Forte will spend some time to regain control of himself, if the capsule is still there after that, he will be able to try to take it.

Hmm... So is the first option "Kill Falzar" then? Don't want Alarumon devouring Falzar for a power boost, and Lord Wily clearly has an Evil Master Plan involving the enslaved Falzar.

Actually, why does WWW know about Falzar to begin with? Huh, actually... Isn't there a good chance Wily might know who Forte is? Then again, Forte woke up in the UnderNet, so either Wily doesn't care or didn't notice.

[X] Go for that capsule!

Whether he grabs it or kills it is irrelevant, the other two options are just that bad. Doing a Berserker rush into the middle of a fight between two not-insignificant combatants? Probably not suicide, but definitely stupid. And pointless. Standing there and trying to regain control is asking for someone to either cheap shot us or for everything to be over by the time we wake up, so stupid and, very easily, potentially pointless.

Spoilers, spoilers everywhere.

But about Willy knowing, SciLabs has being doing this for a while now (Dynamo mentioned it) and Willy does has some informants keeping an eye on the UnderNet for any information that could help him with his plans.

@Astaroh-M: Wait, why does Alarumon think she is entitled to Falzar? Literally all she did was tell Forte where to go, Forte actually fought Gregar and got the capsule filled. If anything, Falzar rightfully belongs to Forte as battle spoils.

Plus, how else are we suppose to get a pet for Forte? Virus Breeder only appeared for one game, and Gospel being a thing at all is questionable... Oh, actually, since Gospel started as a Bass/Forte clone...

Huh, that's probably one of the hugest butterflies at place: given Forte's very different approach to interaction and powerset, the Forte clone & Gospel would be different from canon. Oh... Does that mean Gospel could actually end up as Gregar 2.0?

Silly things like logic and fairness matter little for Blossomon!

She found out about the capsule and so she decided that it was hers, simple. :p

Maybe the true pet was the friendship that was inside us all along?

Wait, no, that's the wrong saying. :thonk:

[X] Keep fighting, just keep fighting!

The true power of an anime protagonist!

Ok then, votes close!

The winner is:

[6] Go for that capsule!

Let's get that shiny thing!

@Astaroh-M: Oh, for curiosity's sake, how do you handle omakes? I'm kind of interested in trying, especially since I'm really excited where this story will go. Battle Network/Megaman/Mighty No.9 + Neptunia + Digimon gives quite a lot to work with, after all.

Hmmm, I'm not completely sure honestly, this quest is basically a narrative one so I don't think I can give rewards.

>_<

I think the more I can do with them is that if they mesh well with the world I may make them canon and there could be some reference to them in the future, or something similar.

Oh I don't care about mechanical rewards, just the possibility of canon status interests me. Don't really have any concrete ideas yet, though writing Noire/Blanc/Vert is one possibility.

Go it! Hope you get inspiration soon then.

Oh actually, are Uzume and Plutia already planned for? Thinking about 4 Goddesses Online got me wondering, wouldn't they portray Purple Heart as a villain here? So it'd make sense they'll create the "Demon Lord" as a stand-in, either the domineering Iris Heart or omnicidical Kurome.

Yet, tying into the earlier idea of self-aware GameNavis, I'm thinking whoever is set up as Neptune's stand-in would have an unexpected good side. I should finish 4 Goddesses Online first, but I'm liking this idea.

Right now I have only thought about the four main goddesses.

There are simply too many characters, so I have an outline for the main protagonist of the other games for now, and if the story starts to focus more on them then I will start thinking more things accordingly.

So... is a canon omake about Uzume off the table? Cause I was starting to solidify my previously mentioned 4 Goddesses Online idea into something coherent.

Like, the basic idea being Kurome designed as an "arrogant smug self-entitled" villain type, even using a megaphone to loudly broadcast her superiority to the NPCs & Players.

Yet, between being built from scratch (least compared to the Angel Goddess versions of Noire/Blanc/Vert), designed with adaptive complexity for that "life-like" feel, and the omake being an Alpha test...

I imagined Kurome having a mental breakdown / logic bomb'd upon realizing she actually doesn't deserve being mistreated and scorned. The result being the accidental creation of Uzume, and Kurome truly becoming a tragic villain rather than a sophisticated digi-puppet.

Hmmm, I think something like that would be semi-canon for now, mainly because I would like to focus a whole arc in the video-game world and make it so the game that uses the Navis as completely unaware NPCs is a brand new idea, so having a game already using that would clash with the idea. >_<

Well... Maybe the "3 Goddesses Online" game is a prototype for Unaware GameNavis in general? Further explains why they weren't prepared for Kurome's massive freak-out, as they were messing with an experimental technology.

Thus publicly the Kurome Incident wouldn't be known, and once "3 Goddesses Online" is officially rolled out they just spin the "fictional backstory" that she purged away her "good half".

There's a lot of fine-tuning and whatnot to do, so I'll figure something out. Though honestly, a private alpha-test designed specifically for Unaware GameNavis makes a lot of sense. One of those things you want carefully tested.

I do like the idea, maybe after her freakout they restrained her and re-programmed her to make her forget, but in actually the memory is still there, waiting to surface again when the game goes live.

Write it and I will tell you if there's something that needs to be change to be canon if you want.

Oh, I wanted to confirm a few things first. Since "3 Goddesses Online" is a counterpart of 4 Goddesses Online, it would be SciLab responsible for making it right? Since only they should know how HDD works.

Second, how would GameNavis be viewed? Since the idea is they're "sophisticated digi-puppets" serving to make games and interactive media more immersive, they wouldn't be seen as alive like "real NetNavis"?

The idea I have is to go "Tragic Villain" with Kurome, getting dragged off and having her "Adaptive Programming" ripped out- with the scientists unaware Kurome is helplessly listening & watching as they form Uzume, while casually discussing how they'll "fix" Kurome so she doesn't have another "programming error".

Mean, SciLab produced Alpha, the SoulNet, and tried to delete Forte for a crime he didn't commit. The game division being oblivious jerks is hardly that weird in comparison.

They would see them as Navis doing their jobs, the public wouldn't know that the Navis actually think everything is real, they would think that they're simply very good actors.

The marketing for the game would be something like: Navis designed specifically to act as NPCs for the world so is more real!

With emphasis on Act.

Hmmm.

Hell I think it could even work as a counter part to Cossak's design of Forte!

The game is all a simulation from another branch of SciLab that want to develop their own Navis with a "Soul" and that's why it was design like that.

Hmm... So is that both SciLab and The Public, or does only The Public view them as "real NetNavis"? It clearly sounds like SciLab and/or GameNavi Employers want people to think GameNavis are just actors.

Regarding the spoiler bit... So for 3 Goddesses Online "SoulNavis" is their real objective, merely producing GameNavis for more research data and funding? In that case, maybe Kurome's "programming error" is considered a boon?

With them only stripping out her Adaptive Programming, creating Uzume, because she was the first to initiate a "code rewrite" unwittingly under her own power? Basically, she tried willfully changing her personality like a "soulful human", and wanted her mostly intact for study.

Wait... NetNavis already have souls in this setting, so... Huh, does that mean, like in canon... Kurome actually predates the 4 Goddesses? So the unexpected incident with Kurome resulted in that development? Kind of significant for an omake...

You know, me putting it a spoiler is meaningless if you just say it. :p

And yes.

It's true that all current Navis are more alive that the ones in the show thanks to Cossack never leaving, but this branch wants to test things even further: how will the Navis react if they think they're humans? (Albeit ones with powers) That's one of the points of the simulation.
