I recommend we all vote for this version and make a majority before the clock ticks to zero.

Voting for the fate route is understandable, it doesn't feel totally doomed, and there's a bittersweetness to it that is not completely horrible.

Complaining about being given a write in on the other hand is... What? If the write in won't mean anything then Rabbit wouldn't have given it to us. We have opportunities to decide a course here, so let's use them hey? Maybe stop kvetching about lack of choice when the ultimate open choice is sitting right in front of you.

Personally I like the write-in.

Hmm. Honestly, I really don't mind the way Rabbit seems to be intending to end the quest through the default vote. Like, I understand the whole "golden route" mentality, but Fate's... kinda not really about all that in general. And I don't know if Rabbit's planning on doing a sequel/alternate routes (the wording of Fate End in the actual vote kind of implies at least maybe considering it), but even if not, I guess I don't consider the Fate end to be all doom and gloom?

I guess I don't mind a bit of tragedy in my endings, and that's obviously not to everyone's taste, hence the vocal outcry, but... eh.

That said, the new write-in feels very authentically Nasu, so that's awesome. Honestly, I still prefer the first version of it as well, since again, don't mind a bit of tragedy and I can already imagine the scene where Brie and Medb pass by Emiya or Jeanne who don't recognize them but headtilt because something seems familiar about them...

Are we allowed to do approval voting? If so....

Edit: Now that the newest write-in is winning, I feel safe going back to my original choice of the first variant.

I'm fond of both for different reasons, and the fact that we need a plurality to get past the bandwagon and so I feel like I have to commit to one as hard as I can instead of discussing the merits of either option is really annoying

Inserted tally

The write in is actually winning, except there's a typo in it that some people fixed and some didn't. 7 votes have 'out' where 4 have the corrected 'our'

Hmm...I think this seems promising.

oh shit next grail war we fight people will be lookin at us like "who is this sassy lost child"
Bonus points on giving off even more Illya vibes to Shirou.

Brie at the hospital when Rin gives birth to Illya: "Aww she's so cute" *looks at baby as shes holding it* "Look at me. I'm the Illya now."

The "open choice" doesn't matter unless one of the voters is smart enough to come up with something that will actually work for what we want and you're ignoring that we weren't given just a blank write-in and told to have at it, we were given an option for the bittersweet fate route ending and a blank write-in for "something other than the fate route ending".

The bar is set inherently higher for people who want something other than fate route ending because it's scientifically proven that even the most minor barrier (like requiring a VPN or IP address change to access to website you were banned from as an example) is enough to discourage 90(?)% of people from doing option X if option Y is right there and takes much less work. Voter complacency automatically tilts the outcome towards a pregenerated option simply because it's easier to copy and paste a vote.

The QM deliberately crafted the vote in order to weigh the outcome towards Fate route ending and the least people could do is acknowledge that instead of acting like people complaining are just spoiled regardless of whether people agree that doing so is fair or unfair.

If that's correct, then why is a write-in winning by a landslide?

Because thelxiop tagged everybody that voted :V (except me, n-not like I wanted to b-be tagged or anything b-baka!)

Voting being what it is, things are weighted towards the default option, and the update is literally titled "Fate".

That being said it's not necessarily something I hold against them. Adding another option for a wish could've helped, or it could've made things worse as people drew comparisons between the two, and we might not of thought of a wish that everybody is happy with.

Mainly I think everyone's tempers are still running high.

And also there's a nasty bit of context a work, where this write-in effort exploded out of nowhere and made roughly half the people on the default jump ship. Given that dynamic, I do think 1986ctcel's point still has merit.

Eh, I think it's more that drive-by voters tend to vote for something right away, so there's an immediate rush of votes for the only available option before the more thinking people start working on write-ins.

Well, we already cracked the egg and dropped the seasoning- might as well cook this salt-omelette edible, then.

And on different matters... There is some advantages of how things evolved to this, considering this was all a binary question that Rabbit was dragging us all into. When the other option was to fight against Ruler (which will be so very satisfactory), Last-Minute Saiba and Shirou, just having an ugly fist-fight against Medb is a mercy in comparison.

Then again, getting a shot to unleash all our pent-up salt against "Bonfire Saint" and "Knock-Off GARcher" would have been absolutely great, even though the chances of victory is small.

Would Scathach still remember Brie though if we do the write in vote?
She actually physically fought Berserker, so yes. Luvia is much less certain because she only helped remotely.
