Finding the Spark (Pathfinder 1E Quest)

There are multiple possibilities, and all of them make sense to one degree or another, but I'm leaning towards Anippe being the target. She's being hunted by Gebbites on a very short deadline and she just came into our care. A Vampire showing up now of all times is not likely to be a coincidence.

It's a shame Cob didn't think to apply his Disguise Hat effect before being seen by a bunch of people, though. We need to get out of here ASAP. Too much attention has been drawn and our cover is pretty much blown here.

@DragonParadox, have we picked up the spell foci yet?

[X] The vampire was most likely after Anippe, you already know she was being hunted by the undead
-[X] Pay the innkeeper his 200 gold and warn him against making a fuss, lest it becomes common knowledge that Vampires prey upon his customers.

What does the law say about random monster attacks?

@DragonParadox does the inn keeper and his family not live here?

Does he not have a symbol of Caiden over the bar at least?

There is no category for them, for this instance... well being a vampire is illegal in Andoran, if you can prove there was a vampire here.

They do both, you could try to appeal to his religion, the trouble is he is out some pretty significant damage from the bats

Should we attempt to track down the vampire with divination before sailing out? Try to get a clue where it might have gone to to wait out the day.

Normally I would be more willing to make an issue of this dude trying to milk us for gold, but given the circumstances it's probably better just to pay him and get out of here.

@DragonParadox, as part of preparations to depart, can Mina have Conjure Carriage prepared in place of Delay Poison: Communal, Rune of Rule prepared in place of Glitterdust, and Mount: Communal prepared in place of one of her Invisibility spells?

The Summoning spells are part of what I had in mind for contingencies in Cheliax, but now they could be useful before we leave the city, since we have time to kill.

The Rune of Rule would have been for buffing the Unseen Crew spell scrolls to make them last longer, but also for the Greater False Vision scrolls we got from Eshe.

The current plan isn't to sail out, but rather teleport directly to Gorok's tribe.

...and a vampire was able to enter without being invited?

...not that pathfinder vampires actually have that weakness.

...

Oh wait they do actually.

Oh I see.... The parts of the inn that are an inn are a public place in which a vampire can come and go as he pleases. It is only the parts in which the inkeeper and his family live that count as a home for vampire purposes.

Most probably are, actually. IIRC, ironically, you can't really have any sort of respectable life in Geb unless you're an Undead, and there are few Undead that would make better lawyers than Vampires. They're both bloodsuckers by nature, after all. :p

Damn bloodsuckers, smart vermin I tells you!

[X] Goldfish

Hopefully we can leave quickly and deal with devil worshippers instead.

As soon as we deal with the innkeeper, we should relocate. @DragonParadox, does that need to be included in the current vote, or will that be something for next chapter?

Vote... closed? Man I don't think I've ever seen two votes.

Wait a second, I'm updating the vote. Almost done.

The idea is to obscure our trail, hide, then kill time until we can get our spell foci without raising a fuss as soon as the crafter opens for business. Then we'll teleport to Cheliax.

-[X] The vampire was most likely after Anippe, you already know she was being hunted by the undead
-[X] Pay the innkeeper his 200 gold and warn him against making a fuss, lest it becomes common knowledge that Vampires prey upon his customers.
-[X] Getting out of Sight:
--[X] Kori uses Inspired Spell to cast Greater Hide from Undead on everyone.
--[X] Sirim uses Wild Arcana to cast Invisibility Sphere on everyone then uses Wild Arcana to cast Detect Scrying.
--[X] Mina uses her Pass Without Trace SLA on everyone, and once everyone is properly situated, uses Wild Arcana to cast Dimension Door to teleport the group to a random out of the way location at the edge of her current 760 foot range she has seen within the past several days.
--[X] Pepper casts Mage Armor on himself, Anippe, and Sirim.
--[X] Anippe hides in Cob's Handy Haversack and the Iruxi pile into our Type II Bag of Holding.
-[X] Staying out of Sight:
--[X] After teleporting, Cob and Gorok will find a nearby space where the group won't be disturbed for a few minutes, then:
---[X] Mina casts Conjure Carriage using the Extend Spell Metamagic Rod. Gorok will drive it and Cob will act as a lookout on top of it. Everyone else will ride inside. Gorok will slowly drive them around the city, as if looking for an open inn or a place to rest for the evening.
---[X] Once inside the carriage, Kori will use Shadow Projection to follow the carriage from above, with Pepper and Sirim's Draconic Ally. Sirim will cast Marionette Possession on Kori's body and Mina will apply the Rune of Rule spell to him, as well as casting Hermean Potential on him.
---[X] Once situated in Kori's body, Sirim will use one of the Greater False Vision scrolls on Anippe, expending his Rune of Rule with the Generosity effect to increase the scroll's caster level to 15th. The false image it shows to anyone who successfully uses Scrying on her will be a random stretch of forest, like one could find anywhere in Andoran or Taldor, and an armed camp of mercenaries. He will use Hermean Potential rerolls and a Fortune Hex reroll from Mina, if necessary, to succeed on the caster level check.
