfits as well. Of course, their uniforms are more traditional, like Sakuya's, only one is in blue, one in green, and the other a dark red. Shaking off the surprise, the four of you take up broom, mop, duster, and oil-rag and get to work. There isn't much you can do about the inset carpet, but the bare wood floor around it is swept and mopped, you dust around the furniture, furnishings, and paintings are oiled for preservation.

When you finish, Ilya is still cloistered with your sister, and you slump dejectedly.

What do you do?

[ ] You might as well keep cleaning the hallways.

We will show Patchouli that we can be good maid, unlike SOMEONE.

[X] Cooking is also one of a maid's duties, right? Prepare some snacks and refreshments for all the hard working and hungry maids.
-[X] Make something small but nice for each named person... and if you have time, even Patchy, you guess.

Well of course. Flandre is a Scarlet. It's either sass or overwhelming rage,
Or crippling depression, years-long self-introspection (or study), machine-like dedication to a particular task, etc.

Flandre just tends to default to permanently and messily removing things that bother her because then she's not bothered by that thing anymore.

Basically: Flandre is more unconcerned about the future ramifications of her actions.
Her sister has learned to be the responsible one.
Each of them will naturally slide into a sassy but low-key depressive attitude without something to focus on. Reimilia just is better at finding things to do.

A custom but wise vote.

Patchy will sizzle in her.... Boots? Shoes? What does Patchy even have for footwear right now?

Either that or she would be surprised.

Hmm, depends on WHEN, but Waver PoV is a claasic
I just want you to know: for some reason, when I try to come up with ideas for a Waver PoV, I keep imagining Remilia not taking the Servants seriously. To the point where she has a ridiculous 'Servant' character sheet for herself because she's pretending to be Caster. And I kind of want to do that, because it would be funny to me ... but I kind of don't, because if I used the ideas that are percolating right now, it would look like she's even more ridiculous than she actually is. Very delicate balancing act, and one I'm not sure I could do very well.

You take a deep breath and hold it, eyes closed, trying to push back the wave of despair. Ilya has a perfectly legitimate reason to see your sister, and whatever's taking them so long to talk about … is just really important and complicated. She said she wanted to make sure she didn't make any mistakes with orders, and the mansion is pretty big sometimes. You let out your breath, and take another, more natural one. You're fine, nothing's wrong. Your clones hold themselves utterly still - at least until you finally make up your mind about what you should do next and send them off ahead of you. It's fortunate that Leysritt is out here and not someone more inclined to action; your clones are often the surest indicator of your mood, and someone else might have noticed what was happening and tried to do anything. Leysritt, if she noticed at all, won't do or say anything. Cheerful mask in place, you approach the homunculus.

"Leysritt! I'm going to the kitchen to make some stuff, okay? Keep an eye on Ilya!" Her head bobs once in reply and you grin before turning and flying after your clones. Fortunately, they've already scattered the few fairy maids between you and your objective, and by the time you reach the kitchen the fairy maids who had been in there, contemplating what to make for themselves, have already fled. As long as they don't spread rumors of you throwing them out … well, it's not like those would matter much, either.

You walk into the pantry and look around. Hopefully someone will go shopping before Sakuya gets back, or else she'll probably lecture your sister. Well, you're not planning on doing anything extravagant, so it shouldn't be a problem. Drinks are easy, of course, but what to make for everyone?

You could make cookies for you and your sister, although you won't be able to make them like Sakuya does. Maybe a bloody frosting or gel-layer on top? That could work …. And for Meiling - you frown. You aren't sure what the gardener really likes, so she's going to be difficult. You remember a kind of filled pastry she's made before, and it was good, but you don't know what was in it, and it's a bit late to go ask her how it's made right now. Well, she likes dumplings, so she'll get dumplings! Your clones start moving, getting supplies and utensils, getting the ovens ready, and making sure the preparation areas are clear. Not so much for you, because your clones are too coordinated for simple problems like that, but in case anyone else wants to make something. Then they start working on the general food - sandwiches, bread rolls, and other snacks.

After Meiling … you skip the magician for now. Koakuma. She's a devil, like yourself, but she isn't a vampire, so you're not sure she likes garlic. You look around for the sealed container and open it - then slam it closed. Sakuya doesn't usually keep much of it on hand, for obvious reasons, so Remilia must have gone shopping at some point. Your jaw quivers and you lick your lips, but you force yourself away from the delicious herb. You have a job to do as a maid … and that much garlic would make you sick pretty quickly. Hmm … but then you could stay with Ilya - no, Remilia would know. She'd be pretty angry, too. You shake your head and get back to Koakuma. You honestly don't know what she likes, but you're pretty sure she likes sweet things … a pudding, maybe? Yes, something like that …. Basic idea set, you move on - skipping Satsuki, of course, because she's being silly and sleeping! Maids who don't work don't get special treats, after all.

You frown as you consider Deis. You already made her a bunch of stuff this morning - she still has some of it left over! - but you can't exactly skip her without being rude. You look up as something tromps into the kitchen and stare, wide-eyed as Ershin, wearing a simple black maid uniform looks around. Your mind refuses to work for a moment.

"This room is being handled?" You blink and nod slowly, and Ershin looks around again before laughing its eerie laugh.

"Then I will clean elsewhere. Deis said we have to work!" You stare at the armor as it retreats and slowly shake your head. Your sister included Ershin as a maid. Your sister, who seemed disgusted at the idea of Berserker as a maid, included Ershin. ….

You shake your head again. You decide to make something meaty for Deis and assign one of your clones to it. It can surprise you and her. Ilya and Illyasviel … they, at least, are easy. Small chocolate-filled cakes. Ilya's will be shaped like Berserker, Illyasviel's like … a cat. Yes, a little kitten, that will do nicely. It fits her personality and abilities quite well. You hesitate again as you consider Sella and Leysritt, but as long as you're on a bready kick - Quarkkäulchen should be fine for them, right? With different sauces for the two of them, of course … but that is going to be a little interesting. Have you forgotten anyone? Sakuya isn't here, so you can't make anything for her. Satsuki is asleep, so you can't make anything for her. Berserker and Ershin don't eat, as far as you know. Fortunately, it's not like tirggel are difficult to make or take a lot of time.

You throw yourself into the preparations alongside your clones. Four sets of hands, perfectly coordinated and with plenty of space to work, is enough that the work passes quickly and easily. You're hovering in front of the oven, counting down until it's time to take the tirggel out, when a cheerful, bubbly voice interrupts you.

"Fla~an! Oh, here you are!" You whirl around and look at Ilya as she looks at the food you've made. "Oooh. Oh, Flan, you're such a good maid! Oh, Berserker! Ah - hey!" You shake your head as she pouts at your clone.

"It's still hot, Ilya. Er, are you okay?" She grins widely and bobs her head up and down. She seems … unusually cheerful and energetic. Especially considering her attitude when you were with her earlier.

"Yep! I'm just happy … hm, I think you should be wearing one of those outfits, though. If you took off the apron, you could pass for someone not a maid, and that's just not right!" You glance dubiously at your clones; Ilya sort of has a point - but this outfit was picked by Remilia for you. And regardless of what she says, she's definitely acting a bit weird. What did your sister do to her?
