[] "I'll do my best, Teacher."
You raised your head and met her gaze. Her eyes widened at that before you spoke, "I'll do my best, Teacher."
"Teacher... I have a name. No need to address me as that," Sarah replied with a patient tone. She then cleared her throat and added, "Though I will see to it that you abide by your words."
"Tomorrow we'll work on moving targets. Perhaps we could even have the department provide us a room to move in," Sarah said as she had a thoughtful look on her face.
"Aren't you going above and beyond for a random girl you just met?" You pointed out with a frown.
"No, no. Once we have started there will be no stopping it. Return here tomorrow. My business here isn't quite done yet," Sarah said as she crossed her arms, "Don't be late."
"Um, sure thing?" You replied as she nodded in satisfaction before turning to leave. She waved you goodbye before leaving you alone in the room.
You couldn't help but hit your head on the table and groan.
.....
....
...
"So did you find out anything?" Medb asked as the two of you are dinner at another restaurant. She was sampling the roasted potatoes and hummed in delight with every bite.
You sipped your drink and gave her a dead look, "I'm thankful that it's only an hour each day but anymore and I feel like my arms will fly off."
"Well now, sounds like she's working you hard. Maybe I could sneak in a little private time with you too," Medb winked before you gave her a dry look.
She raised her hands in surrender before you could crawl over the table to stab her with your fork. You sat down with a grimace before you stabbed the meatball on your spaghetti.
"She's a teacher and an effective one too," you murmured as you reflected on your lesson, "She spurns one's growth by helping me piece together solutions. Like how I wield my weapon and making sure my posture and aim are aligned with one another."
"Sounds like the sort of person I'd find hard to deal with," Rider groaned as she shook her head.
"Yeah. You'd be the problem child to her disciplined attitude," you told your Servant.
"Oho? Is that how it is?" Rider scoffed as she went back to her meal.
"In any case, did you sense if she was a Servant?" You asked with a curious tone.
"I did. Well as much as I could from where I was. Had a couple of Druids too but there's the thing," Rider said with an unhappy look, "It seemed like the room you were in didn't exist."
"What?" You blinked in surprise.
"It's like... How should I say this... It's like the room was sound proofed but only towards invasive magecraft if that makes sense," Medb said as she shook her head, "My Druid's runes and Magecraft can't know what was going on in that room."
So the entire time I was at her mercy... And even you couldn't know what was going on," you said with an alarmed tone.
"I mean I could just walk in there but my Druids aren't exactly that strong or skillful with this magic thing," Rider said with a huff. She shook her head and sighed, "Dammit, that's a bust."
"In any case we have confirmed several things. She's affiliated with a Magus and has the high chance of being a Servant herself. If she tries to kill me, I'm dead meat," you said with a frustrated look of your own, "But she didn't... Why?"
"If she's that powerful enough to negate my Druids then she's probably bad news. I can understand you attracting someone like Emiya or Saber but this is just bad, bad, bad, Master," Rider snickered as you narrowed your gaze her way.
"That aside we don't know what she wants. She says that she's running errands for Derrinsmith but I think it's an excuse at this point," you murmured before you finished your drink.
Rider tapped her cheek and said, "Are you still going to try and coax her out or are we jumping her? If you ask me I think we should disappear."
"I just don't get it. Why would she be hanging around us, the smallest fry in this war when Emiya and Saber are around. Hell even the Apostles are big targets... Picking off the weak doesn't make sense," you said as you gave it some more thoughts.
Rider simply stared at you before you sighed. Your phone vibrate before you picked it up. It was Emiya.
"Hello?" You spoke into your phone.
"There are Servants fighting. Saber and I are observing the commotion. It's Archer and Caster, they've clashed."
You stood up on your seat before catching Rider's gaze. You looked at her before you spoke, "Uh... Where?"
"It's taking place at the Grand Hotel. Archer's flushed out Caster from his base. It seems like he's acquainted with those Apostles."
"Right. I see. Do you need help?" You asked as you glanced at Rider. Your Servant's eyes widened before she started flipping you off.
"I can handle this. There's some more corpses around but Saber and I could handle them."
More corpses? Have the Apostles been going wild with even more corpses?
"The Church has requested my aid. Ruler has come to oversee the battle nearby. Saber and I will be going now."
"Do you have a description of Caster?" You asked one last time.
"Yes. I saw her riding an Undead Beast down the side of the building while the Apostles stirred confusion. Sorry, I have to go now. See you around."
The line went dead as you bit your lip. Seems like trouble was ramping up around town. Rider hummed in her seat with her arms crossed. Now she was just waiting for what you were going to do.
She gave a you a knowing smile, "Well Brie? Are you going to coward out?"
"It's not called being a coward. It's playing smart," you griped as you shook your head, "Though I admit that I am a huge coward..."
"So? What's our move?" Rider smiled as she leaned forward.
