Ornstein opened his eyes to a new world.
And scowled.
This world was a world of children of men. Not of the Lords of Cinder. The Sun came easily here, its light shining down benevolently upon a people that had never known struggle, never known sacrifice. It was a peaceful world.
Ornstein loathed it.
This girl that summoned him, she epitomized it all. That weakness. That frailty. She had never fought, as he had fought, as any of Gwyn's knights had fought. He remembered Gwyndolin, and scowled even further.
But, this girl was his Master, and deserved at least the barest amount of respect. So, when she asked his name, he thought for a moment. Was she deserving of that? He pondered it, and decided that yes, she did. For, after all, she had given her name first, and if nothing else, it was only polite that he do the same. Perhaps in time, she might even deserve to know what his name meant.
She gave him the information she knew, which was next to nothing relevant to him. It mattered little who participated, for he would kill them all. If they made alliances, he would strike them down all the same. Numbers were nothing compared to the power of the Sun.
He slid into astral form, not even bothering with the map she mentioned. Instead, he watched his young master as she went about her work of organizing her puppets. A great many small ones, many crafted to look exactly like her. Some carried spears and shields, others books, but none were a greater size than his hand. There were others, that resembled little more than stuffed animals. And one, that looked exactly like her, down to the hair.
A girl that fought with puppets. What irony was this?
But, he would try to be fair to her, at least. Not all could be expected to take to the front. Even in Anor Londo, there were little girls such as her.
How much more fragile it must be, to be a child of man.
With this thought, he continued to watch his new Master, and settled in for the night.

Rin rested her cup on her saucer with a clink, smile brittle as she surveyed the other girl across from her. This white-haired bitch…! Just sitting there calmly, looking all smug with her completely neutral expression, surveying her mansion's drawing room as though it were lacking in some way. As if it was inferior to her little ratty room back in that rundown fake Church…!
Her fingers twitched as she heard a crash come from downstairs. That Servant! Why, why did it have to be something like this? Was the Grail taunting her? Taunting the Tohsaka family? It was Kirei's fault somehow, she was sure. That fake priest. And then throwing this fake priestess at her, and saying 'be nice to each other now, you're going to be supporting one another,' as if it just made up for all the years of torture and pain!
Ooooooooh, if she could just get her hands on that decrepit old man!
The girl across from her took a sip, and tilted her head as another crash echoed from downstairs.
"My my. You certainly seem to have gotten a terrible Servant. I will pray for your soul, Rin Tohsaka. Perhaps God will grant you salvation in the form of an early loss, so that you no longer have to bear this embarrassment. Not to worry. I shall carry your family upon my back without the slightest hesitation or grudge. For, unlike you, I received a most excellent Servant, with whom I get along perfectly."
In the background, the woman sitting on her very expensive endtable with her legs crossed, smiled, bright eyes burning.
Rin, on the other hand, audibly grit her teeth, hand shaking. This girl… This rotten girl! How could a person manage to be even more abhorrent than that fake priest? She was a literal stain on humanity. Her very existence a testament to how much fate hated her.
"Hmph. That's good for you. But, I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you. I'll be winning this war, and I probably won't even need your help. So why don't you just stay here and make yourself useful by cleaning my room, or something?"
The girl gave a gasp completely empty of emotion.
"How scandalous. Are you trying to expose a pure maiden such as myself to whatever deviant articles you keep in your bedroom? Who knew you had such fantasies, Rin Tohsaka. I will pray most fervently that the lord forgives your sinful transgressions against this simple lady of the cloth."
She paused as another crash echoed from downstairs.
"I will also note that you said 'probably.' It seems even you can manage to be honest, in a roundabout, deceitful way. It is good that you recognize at least one of your many, many deficiencies."
She tilted her head to the side as a teacup slammed into the wall behind her.
"Perhaps you should start working on recognizing your anger next? I will sacrifice my safety and purity to try and lead you in prayer…"
