Fate/Promised Dream

[X] Barter for Avalon.
-[X] Offer a command seal, shelter, and a promise not to attack him when he is on Einzbern ground.
-[X] Offer an alliance if that doesn't work, but not before.
-[X] Ask Shirou why he didn't know about the war already.
–[X] Use the gaps in each group's knowledge to convince Ilya and Shirou of the benefits of an alliance.
–[X] See if all the different things you want from the Grail can be combined into a shared wish to make it less important which of you wins in the end.
–[X] Offer an alliance
—[X] "I seek to win the Grail with honor, but the last War has taught me that there are more madmen and monsters out there than true heroes. I would settle this in the end between the true heroes with honor than be forced to watch the city drown and burn.

Insanely long write in (for this quest, that is) is a go! :V

How so? Rider's plan was to gain true incarnation. As in, actually be resurrected by the Grail.
I more meant his 'join my team idea' without Heroic Spirits fuelling it he wouldn't be able to get a wish right? I mean, I suppose if he knew that he'd be able to phrase his wish to resurrect those who died if they'd agreed to join him, though convincing someone to do so would be tricky.
Uh, how about also trying to remind him that his father pretty much stole the sheath from us, used it without our consent, and also betrayed us in the end? Something about the way he asked it really irked me.
This is actually a good point, not only is our Master ailing, and to him a child, but Avalon is ours to begin with and Shirou only has it because it was looted and essentially stolen from Saber.

How do we communicate that diplomatically?

(editing in further-details of Bartering)
Don't see a problem with an alliance either, minus the fact that Illya will probably start out pissed. Later she'll see that dear old dad screwed up with Shiro too, but to start I'm sure she'll be against it. And yeah, loads of Command Seals.

The vote tally doesn't register the second half of your votes. You'll have to change '–' and '—' to '--' and '---' for the program to acknowledge them.

[X] Barter for Avalon.
-[X] Offer a command seal, and safe shelter
-[X] Remind him that his house isn't safe. Shirou wasn't aware of the War until now, he has no preparation. Should an enemy Servant come here and unleash a large scale attack, he and his neighbors might be affected
-[X] An alliance is possible

He has a cheat.

Iskander's Noble Phantasm includes OTHER heroic spirits, so if they wholeheartedly signed on with his project, they would also be included in his reality marble, and thus, incarnated with him.

This is why I count votes manually; the tally's been more trouble than it's worth. I'll go ahead and change it tho

He can summon out individuals, as long as he has the energy.
If I recall it was only one at a time, and that leaves the individual in question competing against thousands of others who would also want to be summoned.

Anyway, a vote:

[X] Remind him, firmly, that he is holding another person at ransom using an item that was stolen in the first place.
[X] If that has no effect suggest that you and Rider could work together to defeat the other Servants so in the end the two of you can face off in honourable combat.
[X] "I seek to win the Grail with honor, but the last War has taught me that there are more madmen and monsters out there than true heroes. I would settle this in the end between the true heroes with honor than be forced to watch the city drown and burn.

I feel compelled to remind you said item was stolen some 1300 years ago, and that your trying to use the crimes of Morgan Le Fay against someone who isn't even English. At bare minimum you might wanna think of some better wording.

But how do we know Morgan isn't ShirNO? HMMMMMM?!

Plus, we aren't trying to say Emiya was the one who originally stole it, we're just saying he had it, and forgot to give it back to us, and he put it in your body... Probably for safe keeping till we could get it back.

So fork it over NOT Shirou! It ain't yours! Stealing is wrong, mmmk? How you like it if I stole your hat and kept it for upwards 1310 years or so?

Alternatively mayhaps we can convince Illy to act like her mom a little? Maybe? Kinda? Ya know... Dreadfully endearing and super trustworthy and kind and loveable and NOT a little bundle of alchemic crazy? That'd be swell.

OP, do you have a schedule for when you close votes? I only ask because my hype thrusters are on full, and if they don't have to be Id like to give them a break.

He's still using what is essentially our own possession as leverage so regarding him as being implicitly guilty of theft isn't exactly unfair in my eyes.

Thank you Jackalope for pointing that out.

Seriously people, Sabers been dead for so long that any rights she had to claiming ownership of Avalon went out the window looooong ago.

I had the same feeling. I think it's because Shirou's actually bartering and not falling all over himself trying to help someone. It seems so alien. So Archer.

Keep in mind Waver doesn't have much magical energy. Iskander had to be conservative. If he was fully incarnated, he'd have less of a problem, as his own upkeep isn't a problem anymore and...well, there's all kinds of ley lines up for grabs if he conquers the world.
