[X] There's going to be a meeting here! You should get more stuff and make sure there's plenty to eat!
- [X] … Make sure to get Caster's permission, first.
Right; Caster probably hasn't thought about refreshments, and while you don't really blame her for that, since this is a planning meeting and not a party, it's still something that needs to be done. Especially since Deis can actually eat now, instead of having to watch! You have to get Caster's permission, first, though - maybe she does have plans for something to eat, and if you're going to make anything you'll need to use the kitchen. You wait for in the hallway, and smile at her when she comes out of the bathing room. "Um, I was thinking about going out for a bit to pick up some stuff. Is that alright?" She stops and frowns at you.
"Can you go out during the day without being seen? And what were you planning and getting?" She crosses her arms as you clasp your hand behind your back.
"Oh, not being caught is easy; I can do things during the day, I just don't like to. It's not as comfortable and it's more of a strain. But I'm not planning to be out long. I was just thinking about the meeting tonight, and it would be better if we had some food and maybe some drinks! That's around the time when people start eating, so it would be polite to have something, and it'll make them more comfortable if there's good things to eat! And it's only proper to have some kind of refreshments available." Caster stares at you for a moment before dropping her arms and sighing.
"I hope I don't come to regret allowing the meeting to be held here. You aren't planning on obtaining much, are you?" You look up at the ceiling, thinking, then shrug.
"Not a lot, but … there'll be Deis, me, and you, and Tohsaka and Emiya and their Servants, and maybe Ilya and Berserker. That's nine people - ten if Souichirou comes, and maybe more if Rider or Lancer or their Masters come. I don't plan on making an actual meal out of it, but some snacks and light food and drink is certainly necessary." Caster gives you a blank look and sighs again. "Oh, and I don't plan on going too far - I hope the market district on this side of town has enough stuff. I'm sure the places across town have a larger selection, but I only want to go there if there's something I really want to have that I can't make with the stuff from closer."
"Oh, very well. I suppose you have a point, and … it would be nice, I think. Just be careful, please." You smile and, despite her feelings, hop forward and give Caster a hug. She stiffens, of course, but pats your head a couple times. You let her go and step back, still smiling.
"Thank you, Caster. I'll be back soon!" You curtsy, then dash away toward the entrance. You drink a blood pack for the immediate energy and turn invisible as you slip through the door. You fly up, scowling at the sun above, but you're drawn to the main temple area before leaving - there are lots of people there, all praying. Not as many as at Remilia's parties, of course, but still a lot. Maybe it's because of your fight with the Church woman? You grin and go back to your errand, careful to avoid anything that would attract attention. It's kind of a shame Agito isn't here with you … you hope Lutecia's doing well and her mother is fine. Well, Remilia knows she's your friend, right? She wouldn't let anything happen to them, not without trying to help.
You grin and lick your lips as you contemplate your spoils. Several oils, salt, most of the spices you recognized, bread and the makings thereof, chicken, beef, eggs, cheeses, some vegetables to go with them, and some of the decent tea blends you found … you giggle silently. You probably got a lot more stuff than Caster thought you would, but that's the nature of your duty, and you probably won't use all of this today, anyway. You aren't making a meal, so that limits you in some respects - no soups or noodle dishes, for example, and you don't want to make anything that needs two hands or silverware to be eaten, and you don't really want to overwhelm or overload people, or make things that are too different … although Ilya might like some more food from home. Still, the purpose is to keep people friendly and not hungry, and you can do that.
The trip back is just as uneventful as the trip there, and you nod politely as you pass where Sasaki usually stands. Not that he can see you, of course, and you can't see him, and the courtyard and temple are still crowded with people. You hurry back to Caster's building and return to visibility once you're safely inside. You peek in the main room, but no one is there, so you quickly ensconce yourself within the kitchen. You could use your clones to make it all faster, but you've still got hours before the meeting and not much to do, so you might as well get started now. You take out some of the beef and chicken and some vegetables - onions, peppers, mushrooms - and start sliding them onto skewers in varying proportions. They'll need to be grilled, or at least cooked, and you might season them first, but they don't need much work, and you hum to yourself as you put the skewers together. Once you have a good collection, you set them aside and start working on the dumplings - mixing the dough and adding some spices before letting it sit for a bit. You can wrap them around the meat later. You take some of the ready-made bread and slicing it - the slices can be dipped or soaked in oil and grilled with toppings.
You hear the door sliding to the side and turn, but it's not Souichirou this time. Deis stands in the doorway, wearing the cassock and sniffing frequently. Her eyes seem almost glazed over until she shakes her head and looks at you piteously. "Flan? 'm hungry …." Even concentrating, there's still a noticeable slur to her words, but she is understandable, even if her voice is tremendously unfamiliar.
"Hmm … well, I was getting this ready for the meeting," you begin, and Deis claps her hands over her mouth just as a whine reaches your ears. You stare at her for a moment, stifling a giggle, then shake your head. "But I can make you an omelette, if that's alright?" Once you see her head start bobbing up and down you spin away and take out the frying pan. You also take out a large pot that's in one of the cupboards - you can use it to boil the dumplings. You glance back at Deis to see her jaw quivering, but she's standing quietly at a countertop, staring down. Curiously, her stomach isn't growling - but if she's hungry, instead of her body, it wouldn't, so there's nothing wrong. You finally finish the two omelettes you were making and take them over to Deis. "Careful, they're still hot." You ignore the ecstatic sounds as she wolfs them down and begin putting dumplings into the large pot - it's not quite boiling yet, but it's close enough that you can keep an eye on things and give some to Deis. She's certainly eying everything ravenously ….
What do you do?
[ ] Let Deis skim some off the top while you keep making things.
[ ] Put a plate together for Deis now, but don't let her have anything else until the meeting.
DM Note: Right now, I think the next update will go through part of Rin's meeting, although if you guys want to do something else first, there is time for one, maybe two things.
(Side Note: Don't try to write food scenes when you're tired.)
